Trapped in the Beastworld Breeder System (BL)-Chapter 60: Don’t you want me?
After Lucien left the room, everything quieted down. The maids, who had been kneeling nearby, had actually been listening attentively to the interaction between Lucien, the Second Prince, and the king’s esteemed guest, as they often referred to Aries.
It surprised them greatly. The rumors about the closeness between the prince and the human witch, and how the prince supposedly needed something from him, were apparently true. They had never truly seen the two together before; all they ever had were whispered rumors passed through palace corridors, rumors they themselves had helped spread across the city.
So when Lucien finally exited the room, the maids simply stood there, silently staring at Aries as he remained seated in the bathtub.
Aries sighed softly.
He glanced around the chamber, feeling a strange sense of relief wash over him. For the first time in what felt like forever, he had the chance to rest properly after all the stress he had endured during the mission. He finally had the liberty to enjoy a grand, majestic bath, something he hadn’t experienced in a long while.
And speaking of the maids, he turned his head slightly toward them and offered a small, tired smile.
After the bath, Aries wrapped himself in a soft fur cloth and made his way back to the room, where he found Lucien seated on the bed, his face carrying a faint, unreadable grin.
As Aries stepped into the room, water dripped from his hair onto the floor, leaving a trail behind him. His eyes immediately settled on Lucien.
Holding the fur cloth closer to his chest, he asked cautiously, "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I am," Lucien replied as he stood up. "Do I look like I’m not okay?"
"You certainly do," Aries said plainly.
He moved away from the entrance, and just then, two maids entered the room, placing two trays carefully on the table before bowing and leaving as quickly as they had come before Aries could even call them back.
Aries’s eyes followed them. His hands lifted slightly in reflex, then dropped back down as he redirected his attention to Lucien.
"I don’t understand," he said. "Why aren’t the ladies waiting?"
Lucien stepped away from the bed he had been sitting on while waiting for Aries to finish bathing and began walking toward him. With each step Lucien took forward, Aries felt the urge to step back, but he forced himself to remain where he was.
When Lucien reached him, his hands lifted slowly. Aries’s eyes tracked their movement as Lucien’s fingers settled beneath his chin, gently tilting his face upward. Their gazes locked.
"Well," Lucien said quietly, staring deep into Aries’s eyes, "it seems we’ve finally reached a position where you can’t chase me out."
Aries’s eyes searched Lucien’s face, trying to decipher what he meant, but when no understanding came, he asked, "And what do you mean by that? Why can’t I drive you out?"
"Well," Lucien replied smoothly, his thumb still resting under Aries’s chin, "the clothing required for the courtroom can only be fitted properly by me. I know more about it than the maids."
"That’s a lie," Aries said. He knew it well.
Still, the way Lucien spoke—so confident, so certain made him feel unsettled. It was as though Lucien was deliberately closing the distance between them, and that realization stirred something uncomfortable within him.
"Oh... is it?" Lucien asked softly.
He stepped closer. Much closer.
Aries found himself forced back a step, his body brushing lightly against the wall. Lucien leaned in, and Aries froze, unable or unwilling to move any farther.
Then Lucien’s lips parted, and he captured Aries’s lips with his own.
Lucien closed his eyes as he savored the familiar sweetness of that kiss—the softness, the warmth, the way Aries’s lips yielded beneath his. He found himself wanting more, wanting to linger longer than he should.
Aries remained still, caught in the moment, until Lucien finally broke the kiss and stepped away leaving Aries standing there, breath uneven, wanting more than he cared to admit.
The sudden loss of warmth startled him. One moment, those soft, tempting lips had been pressed against his own; the next, they were gone, and he was left clutching the fur cloth around himself.
He lifted his gaze to find Lucien watching him closely.
Aries shook his head lightly, as if trying to dispel whatever spell Lucien had cast over him.
"We should get dressed," Lucien said at last. "Right?"
Aries shook his head. "No," he replied quietly. "We shouldn’t get dressed. You should finish what you started."
Standing before Lucien was the most captivating being he had ever laid eyes upon. That realization alone tempted him dangerously. Lucien could feel the tension in his own body, torn between restraint and desire, wavering between saying yes and forcing himself to say no.
As Aries watched Lucien hesitate, he stepped closer. So close that their breaths mingled.
"What exactly are you thinking? You started this." Aries said softly.
"Don’t you want me?" he added.
"Don’t I want you?" Lucien repeated, his voice low.
He lifted his head, staring so intensely into Aries’s eyes that it felt as though he was peering straight into his soul. And then, without warning, he lifted Aries up. Aries gasped softly as his legs instinctively wrapped around Lucien’s waist.
Lucien backed them against the wall, pressing close and letting Aries feel the undeniable tension between them.
His breath was musky and uneven as he spoke. "What do you think about this? I want you so much that the only thing I can think to say is yes. I want to feel you in my hands."
He paused, struggling with himself. "But I worry it might not be the right thing. You’ve only just woken up. And the king is waiting for us. Maybe... maybe we should wait until we return."
But Aries wasn’t truly listening.
His thoughts were clouded by sensation—the closeness, the heat, the way Lucien’s body pressed against his. Before he could think better of it, his lips moved on their own, capturing Lucien’s in a firm, desperate kiss.
Lucien stiffened for only a heartbeat before responding in kind.
