Transmigration To Magus World-Chapter 93: A Hall Full of Guests in the City Lord’s Mansion
"Life in the mortal world is like waves, and people like water; only a few ever return from the Magus world."
In the pavilion, Viggo lightly shook his hand, and the white pigeon fluttered its wings as it flew out of the window. He sighed faintly and turned to look at Aizen with a calm gaze, revealing no hint of emotion.
"In two hours, Lord Morning star Magus will personally open the Treisenberg Treasure Vault . Since Junior Brother Gideon and Junior Sister Simone have not returned, you and Junior Brother Miles will go together to the treasure vault..."
Aizen’s eyes shifted slightly, and he nodded. It seemed that Viggo did not intend to probe into the matter further, or perhaps he had already received accurate information through some other channels.
In any case,Aizen had no intention of hiding anything and had nothing to worry about. Whether it was Gideon or Simone, both were injured and significantly weakened. It was impossible for them to show up before them so easily.
After pondering for a moment, Viggo reminded him, "At that time, some people sent by the imperial court will also enter with you. Although disputes are forbidden in the treasure vault, it’s better for you to keep a low profile."
As he left the pavilion, Aizen continued to think about Viggo’s words. Judging from the tone, it seemed that some formidable individuals might be among the imperial court’s group?
The night was tranquil as water, and the autumn breeze was silent. As he walked along the corridor, Aizen saw someone standing there.
The figure stood in a shadowy corner, where neither the moonlight nor the lanterns could reach. Anyone passing by absent-mindedly might not even notice him.
It was a slim yet wiry man of average height. His stern demeanor was accentuated by the deep crease between his eyebrows, a mark of frequent frowning. His tightly pressed lips spoke of a resolute and determined character, and his deep-set eyes betrayed an exceptional mind and a shrewd disposition.
" Miles?"
Aizen stopped in his tracks, his gaze landing on the figure, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
The man stood there like a statue, emitting no discernible aura or breath.
Someone like this, if trained as an assassin, would undoubtedly make a name for himself.
"I heard you’re the only one who came back," said Miles as he stepped out of the shadows. His footsteps were solid yet made no sound. Around his waist was a belt that gleamed with a cold, sinister light.
That wasn’t a belt—it was a soft sword, razor-sharp and deadly.
"I also heard you were injured," Aizen chuckled lightly.
Miles responded with a cold smile, though a flicker of deep apprehension passed through his eyes.
No matter what strength Aizen had displayed before, or where he ranked on the Outer Clan Gold Rankings , the fact that Ryven had been slain by Aizen—and that only Aizen returned—spoke volumes about his ruthlessness and strength.
There was no such thing as luck in this world. Aizen was undoubtedly a formidable figure. Reflecting on how he had slain Georgie,Nero, and Trager in the past, it was clear he had carved his way here through sheer slaughter.
If not for the critical importance of the treasure vault’s resources to Miles, and the rule forbidding fighting in the vault, Miles would have preferred not to accompany such a dangerous person.
Aizen naturally perceived the wariness in Miles’s gaze. The fact that Miles was waiting here indicated he had likely been informed by Viggo.
Since they had no personal grievances, and unless their interests clashed, Aizen had no desire for conflict either. It was best for them to coexist peacefully on this trip to the treasure vault.
The two left the mansion together. While the mansion was quiet at night, both knew the tranquility was only superficial. Although no patrols were visible, hidden guards were stationed everywhere.
Places where guards visibly patrolled often seemed more secure but might not necessarily be the most tightly guarded.
The unknown and unseen were always the most intimidating. Once everything was exposed and weaknesses analyzed, the fear diminished.
The City Lord’s Mansion occupied the prime location in Treisenberg City. The Treisenberg Treasure Vault was situated beneath the mansion, accessible only with the city lord’s permission.
Traditionally, each opening of the treasure vault took place in the city lord’s mansion under their supervision. This time was no exception.
When Aizen and Miles arrived at the gates on horseback, they were stopped by guards.
"Who goes there?"
The guards at the gate, clad in armor with swords at their waists, exuded a sharp presence. Each was at the Refining Blood stage of the magus body refining stage.
The might of even the gatekeepers hinted at the strength of the forces under Lord Morning star Magus.
Both dismounted and presented the tokens provided by Viggo.
"Follow me," one guard said coldly, leading the way into the mansion.
The other guards retracted their gazes. Aizen and Miles abandoned their horses and followed the guard.
The mansion dwarfed Viggo’s estate. Pavilions, towers, and water pavilions interspersed among green pines and cypresses; rockeries, flower beds, and bamboo groves complemented the scenery. Night birds murmured, and lantern-carrying guards patrolled quietly.
Illuminated areas exuded grandeur.
The guard led them to a brightly lit main hall in the front courtyard. The path was paved with green bricks, and the scent of osmanthus blossoms filled the air—a rich, intoxicating fragrance carried by the autumn breeze.
Inside the main hall, the sound of wind instruments mingled with the laughter and chatter of young men enjoying a lively banquet.
The two arrived at an awkward time.
The hall fell silent as they entered, and countless gazes, sharp and disdainful, turned toward Aizen and Miles.
The air grew cold. None of the glances carried goodwill.
These court officials, who looked down on the Heavenly Demon Clan and Seven Great Sword Clan , had little respect for Sorcery wanderers.
