Chapter 711: Chapter 320 Group Action

Alka decided to leave all members of the Puppet Knight Order at the inn. Taking these 30-centimeter-tall figures out would be too conspicuous; they’d attract everyone’s attention. Crowded places really aren’t suitable for their operations.

Alka looked at his teammates, pondered for a moment, and said, "We’ll split up."

"Lucilia, Pororo, you two and I will follow Chadite to map this area. The rest of you can move freely within the city and gather some information while you’re at it."

"No problem."

"Okay."

Hearing everyone’s response, Alka nodded. He then seemed to recall something, stopped, and looked at Julia. "Julia," he said, "it’s better if you don’t go out much here. Keep yourself hidden."

Julia nodded, understanding Alka’s intention.

After all, Julia was essentially a merfolk, even though she had used her abilities to transform her fish tail into legs. If she were discovered, there would undoubtedly be trouble. This was true even though she was no longer a believer in Life, and had, in fact, turned her back on it. Sometimes, hateful enemies wouldn’t care about such distinctions; to them, merfolk were inextricably linked to Life.

Once the tasks were assigned, Alka’s group of four left the inn.

"It’s really lively out here," Lucilia said from Alka’s shoulder, looking around.

Preparations for a festival were underway. All sorts of lanterns and decorations clearly made for the festive atmosphere were being placed everywhere.

When they arrived at the large square in front of the city entrance, they could see a stage being constructed.

"The smell here is strange; it’s not just fragrance," Pororo said, sniffing the air.

"There are too many people. It’s normal for it to smell strange," Lucilia commented from Alka’s shoulder.

The surrounding shops were also decorating their interiors.

Chadite noticed a shop selling clothes.

"Why don’t we get a change of clothes?"

Upon hearing this suggestion, Alka nodded. Even with Pororo accompanying them, they’d still be conspicuous if they changed clothes. Still, it’s better than not changing. Plus, it’s a chance to experience some local culture.

Everyone except Pororo entered the shop. Pororo sat helplessly on a stone bollard by the door.

When Alka and the others came out, a group of city children had already gathered around Pororo.

"Do you eat people?" one asked.

"Yeah, I especially like eating little kids like you," Pororo said to a child who was trying to climb on him. He then gently lifted the child and placed him to the side.

Seeing Alka and the others emerge, Pororo turned to the children surrounding him and suddenly roared.

"ROAR!"

"If you don’t run, I’ll eat you all!"

"AAAH! Run!"

"He’s going to eat us! Run!"

The children around him shrieked and scattered, but from the wide smiles on their faces, it was clear they were just having fun running away.

After dispersing the children, Pororo walked over to Alka and the others, exasperated. "If you hadn’t come out soon, I would have gone crazy. Let’s go."

"Haha, I didn’t expect you to be so popular with these kids," Alka said with a laugh.

Hearing this, Pororo rolled his eyes helplessly and waved his hand, urging them to hurry.

"Ah! I want new clothes too!" Lucilia, who hadn’t gotten any new clothes, said angrily from Alka’s shoulder.

This was a ready-to-wear shop, so they couldn’t get custom clothing. As a result, Lucilia still wore her previous outfit. She quite liked the island’s unique traditional attire.

Hearing this, Chadite smiled and said, "No worries. I’ve pretty much figured out their style. I’ll make you one when we get back."

"Really? That’s great!"

The group chatted and laughed as they enjoyed the city’s sights, slowly making their way to the gate.

They exchanged cheerful greetings with the soldiers they had met earlier, then boarded the Swallow and departed from the small port.

Once outside, Chadite immediately entered work mode. Silver ripples began to spread outwards, though they were now very difficult to detect with the naked eye. Chadite had become quite adept at concealing them.

"Which area are we scanning?" Chadite asked.

Hearing this, Alka took out a map of the Land of Spirits, then circled an orange point and its surroundings. Since the Land of Fragrance is essentially the core of the entire Land of Spirits, probing it rashly would undoubtedly cause problems. That’s why I decided against including this island in the scan. Besides, the Land of Fragrance doesn’t have any designated points on the map, not even a white one.

Looking at the area Alka had circled, Chadite nodded, then led Alka and the other two forward.

「...」

Jason and Juanlu were strolling through the city. As for the others, Simon and Matilda, they decided to stay at the inn with Julia. Both Jason and Juanlu wore clothes embroidered with petals and various floral elements, allowing them to blend in completely with the city’s atmosphere.

"What are you looking for?" Juanlu asked, noticing Jason glancing left and right as if searching for something.

Without turning his head, Jason continued his search. "What else?" he replied. "Of course, I’m looking for places that sell gemstones."

Juanlu understood immediately. He patted Jason’s shoulder and said no more, though he couldn’t quite hide the schadenfreude in his smile.
