Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 369 The emperor*
[OP: ]
-Step. Step. Step.
A lone figure walked through the marvellous castle hall of the great castle of the Barnacle empire.
Then, the same lone future walked through the stairs leading to the ground floor of the castle.
The lone figure walked through the vast garden present outside the palace, and, after reaching a certain gate of the castle, he covered himself in a simple looking black hood and walked out of the castle gates with the knights standing frozen in their place.
They neither stop him nor did they show any reaction to him.
They were standing in their places when he reached this gate and they were still in that same place till the figure walked out of the place.
There were no great reactions from them as if the person— their very own emperor, did not exist for them.
But being indifferent to his presence and activities was their job. Which they did well.
-Step. Step. Step.
The emperor walked out of the palace and towards the city, then after walking through teh streets of the great blessed city, he walked towerds the gates of the city.
Half of the day passed just like that, and by the time evening graced the bustling city, he was at the northern gates of the capital city.
"Not many people noticed him and those who did did not see anything special in him as if he was just a regular person that was walking on the streets.
There was also no reaction from the guards that checked his ID before he left the city. And even the travellers who saw his face, he was nothing more than a fellow traveller that was also going somewhere.
The evening passed...
-Step. Step. Step.
And he continued walking.
First through the city’s outside road, the grassland that the city was built on. Then, after passing the mountain on foot, and spending the night walking through the mountains, he reached the forest situated below the mountain.
Then, he continued walking...
The next day arrived and he was walking through the forest area filled with furious creatures, yet not a single one of the beasts came anywhere near him.
Mostly, he did not walk through any pl;ace where he could find those beasts and the ones that were unavoidable, he just passed right past them.
He did not bother with those small things since he had to reach somewhere, so, he continued walking.
-Step. Step. Step.
He continued walking for a few more hours.
-Step. Step. Step.
And by the time they the sun reached above his heads he had finally reached the destination— the centre of the forest.
"My lord."
Around thirty individuals fled in dark purple robe had gathered in this place, a magic circle was engraved on the ground here, and, the open area illuminated by the bright light of the sun was illuminating everything present in the surrounding except the the elements under the dark shadows cast by the trees.
"The preparations are complete."
"The hour of dew has arrived as well."
"Hmm."
He looked around the bright open area, at the ground where the complex magic circle was carved, and then he looked up at the bright sun that was gracing them with such a bright light on this important occasion.
"Beguin without any delay."
"Yes, my lord."
The one in the very front of the men clad in suspicious clothing bowed to the emperor, and the rest of them did the same before scattering all across the open vast area.
The magic circle was carved on the ground, not painted but carved with various magical materials.
There were various junctions and cores of this circle, so it was difficult to comprehend just what kind of magic it produced, but, the rest of them seemed to know very well what it did.
"They are ready, my lord."
After scattering all over the various points of this nearly one mile wide magic circle.
There, they started chanting some kind of incantation, and when they did, a distinct red light rose up beneath their feet.
Six circles on the northern end and sixty triangles connected to those circles which ultimately connected to the six stars in the middle.
Similarly, various shapes in the same patters were connected with one another and then with the rest of the magic circle with silver threads that illuminated with a sharp red line.
As the emperor and the leader of the group of the men standing on this circle watched, the magic circle was slowly activated to its initial stage.
-Ooooooooooong...
There was light, and as time passed, it got brighter.
-Oooooooooooooooong...
It got brighter and brighter.
The red became crimson, and the simple magic circle slowly turned into something that looked... sinister.
-Oooooooooooooooooooooooong...!
After some time passed and the sun was not on top of their heads anymore, they had finally reached the first climax of the ritua.
"My lord."
The leader of the group bowed to the empror once again and, awaited the answer of his lord.
The emperor removed his hood, and with the same deep red eyes that both he and his offsprings possessed, he looked at the light that had become even deeper red than his eyes... or his hair.
"Do it."
He ordered, no special emotion present in his eyes that were focused on not present, but on the future that he had foreseen.
He knew his doom was inevitable, however, his success in this place today was going to change a lot of things...
"Yes, my lord."
The leader of the group walked to the other side of the place while at the same time, the people scattered all across the place took out a unique looking red dagger from their pockets.
-Swiiiiiiiish...
Winds were blowing lightly today, there was not much sounds present in the surroundings yet, but... only a moment after, the entire area was filled with various noises.
"Why are doing this?!"
Screams of elders.
"N-no...! Leave him! No!!!"
Sounds of crying mothers.
"Aghhhhh! Let me out! Let me out of this!!!"
Voices of the young and older men that were trying to get out of the grasp of the strong mage leader, but their resistance was futile.
-Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish~!
The winds started blowing faster as the light of the magic circle intensified many fold.
"Noooooo!"
The tens, hundreds... around a thousand or more people that were just dragged out of the shadows by the magician captain were screamsing, shouting for their release.
However, the magical binds covering their bodies had given the mage a complete control over their body.
"My lord."
They were merely puppets now, so controlling these bunch, the leader first distributed to various points throughout the magic circle to his fellow mages, and waited for the instructions of his master.
"Let us begin."
The emperor looked at the people, the unique people that possessed the blessing of light attribute, people that he had gathered for this certain occasion, and without any other special emotion, he nodded at the person beside him.
"Understood."
There were a group of children not even a year old, there were women that had not yet given birth, there were young girls, there were young boys, there were adult men, there were lovers, there were families, there were elders and there were adult strong men that were stronger than the adult human men.
But, after being categorised and scattered to various points over this glowing magic circle, they had no choice but to be lay helplessly, and hopelessly.
"Begin."
The leader of the mages ordered his men.
The emperor watched the scene with... a smile on his face as he thought about the unique feature that awaited him.
His servants knew what he wanted, so, they did not delay any longer.
-Ska—chak.
They started with the babies.
Pierced their small, infant bodies with the red blades, and... licked the blood that was left of the blade.
-Ska—chak.
They then killed the young girls that had not yet experienced the winds of love.
-Ska—chak.
The mothers and then the elder women.
-Ska—chak.
The elderly.
-Ska—chak.
The younger boys, and then lastly, they went after the adult men.
-Ska—chak.
They cleaned the blades with their tongue, and when their massacre had come to an end, returning back to the point that was assigned to them... they pieced their own bodies with the blade that had just taken tens, hundreds of lives.
The emperor watched them unflinched. Seeing his own subjects die for him was no new thing for him.
They existed for his sake after all. Their entire lived were there so that he could live better, longer.
Looking back, he had done many bad things. But since he was still alive thanks to those bad things, he did not mind them.
He has down many good things against those bad things as well so logically, the karma that he had built up was neutralised with the good and the bad that he had done throughout his life.
He was doing another bad thing right now, but if he wins this battle and things get better for him, it was ultimately going to be a good thing.
At least... that’s how he justifies everything he does.
"It is complete, my lord."
The leader faced the headmaster, the crimson magic circle behind him glowing with a kind of red light that could only be described as evil.
There was black mixed with this red, and just the mere feeling of this light was sickening... yet, the emperor stood there with an excited smile on his face.
"Yes. It is complete."
The emperor had chased self-eternity his entire life, so when he knew he was going to have to face something as strong as that death knight, or the entire force of that fortress, he wasn’t foolishly going to go to that battlefield empty handed.
"Good work."
He took the last remaining red dagger from the leader and stood before him at the edge of the magic circle.
"Glory to the immortal emperor."
He shoved that dagger into his body, twisted it... and at the same time, he infused his own blood in the blade.
"Contract: initiate."
He wasn’t going to go down that easily.
He had survived until now, and, he was going to live more.
He was going to live... for ever.
