Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 326 While practice was going on…
[Lucy’s POV: ]
[ "These bastards certainly are monsters. Three hours with them and they are going to do better than they ever did during those game days." ] 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
[ "It’s because of our influence, I’d say. Nothing we can do about it actually." ]
A while has passed since they started their practice for the tests, and now that they knew how they had to apply the things that they had learned during this time, they were progressing better than we had expected.
[ "Look at that bastard. He knew how the test was going to be already when we came here but after seeing your demonstration with the Aura, he had been aiming for the destruction of one of these fortified walls as well." ]
Rex was doing well and he had already finished today’s training about his energy manipulation subject.
’He was already proficient with controlling the energy flow of the things around him and the energy that was present inside of him, but now that he had picked up a few new tricks from our teachings, he was doing well on his own.’
He was applying what we were doing to the things that he wanted and the things that he was good at.
It was not something just anyone could copy but not only had he understood all the things that we had talked about in the past few hours, but he also made those techniques his own by modifying them to suit himself.
He was doing something very unique and certainly not something that I liked seeing often, but, since it was this scenario, it was fine.
[ "He was the main character for a reason as well, hun? That bastard
Ras..." ]
She was bringing her teeth at him but the poor man was only doing his best to improve what he had learned from us.
’He learned something new, he improvised on the things that he found unnecessary, and then he upgraded those things with the knowledge that he possessed already.’
He mixed techniques and now he was even coming up with new kinds of techniques that were derived from the mixture of the previous ones.
[ "He’s a returnee, alreight." ]
He was amazing, like really amazing.
And seeing his progress, we had no doubt even if he were to face off against a demonic human of the mid range, he would give them a good run for their money.
’And he wasn’t the only one that was doing well.’
Cathy had learned something new just now.
’She was using materialised light magic for some new kind of magic techniques.’
She got inspiration from the light swords that El had summoned at the start and thanks to that inspiration, we believe she was now a step closer to awakening her saintess powers.
The new technique was something that even we were seeing for the first time, but it wasn’t something too complicated.
It was a good start and she could use this technique as a foundation for a greater magic system and since this was something that was purely focused on physical attacks, or for combat to be more precise, she will be able to use those ’weapons’ of light in various ways.
’Then there was Nessy. Her dear cute Agnes.’
All things about Agnes on one side, the way she could control her powers, the space attribute and now the subconscious use of null attribute as well... the way she used her skills, the way she calculated the outcome, the impact, and the benefits it might provide, her natural talent for combat was something astonishing.
She was good... like pretty good.
’El had told me how she dealt with that demon contracted contractee... the way she just killed him by choking it in her space chains, the way she didn’t even flinch and just believed her punishment to be the right thing...’
It still enthralled me thinking just how exciting of a scene it would have been and if she would do something similar if a situation like that happened once again.
But thinking about that isn’t that fun. Action like what Lux was showing us right now would be much more fun to think about than Nessy’s darker side.
[ "She’s... flexible." ]
El looked at me with her head tucked back like she had seen a scene that one wasn’t supposed to.
[ "I’m flexibler!" ]
[ "That’s the wrong kind of word, don’t you think?" ]
She as saying anything like she would when she couldn’t come up with anything logical or anything absurd that at least made some kind of sense.
[ "I was just saying... I mean look at her. She does more acrobatics than even Friday. She’s practically an extraterrestrial gymnast." ]
[ "She is unterrestrial if I have to say it. She belongs nowhere, not even in your dirty fantasies... well, unless I’m there. Then you can have her there.
Two flexible ladies would be pretty good night partners after a stressful day, right?" ]
I couldn’t deny what she just said but the part where she sexualised my innocent fantasies was unacceptable.
Not that I could argue against her. Or else she would start saying even worse things that I really did not want to hear in this environment.
"We will take a break in fifteen!"
Leon was Lux’s sparring partner and they were fighting at a high intensity.
’Leon wasn’t that adept at dodging the projectiles and she wasn’t that adept at firing at a target that had movement speed like his, which actually was comparable to El’s.’
Leon was a pure swordsman that had his own way of using swords.
He was also a perfectionist that had followed the path of refinement like I did and ground his swordplay until it had become something that looked elegant even just seeing from afar.
’Though, he was still not exactly like me.’
He was a noble, a true noble in the eyes of the world. And it was a truth even if he liked it or not.
His sword was raised to protect the weak, to defend the weaker, to stop the strong, and to keep what was precious to him safe.
’He had his own high morality and ethics, his way of looking at this world and his sides that he could only show to those he considered a family.’
He was strong, but, not strong enough to handle the eyes of the world, the criticism they throw at him about his actions, and his guilt for not doing anything about it even though he should, on his own.
That was the reason he needed someone to make him stronger.
Someone who was strong themselves, someone who understood his heart, someone he could be vulnerable to, someone... he could look in the eye and tell the truth about his heart.
Lily filled that place for him, and he was grateful for that.
’It’s going to be fun when we go to their home during these breaks.’
He has asked us to come along since he was going to introduce Lily to them, and since it was the great knight and the mage we were talking about and their great dukedom, we knew things were going to be fun already.
[ "Oak doesn’t look good." ]
[ "Why? Did she look so good previously that you wanted to go and kiss her?" ]
[ "Yes. And yes I don’t mean that so please stop this now, alright? Let it go. You are the hottest. The prettiest. The loveliest. And the sweetest of them all.
You are the only one... hmm? Wait. Is she alright?" ]
Oak didn’t look so good but it seemed like she only felt under the weather until now so we didn’t bother her too much.
She was saying she was alright until now and even though her face looked a little pale, there weren’t really any signs of anything else going on with her.
’El said she even scanned her with her eyes and found nothing wrong so we had been waiting in the side to finish their practice, but...’
While it was almost break time and meal time and we were observing them from the side, while the practice was still going on and things looked pretty normal everywhere... Oak, while standing just a little behind Cathy, seemed to be experiencing a headache.
Her hand was on her head and she was only standing her place like she was trying to get her balance back, but since the angle we were standing at wasn’t too good, we couldn’t see what had been going on with her before.
However, after Cathy moved away to a little left and we moved to a little right while walking and talking, we saw her paler face, the way her skin was almost white and how the vines around her neck and face had turned blue...
"Miss Oak?!"
She had freezed in her place so even when I ran at her and checked her for temperature and any other visible signs, El came back running right behind me.
"No, no, no. No! Lucy! Put her down!"
She seemed to have known what was going on with her, so I did as she said and carefully laid her on the floor...
’Shit...’
Her body wasn’t cold, but hot. Her skin tone change was limited to her upper body only while the tip of her fingers had turned green.
The rest of the body looked fine but the signs that we were seeing weren’t anything good.
"She’s poisoned..."
-Ghap!
El did not wait even a moment after Miss Oak was on the ground and called her unique weapon out in the form of a small knife... and shoved it under her throat.
And when she did, strange blue blood slashed all around us.
