[Lucy’s POV: ]

There are three very important things one needs for a battle, or a war like this one.

"So, we are going to fight for the crown prince?"

"Not exactly for him, but yes. You are going to fight from his side. Though, you’ll have to make sure you aren’t risking your lives.

This task isn’t as important as your life."

One needed a great capital for a large scale battle like this one.

One needed weapons and individuals to fight in this battle.

There weren’t that many skilled individuals in this world if we saw it statistically, so one needed the strength of numbers as well as strength of highly skilled individuals that could deal with the people on the same level as the members of our little group.

"Ah~! I see! So it’s like mercenary work~! We will get something for helping the crown prince’s side."

The Queen of Clubs was a unique individual that lived her insect babies a little too much.

Those things even roamed around this labyrinth like house and some had even figured out the map of all the available areas.

She was smart, but she was a cool individual that was easy to converse with as well.

"Yes. We will get something very good for helping him with this war.

In fact... we will be getting everything that the current emperor will leave behind.

That’s why not just the twelve of you but also the rest of the personnel on the fortress, as well as from ’other’ sides will join you from our side as well."

We were in the general discussion room of our dorm room, a place where we mostly held these important meetings with the members of the clubs, or the dark thieves that have already made quite the name for themselves all over the world.

"Wait what? The entire empire...? What the hell does that mean?"

First of all, they don’t know anything that goes on outside of this dorm room so some of them don’t even know that they are currently inside the academy.

Second of all, they don’t know that we are students at the academy... they know the existence of the youngest masters in the academy since we told them about all that ourselves, but the information that they possess is quite limited.

’One or two of them might have had the idea that we were the same children that had made a big name even before getting out of the academy, but they weren’t certain.’

And they never will be certain since they associate us with some of the higher order beings and nor mortals.

’Some of these dumb ones even think that we are gods playing human.’

They didn’t know about the restrictions of the Worldline so they were thinking something foolish, but that was that.

They weren’t bad people and they most certainly weren’t going to know about our identities anytime soon, and even if they did find out who we were... nothing was going to change.

The fact that we were ’very strong’ will remain the same. That was perhaps the reason many of them didn’t even try to find out who we were.

"We will have the empire and, well, we can think about the other things later.

The only things that you all have to know would be your roles in this battle."

They were strong individuals that were the most experienced among the four other groups.

They knew how the two of us operated the best, so it was pretty easy to work with them now.

"First of all, let’s get the basics down."

The battle for the throne was going to be fought between the emperor of the Barnecle empire and the crown prince that had received the most support among the other princes.

This battle will not involve the citizens of the empire or forces from the other nations and will only be fought by the individuals that both parties have under them.

The emperor, on the surface, possesses an army of over three thousand well trained solders that are comparable to some of the knights of the empire.

And this is his personal army... on paper at least.

Then there is the individuals that follow him directly— the three great mages and weapon welders of the empire.

They possess power equal to a small force and are powerful enough to destroy a few cities of a small nation all by themseves.

They are directly under the emperor’s command and follow no one else... but they aren’t the only ones that the emperor has raised.

"According to the real reports of our sources, the emperor has fostered an army of around thirty thousand soldiers, ten thousand archers, five thousand machine soldiers equipped with the state of the art technology, and five hundred strong force of highly trained knights that all can use Aura.

There are a total of thirty swordmasters under the command of the emperor, twelve Spellmasters, and fifteen highest level assassin that have mastered stealth.

Additionally, there is the mages towers, the alchemy unions, the magic engineering department of the castle, and the scholers and inventors that have developed various destructive and siege weapons in the last few centuries."

The forces that the emperor actually possesses surpasses any force any other nation possessed at the moment.

And since the emperor was a greedy bastard, he wasn’t going to stop at just the forces that he possessed.

He would go on and get more help from the adventurers and Mercenaries.

And we aren’t even talking about the undead and artificial help that he can gather with the kind of authority and power that he possesses over this world.

"The difference between the two forces is going to be massive..."

It was no great maths that we would face a big threat to our lives while fighting on that battlefield.

"But we don’t have to worry about the size of the army."

If they had number, the we also had a numbers.

We just had to use those numbers alongside the money that we possess and the kind of armies that we were going to possess.

"We are stronger than them in all aspects at the moment. Still..."

The doors of the empire were closed already so be it because of the public interest or because of his ’pure’ nature but the emperor wasn’t going to ask for help from the outside anymore.

He had a great force already and adding the forces that he will gather from his spectators, as well as from his contracted dimensional merchant, he knew he will have a basic fighting chance against the forces of the fortress.

Still, since he knew the ones that he will be facing against would be Us two and not just the forces of the fortress, he had to prepare for the counterattack.

And, he was already done with that thing.

"The emperor now possesses a kind of power no one in this world previously possessed, so dealing with him will be more difficult than you think.

But still... this is your chance."

This particular group was with us because they also had some of the things that they wished to obtain.

And we had promised them the opportunity to get those things, obtain what they wished, and get past what they could not have just with their strength.

They weren’t simple, normal individuals but special and unique ones.

They knew the kind of strength that they possessed so they knew the kind of strength that the opponent that they had to go against would have.

Thankfully, they weren’t the same individuals that they were before we found them.

"Show the world you aren’t just some thieves that steal things. Show them your strength, your commitment, your courage, and your ambition."

The house of clubs was a strong place for someone that had a simple, common desire.

The eleven people that are part of this group- Friday, their joker not included- possess a unique talent that they are best at.

’They did not know about it when they met us, but now things were different.’

Thanks to us, they knew what they could do and what they were capable of.

"Alright then. Let’s talk about the formations and geography of the battlefield-."

"Ummm, Lord Black... all things considered... why are you acting as if Lady White doesn’t exist, at all?"

"Ah... well..."

Ever since the morning where I declined her ’wish’ to spend this wonderful holiday cooped up in that bedroom doing the same things that we did yesterday.

She wanted to play around today as well when we could do something much more productive on this nice day.

’She knew we had a lot of work and she still did not show any interest in this important work.’

Even after we got out of the bedroom, had breakfast and came here, she was acting as if nothing really mattered to her besides her own wish.

She was not playing fair and since she was doing it like that, I also had no choice but to just ignore her.

"Let’s just say we are having a fight."

She was playing with the familiars of these people that she had trained herself without saying anything at all even though this group of people belonged to her.

"Haaaa... well, let’s just continue with what we were doing."

They were smart people and after being with us for such a long time, they had already figured out the kind of relationship we had.

There was no need for them to pay attention to our matters since they already knew it wouldn’t affect them in any way.

So... they just ignored her as well.

And we went back to the discussion we were having.
