[Lucy’s POV: ]

"He... hehehehe. Kekekeke~. Should I cast an aphrodisiac magic?"

"Quit it, El. Don’t bother them."

"Hehehehe... this is what we had been waiting for and now that they are together, how could I not-."

-Smack!

I had no choice but to forcefully close the surveillance videos and smack her head for doing something like that.

"We have better things to focus on so give them the time they need.

Rushing here will lead to something similar to ’that’ time."

This wasn’t the first time she had tried to bring Cathy and Rex together. There had been times in our game world where she tried various things to bring various people together.

She even succeeded a few times and they got together, got intimate, even got to the point where they got married and had kids... but there were always problems with some of the relationships.

’Like with AJ.’

That poor bastard was never right with any of the ladies of this academy, or the outside world as a matter of fact.

He never ended up with a workable relationship, and at the end, he either ended up killing his partners, or his departure left them so unstable that they mostly ended up killing themselves.

’That’s why none of the prominent ladies of this world were the right match for him.’

Though, Miss Eva’s presence changed everything in that equation.

"Hump! Bastard! What’s more important than seeing those two cuties have segs-."

"A month has left for the battle with the emperor and we have practically not even started the preparations.

The others that that will fight alongside us don’t even know they will fight in this battle.

Is there anything more concerning than this? Your futile and unethical attempts most certainly aren’t, ok?"

She already knew they weren’t going to go beyond their limitations... they might not even kiss until the battle with the emperor is over.

Using magic and tricking them into following their desires was of no use since even if she did manage to accomplish her goals, they wouldn’t be happy with what they did and their relationship might fall apart.

She knew that, and so she wasn’t going to do anything foolish anymore.

’She had done all kinds of stuff with the connection and relationships of these individuals and she had learned a lot already.’

She knew what was best for them and she knew what was not good for their relationship, so right now, she was just wasting the precious time that we have.

"We have a month! A whole damn fucking month! And what do you want me to do anyway? It’s your battle, your epic. I have nothing to do with this!"

She was right to say that she had nothing to do with the epic since if she had anything to do with it, it wouldn’t be a personal solo epic.

I had to do everything about it myself and I had already started what I needed to do, so that wasn’t anything of concern.

Still, her statement was technically not correct.

"Of course you have many things to do with this ’fight’ you damn girl. How do you expect me to handle the entire fortress by myself?

I’ll be on the battlefield leading the ones on the battlefield while the fortress will hang in the sky.

You will look after the strategic objectives from above and follow my direct orders and assign the orders to the undead.

And we have a lot of things to prepare before the actual battle so, don’t even think about slipping off."

Today was a holiday and we were bored. Mutuality.

The academic things were all sorted out, our first year was going to end soon, and the holidays were coming as well.

’We will be done with the end term exams for the first year by the time the day do the battle comes.’

By the time the newly enthroned Rex stabilises the empire and new challenges greet us, the holidays will end and he will have to come back to the academy, leaving the management of the empire in the wonderful hands of the proxies that he chooses... or, people that we chose. People of Fool’s Gambit.

The holy empire will soon start acting up in the absence of the empire and the Pope, after receiving inevitable revelations from the gods that they serve, will wage war against not the empire, but against us thieves that helped the crown prince rise up to that position.

’The battle with the pope and his entire faction... will be her stage.’

At least, that was the plan.

"Ughhhh! Bastard! Can’t we just have a single day off and chill?! Sleep around and kiss, and smoulder each other in our bodily fluids?!"

"Don’t say weird things like that. We aren’t doing any of that today... let’s go and tell the Spades about the battle first."

We had to tell the Spades along with the Clubs. And since they aren’t going to be interacting or know much about one another, it would be pretty tough guiding them separately.

’But we can handle that much.’

That wasn’t the issue here.

Telling all of them separately about this battle would be the issue.

"Hump. Why do you even need me? It’s already like you own them, just do this by yourself as well."

"Not again..."

This battle would be like a debate for the spades and many of the individuals that are part of it.

All the numbers as well as the king, queen, and the joker of the group had already been gathered and trained like the members of the Clubs.

They were a group of high ranking officials of certain places or power and authority holders representing Nobility or the military power of the Fools.

It would be interesting seeing them on field along with the members of the Clubs. But... even though both of these Groups belonged to her, she was upset that I was using them much more than she did.

"Under the circumstances, we need them and their powers. It’s not simply the matter of who’s using them, what matters is the results that they are producing."

Just like the members of Clubs, we both had gathered the rest of them together as well.

She was incharge of the Clubs and the Spades, the Black houses. While I was in charge of the Red houses, Diamond and Heart— houses that weren’t going to play any particular role in this war. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Both Diamond and Heart would play an important role after this battle, especially when we will have to fight with the holy forces of the pope, these two houses are going to play an enormous role.

’And she will get her chance to have all of them to herself at that time.’

Right now, I had to do many of the things by myself and if she was going to act so patty about something so serious, she was just better off not doing anything at all.

But, that was exactly what she wanted me to think.

"That act isn’t going to work and you know that, so just stop this and let us go."

She was doing this s8nce she really didn’t want to do any work today either. We had been doing a lot of things this week but we had been chilling since yesterday.

’We practically just slept the entire day yesterday.’

There was a lot of fatigue from all the work we had been doing this past week and all that was relieved yesterday.

We were fine now so there really was no need to rest anymore.

There were more important things to take care of other than our friends and this academy.

The cleaning duty was shit and tough, but if I’m handling myself though something like that, she can at least handle herself through something as simple as her boredom.

"Tsk. Must we go and tell all of them like right now? Can’t we play for even five minutes~~?"

"You used that trick yesterday, dear. Not again."

She knew how to turn five minutes into five hours very well.

Even yesterday, she asked if we could just rest for a few minutes, have a shut eye as she put it... and I foolishly agreed as well.

We were resting the entire night and day as well so I believed she wouldn’t start anything funny but... I was wrong to have have faith in this witch.

"What trick~? I’m just saying we should-."

"Nah. Let’s go."

Without waiting any further, I channelled my Mana to put her Mana clothes back on her, and pressed the teleportation button on my card to transport both of us outside this special bedroom of ours.

It was a good place that we made only for ourselves so not even Anna and Cathy accompanied us when we were there.

But we didn’t usually do any of that personal stuff outside in this main hall room where Eva was cleaning up a few things along with Friday.

"Oh? You two done with your long rest?"

"Hump! Bastard!"

She didn’t like how I forcefully took her out of her heaven of pleasure.

-Slap!

She slapped my face... which hurt, like usual, and walked outside the hall into the balcony garden where Cary was watering his special plants that he had grown himself.

"What was it this time?"

Miss Eva came to me with a pack of ice, a smile present on her face while Friday, already knowing the situation, continued on with his work.

"Nothing much..."

This was the most common kind of morning for all of us, so, they weren’t that surprised anymore.

They were used to seeing this kind of things every mornings and sometimes even crazier things so, according to their current standards, it wouldn’t be surprising for them even if a god or demon were to have breakfast with us one of these days.
