Chapter 328: 328 Hidden motives

[Lucy’s POV: ]

"Shouldn’t you go with her as well?"

"We have something to talk about, tough, headmaster."

She was an expert when it came to these medical things so I have full trust in her.

She will take care of everything with the help of everyone around her.

’She had Cary and Anna as well as Friday, Miss Eva and bastard AJ to help her.’

And there were the royals as well.

There was nothing much for me to worry about in this area.

"You want to talk about something? In a time like this?"

Yes people were dying right now, yes many of them were our dear friends and close acquaintances as well, but, they weren’t going to die.

’She will do what she has to do to save all of them and since we were still inside the academy, there was no way the headmaster was going to let anyone die anyway.’

He was obligated to look after every student, teacher, and the official helpers of the academy since they were, one way or the other, connected with the academy.

He had no choice but to save them, and though the Worldline rules blocked him from direct involvement, he still knew well how to take care of things.

He would have been fine even without our help. But since he had us, he was using his head and saving the important ’plausibility’ points.

"They will be fine, she had treated worse epidemics. Anyway... an intergalactic virus that shouldn’t have existed on a small planet like this one... how the hell did it come to this place?"

The academy was a separate closed space that was practically separate from the outside world.

There were separating barriers of the system itself so a virus like this that definitely did not originate in this place, must have come from the outside. It was the only explanation I had right now.

However, even if we consider this possibility, how the hell did the great headmaster, the near omnipotent, omniscient being, miss something so important?

"Well... you already know that thing came from the outside, so that is that."

He took a deep breath and with the same calm expression that he had most of the time, he looked back at me and shook his head.

"It was a mistake from my side, I accept it. I was preoccupied with the changes in the midterm schedules and the special tests so when one of the students that had went out using the purchased one time outing pass returned, I missed the virus stains that they were carrying.

And you know how Blue Death is almost undetectable. Even with my authorities, I’m not capable of noticing something that was born to be not get noticed by someone like me."

He signed... he was the headmaster and the most powerful being of this world, a part of the offspring of the Worldline and someone that had diverse powers, authorities and permissions.

He was a supreme being in true meaning and it was a fact. And still, he was sighing right in my face.

"If I have to blame someone for this mistake though, it would be none other than the two of you."

"What?"

"You now have an epic, dummy. How am I supposed to have you two in the same exam as the rest of the students? It’s not fair."

"..."

He was the headmaster of not just this academy but every great academy that existed in this Worldline. And even though the power of the fragments that operated the various academies in various worlds varied greatly, the fact that they were connected to the main body remained the same.

"Is there a problem with the system-."

"I’m still the same, you damn boy. Stop cursing me like that in that strange head of yours."

Since we had the {Six Walls} he could not see through us completely but still, he didn’t need to read our heads to understand what I was thinking right now.

"You sure?"

"Enough with this foolery. The virus came from the outside and I could not track its origins so it seems like a higher power was involved in this incident.

They must be out of their minds for aiming for the academy however, if the ones that did it had connections with the higher beings that have some kind of objective in mind, which again would most probably be connected to the two of you, then I don’t think I’ll be able to help you outside the academy."

In short, he was saying that someone else aimed for us and that they were doing this to get rid of us... dumb people.

This was a new thing, so it was obvious it was happening before us.

But then again, the reason this was happening might just be because the ones that were behind this thing were after something completely else.

"Who was the one that brought it in?"

There might not have been any attack and this might just be some kind of ultimate misunderstanding.

One thing might have led to another and that poor kid might have ended up with that deadly virus somewhere.

It was a possibility, so we couldn’t just overlook that either.

"It was an elf boy from class B. I believe his name is Naìl Clipaar. He was the carrier that brought it here, and according to the records, it had gone to his home at the elvan kingdom.

He might have picked this from there as well. It’s a possibility."

And the possibility wasn’t small either since there were many eyes looking to get a piece of the elves.

"I see. Thanks for the help, headmaster. I’ll take my leave as well."

There were a few more things I wanted to ask him, but since the situation was still not resolved, we first have to stabilise this academy.

The rest of the world cannot wait till then, we know that, but the fact that we cannot save every person from strange happenings was something we had accepted a long time ago.

We had no need to save all of the people of this world anyway.

They weren’t that useful to us, and the virus wasn’t going to affect the common population anytime soon, so now that the headmaster already knew about this, he could also deal with the problem as a whole.

’But he was still bound by the rules and he was still a bastard.’

He was going to do what he wanted and there was going to be problems all around the world thanks to the appearance of this unique virus.

"I’ll gather the infected in the centre of academy plaza. Come there when you are done with your personal work."

He had prevented the basic damage but, the problem itself wasn’t solved yet.

The epidemic was still spreading and there were still things happening around us that we had to deal with.

So, after saying my goodbye to the headmaster, I went back to my dormitory where El had already taken appropriate actions.

"Lu!"

"How much did she do, Miss Eva?"

Miss Eva was the only one present in the living room and according to what I can see in the surveillance footage, El was currently treating one of the younger Fools, a member of Red Heart, the team that was under me.

"Lu! What is going-."

"It’s alright, Miss Eva. It could have been a serious problem but we found out about it earlier.

El is taking care of the things here and she has Anna and

Friday by her side.

AJ is helpful as well since he can control the Blood and the Mana in Cary’s place so he will make things easier for them."

Marciel family adults possessed a deep understanding of medicine of their own world which was far more advanced than ours so they knew how to treat people in times of epidemic as well, so they were providing a great help to her.

And ultimately, they all were doing well.

"Don’t worry about her. She is an expert."

At one point when this world still only used to be a game to us, she operated one of the biggest multiversal hospitals in the worldline.

There were few hospitals in the Worldline that could compare to that establishment and she operated the entire place on her own.

She was the head of her own department as well that dealt with all kinds of illnesses and diseases.

’She knew what one had to do to deal with a Blue death epidemic.’

She had already saved a number of worlds from this disaster, so she knew what she had to do to prevent another world from falling apart due to this terrible disaster.

"Anyway, will you help me look for someone named Naìl Clipaar? He should be living somewhere on the middle floors."

"Hmm? What? Why do you have to find this person?"

"It’s important so let’s go. Leave everything here to her. It’s her area of specialty."

We had to do something that we were good at as well. She shouldn’t be the only one that was working that hard for everyone else.

"If... if you say so."

Miss Eva could tell whatever that was going on right now wasn’t something simple.

This was important as well as serious.

Lives were at stake here and things might become even more complicated if things continued the way they were.

’Oceans always look calm from afar.’

There was something big going on here and it was dangerous.

And, if there was any possibility that a power that could challenge the authority of the headmaster of this world was involved in this matter, then, there was a good reason for all of us to stay alert.

’Whatever had spread this epidemic in the academy, might just be after something bigger.’

And even the headmaster wasn’t going to be enough to block them if those people were aiming for not the academy itself, but every student and teacher affiliated with it.
