Treasure Hunting System: The Ocean Conquerer-Chapter 769 - 339: The Changing Land of Fragrance_2
Passing through these Dream Bubbles, Alka looked ahead.
The distant Dream Realm area was filled with black mist, where many shadow creatures were rampaging. There were very few mist-like creatures around here, not even many light-shadow creatures.
As Alka arrived, the shadow creatures attempting to destroy the Dream Bubbles quickly fled upon seeing him.
He moved quickly within the Dream Realm, soon reaching the edge of the black mist-filled area.
Alka looked at the thick black mist forming a wall. It was almost identical to the black mist used by the Dream Realm God he had encountered earlier, the one who claimed to be Nightmare.
It was certain that this Divine, not completely fallen, was likely within the Dream World of the Giant Wood Habitat.
When Alka approached this area, the many shadow creatures around did not dare to come near him. However, they still remained where Alka could see them. Even though these shadow creatures had no eyes, Alka could feel them watching him.
He slightly turned his head, sweeping his gaze across the shadow creatures surrounding him in the distance. Wherever Alka's gaze landed, the shadow creatures instinctively shrank back.
Watching these creatures, Alka frowned. The strength of these shadow creatures was mostly above the Third Stage, and he could see several at the Fourth Stage. They were very powerful dream creatures. The black mist these creatures were gathered around was also related to that Nightmare's Dream Realm God.
It's almost certain that the Divine's prototype, besides the so-called terror, is also highly related to these shadow creatures. Perhaps a Divine of shadow creatures? Alka couldn't help but think.
After all, from the Divine Fragment, Alka hadn't gained much information, but he knew that Divines within the Dream Realm were not uncommon. This was just as the Flower Fairy and those two other Divines, who were also in poor condition, had said. The Divine Fragment Alka had consumed once belonged to a guardian of the doorway between the Dream Realm and reality.
And among the three types of dream creatures, shadow creatures possessed the strongest destructive desire. Based on Alka's current understanding of the Dream World, if there was a weak spot between reality and the Dream Realm, the shadow creatures would be the fastest to charge through. They also harbored the deepest hatred for life. That was why the Nightmare wanted to enter reality. According to what the Nightmare had said, the former owner of that Divine Fragment had thwarted him many times.
It seems different from what I initially thought, Alka mused. The owner of my Divine Fragment might not have been a weak existence. At least, stronger than this Divine of shadow creatures.
ROAR!
An angry roar suddenly echoed from within the black mist.
Upon hearing this roar, Alka quickly retreated. A figure rushed out from the black mist. It stared at Alka but did not recklessly attack, instead remaining in place with a vigilant demeanor.
This was a creature resembling a bipedal crocodile, its shadowy form burning and flickering like black flames. A Fifth Stage shadow creature.
Alka could sense that even though they were at the same stage, the shadow creature was both wary and fearful of him.
Fortunately, it wasn't the Divine from the Dream Realm.
Thinking for a moment, Alka conjured a pink spear in his hand and forcefully threw it.
Upon seeing the pink spear, the shadow creature immediately turned and fled without hesitation.
The light pink spear's lethality against dream creatures was greater than he had anticipated. Under Alka's control, a shadow spear materialized and pierced directly through the creature's leg. Large amounts of pink mist erupted, beginning to envelop it.
The shadow creature was exceptionally decisive; the part enveloped by the mist detached instantly, and it dived back into the black mist. The other shadow creatures watching from afar withdrew simultaneously, none daring to peek at Alka from the black mist any longer.
The pink mist, wrapping the detached part of the shadow creature, returned to Alka's hand.
Alka looked at the pink mist sphere in his hand, then at the now completely empty perimeter of the black mist membrane. It seems my Hunter identity really intimidates dream creatures, he mused.
Alka found it hard to believe that the Divine claiming to be Nightmare hadn't noticed him, even though Alka was standing right outside the black mist membrane. Either the Nightmare is in a truly dire state, or it's also afraid to face me directly in the Dream Realm, even if my strength here is only at the Fifth Stage.
However, Alka didn't have the courage to delve into the black mist to investigate. That would be akin to entering someone else's domain, he reasoned.
Looks like I'll have to find Shadow Robe to ask about this later, Alka thought. That Sixth Stage light-shadow creature knows more than I do.
With these thoughts, Alka returned to reality. As for the pink sphere that had enclosed a part of the shadow creature, it had already burst open, revealing nothing inside.
Awakened, Alka got up and left the room. The curtain outside had been pulled open. It was time for them to embark on their final journey home.
After saying farewell to the fortress soldiers, Alka and the others resumed their return journey at the fastest possible pace.
"By the way, how are the rescued women and children?" Alka suddenly asked.
Upon hearing this, Chadite replied, "The soldiers in the fortress have already escorted them back to their former hometowns."
