Chapter 375: 375 Departure to the battlefield

[OP: ]

The emperor of the great barnacle had been on the throne for more than a few eras now, and in all this time, there had not been a single individual that had ever challenged him for the throne.

However, as the stories of his own exploits told, the crown princes of the empire that were the most influential figures among the other Princes and princesses had the .

certain rights to challenge the emperor for the rights to the throne.

He himself had defeated the previous emperor in a battle and came to power however, there had not been a single individual that had ever done the same in the history of this world.

Every single one of the offsprings of the emperor were never influential enough to possess any kind of authority within this nation, and they also weren’t knowledgeable about the rights that they could posssess.

There had been a few ambitious ones who attempted to take the throne from him, but as the current members of the royal family knew, he was the only being that had been sitting on this throne for as long as any of them could remember. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

The emperor Kadeloth Paras De Barnacle was an absolute being, a master of the swords, magic, and various other arts.

He possessed talent and the knowledge and intellect to back it up.

He was not just some simple human being that could be called a genius. He was a monster that possessed and longed for more power.

In his numerous years of rule in this empire, he had experienced the borders of the empire by many folds, taken over many other nations, set up cities in the newly reclaimed lands, and with the help of the powerful individuals that he nurtured himself, he had the power unlike any ruler of this world.

He was one of a kind being that refused the status of the higher being and remained on this throne to rule over the people of the empire, his subjects that he believed to be more than just his property.

He was a kind of individual that could not let go of the authority that he alredy possessed for something that would take away everything that he possessed at the moment.

His desire for the preservation of the empire, the preservation of his own rule over the land that he Owned, was more solid than the wishes of a being with great determination.

He was obsessed with his role as the emperor himself, so much so that he ended up doing countless unethical, heinous things just to preserver his title and existence.

"Shall we?"

"Yes, let’s go."

He sacrificed the individuals that he was supposed to look after, not rule over.

He was not a bad individual, he was just twisted and had unique strong ideologies that were different from the worldly norms.

In the grand sense of the Worldline, he was no special individual as there were much worse rulers present all over the corners of the universe, so he wasn’t really that unique a person.

But, in the point of view of the world that they lived in, he was a tyrant that killed his own people to prolong his life, destroyed and manipulated history, played with the lives of the people of his own nation, and if that wasn’t enough, he possessed powers to make changed to the existing structure of the world.

"Did you take everything-."

"I said I’m ready, let’s go now, shall we?"

"Alright."

He possessed the highest level of Authority in this world, his interactions with higher beings were more unique than the normal interactions of the people of the world.

He was knowledgeable about the worlds beyond this one and knew much more about the Worldline than the other beings thanks to his curiosity and the Dimensional merchant that he was fortunate to have a connection with.

Thanks to all that he had, he was able to create a kind of legacy in this world that not only had resulted in a great story itself, it was something that the others would want to experience as well... that was why many of his offsprings had challenged his authority throughout history.

However, none had ever succeeded.

As a matter of fact, none of them were ever influential or strong enough to force him into a official battle of the throne.

Until now, they were all strong and smart so they at least did some kind of damage to the emperor, but all that was nothing compared to what the current Crown Prince was able to accomplish.

"Anna, please prepare the gate."

[{ Yes, master. }]

The crown prince, Morexis Von Jivan Kadeloth Paras De Barnacle.

He was a unique individual that had been the most charismatic, intelligent, and special among all the offsprings that the emperor has had in all this time.

He was the only son of a person that he had loved as a mortal being, so he was special to him.

But, thanks to the kind of otherworldly knowledge that he possessed, thanks to all the help that he had provided him with his knowledge, intellect and insight into the matters of this world, he was able to achive much more than wheat he had in last few eras.

He liked him more than his hundreds of other offerings, he used him well and helped him reach the maximum potential he should have reached.

He gave him the title of the crown prince, and the people that admired and accepted his role were also numerous.

He knew this child of his was special.

However, even he had not expected him to be so special that he would threaten the authority that he had maintained for all this time.

-Ooooooooooooooooooooooong!

He joined hands with the worst and most dangerous thieves that the world had ever seen.

He somehow got them on his side, and along with them, he got many other nobles that the emperor had used all this time.

A smart person, a strong leader, and someone that possessed a gentle side to him unlike the ruthless emperor that had become even more aggressive after the death of the prince’s mother.

His own child that he somewhat liked among all the other offsprings had now become a kind of threat that he couldn’t just silence the same way he had done with the others that had ever posed any threat to his position.

He had become a danger that even the emperor could not overlook anymore, so at the end, he had no choice but to accept the current reality...

"We are here..."

On the barren lands once ruled over by the demons of hell, the dead wasteland that once used to be a black land of darkness, the great battle between the emperor and the crown prince was going to commence in a short time.

Both forces had gathered on this land, the emperor’s side taking camp in the western end of the plains, while the prince’s side was present on the eastern end.

There was a unfathomable gap between two forces as even at just a glance, one could tell that the forces that the emperor currently possessed were at least three times larger than the other side.

He had soldiers, he had knights, he had beasts caged in large numbers, he had golems, he had necromancers and even summoners.

There were large summoning circles drawn on the battlefield already and the kind of forces that were visible to the two that just walked out of the spatial gate were obviously a sight that they had already expected.

"He came prepared."

There were high level magic engineered technology on this battlefield as well, so this wasn’t just the sight of some mediaeval battlefield filled with armoured soldiers, and steel weapons.

The kind of weaponry that was going to be used in this battle far surpassed the older weapons that one might visualise when the term ’war’ or ’battle’ were used.

"Well, they aren’t shit. They will go down easily if they aren’t underestimating us."

There were flying chariots, giant beasts that could fly, spirits that could change the face of the earth.

There were artificial lifeforms made solely with the purpose of destruction with the strength equal to that of the knights and stronger individuals.

All these forces belonged only to the emperor, and they followed him with all their loyalty.

They were bound by him as people raised by the emperor and their bonds transcended the realm of logical reasoning.

Many of them knew just what kind of person he was, many of them knew what kind of bad things he did, and many of them knew how bad he actually was, and still, they followed him.

They devoted their lives to him, their saviour and their teacher, the one who gave them what they had, the one who was the sole reason for their existence.

"Anyway, where’s that dumb bastard of mine?! They should have been here by now!"

The other side, the side of the crown prince, was not as strong looking as the opposition.

There were only a few thousand soldiers present, only a few hundred knights and there weren’t many strong individuals that they could call world renowned masters.

There were certainly a few strong individuals that even the other side might not have expected, but compared to the other side, the forces of the crown prince seemed minuscule.

"Let’s wait a little. They should be here anytime soon now."

Thankfully, the forces of the crown prince currently present on this battlefield were only a portion of the force that he was going to lead.

There was still an entire day left before they started the battle and he himself had left the academy a few hours ago, so they should be here shortly.

The other side that was mocking the foolishness of the crown prince right now, will soon realise just why even the supreme emperor had to resort to a battle of this scale just to deal with a mere mortal offspring of his...
