Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 722 - 323 Tavern Shock_3
Smelling the faint scent of alcohol on his Hand of Precision, he wore an expression of disgust, as if he had dirtied himself.
He glanced at the slightly bewildered woman beside him, his face full of displeasure.
He pushed back his chair, ready to leave.
But after taking two steps, he seemed to remember something.
Returning to his seat, he picked up his wine glass and the dish from the center of the table, taking them with him as he left.
Faced with Simon's unabashed emotional display, the somewhat baffled woman put her hand into her pocket. She took out a palm-sized mirror and scrutinized herself under the light. Then, confused, she raised the left hand she had just extended and sniffed it. Simon's series of actions had made her somewhat insecure.
Finally, she could only mumble to herself, "That stinky, metallic man."
Chaotic sounds erupted nearby. She turned to look.
Two drunken men were already entangled in a brawl.
A large open space immediately formed where they fought, as the surrounding tables and chairs were cleared away. The men and women in the tavern stood around, some even on tables, watching the fight in the middle.
"Come on, hit him harder!"
"Didn't you eat? Fighting with such little strength?"
"With such pathetic strength, what are you even doing here? You're not even as strong as me!"
The one who said this was an elderly lady who looked to be around fifty. Seeing her with one hand on a crutch and the other gripping a wine bottle, she must have been quite a formidable figure in her youth.
The fight between the two men grew increasingly chaotic. The surrounding jeers grew louder, and gambling tables were even set up on the side, with many people eagerly participating.
Amidst the chaos, neither the bartender nor the owner behind the bar came to interrupt; instead, they watched with keen interest from the sidelines. When the fight began, the drinkers had already thoughtfully cleared away the surrounding tables and chairs. This left the two men in the center without weapons, forced to engage in bare-fisted combat.
Simon came to Jason's side, who was also observing the fight closely.
"Shall we go?"
Jason shook his head in response to Simon's words.
"That man's emotions are abnormal." Having long ago formed a contract with a Crystal Dragon, Jason also possessed the ability to clearly perceive emotions.
At this moment, the man being suppressed in the fight, visibly slimmer than his opponent, already had bloodshot eyes. His emotions seemed off.
"Not right? Definitely not right," Simon said. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
His eyes are already bloodshot, how could he be alright, especially after drinking?
Soon, the blood-red in the man's eyes looked as if it would burst from their sockets, and thin blood vessels rapidly spread around his eyes.
"Alright, something is definitely wrong," Simon repeated, his voice devoid of its earlier calmness.
"ROAR!"
With the piercing cry, the man's clothes tore apart as his body enlarged. Blood lines around his eyes spread rapidly all over his body like a spider's web. His hands transformed into sharp claws. Blood began to ooze from his every pore, dyeing his entire body blood-red.
This sudden transformation left his opponent stunned.
Before anyone could react, the blood-red claws lunged forward. In an instant, they pierced through his opponent's chest, then twisted brutally.
The heart, still beating and connected to tendons and flesh, was ripped out.
Blood gushed out wildly, staining the man-turned-monster an even deeper red.
"AAAAAAH!"
Screams from women erupted as the entire tavern instantly descended into chaos.
"There's a monster, run!"
"Those madmen turned into monsters! Why are they here?!"
"Soldiers! Where's the Flower Knight?!"
Amidst the chaotic shouts, the suddenly transformed monster roared, "Blood!" It began to indiscriminately attack the tavern patrons who were attempting to flee.
"Shall we go?" Juanlu came over to Jason and Simon and asked.
Jason did not answer but instead looked at Simon.
Simon had already put on the lenses he used to detect power levels.
"Not very strong, barely at the Third Stage. But judging by his physique, he's clearly stronger than the energy waves he's emitting."
Upon hearing this, Jason said directly, "Restrain him. Capture him alive if possible."
Hearing this, the other two asked no further questions, and the three of them immediately charged forward.
Just as the monster's claws were about to strike a woman who was frantically retreating, having collapsed to the ground unable to rise, a blue Magic Bullet hit the monster, instantly freezing its arm.
A long, thick club swung over, striking the monster's frozen hand directly. The three spheres floating on the club immediately bit down, their sharp teeth, like cutting machines, whirring as they circled.
In an instant, the entire frozen arm was bitten clean off. The three spheres tore at the arm, each devouring its share. The spheres instantly took on a blood-red tint, grew larger, and began emitting an aura of madness.
Given the suspicious origin of this monster, Juanlu did not allow the energy from what his spheres consumed to be transferred to himself. Instead, he used it to strengthen them.
Two roughly assembled, thick metal chains shot forward, hooking the terrified woman on the ground and pulling her away.
"Run, it's not safe here!" Without a glance, Simon threw the woman out of the tavern door.
He raised his hand, and an energy-formed web flew out, instantly ensnaring the monster.
"Careful!" Jason shouted, sharply raising his hand.
A mass of crystals sprayed forth, instantly clogging the monster's wide-open mouth. The monster's entire head seemed to swell as if about to burst. The attack it had been about to spew was forced back down. Only the magma trickling from its lips hinted at what it had intended to unleash.
Under the combined efforts of the three, the people inside the tavern quickly fled.

Meanwhile, Alka, having inquired around, finally arrived at the area where the Church was located.
The place was located behind the gigantic flower bud. From the front, it appeared to be a modestly sized greenhouse, but behind it lay a large cluster of interconnected greenhouses, forming an entire complex of buildings.
As Alka looked at the greenhouse before him and prepared to enter, a young girl in flower-themed attire spotted him and stepped into his path.
"Excuse me, are you Lord Alka?"
Seeing the girl call out his name, Alka nodded.
"Yes."
The girl nodded and gestured for Alka to enter. "Please follow me, Lord Alka. The Great Gardener has been waiting for you for some time."
