Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations-Chapter 1165: Accidentally Bumping Into His Arms
At the entrance of Ian Shelby’s office, Jocelyn Morgan stopped in her tracks. The door was open, but his figure was absent, and everything inside was spotless and tidy.
Where is he?
Just as Jocelyn was about to turn and leave, she suddenly bumped into a firm, warm chest.
Ian Shelby stood there with his hands in the pockets of his white coat, gently gazing down at her without offering a hand to steady her.
"Sorry!" The girl quickly raised her eyes, suddenly crashing into his gaze.
It’s him!
For a brief moment, Jocelyn felt he was like a prince from a celestial kingdom, exuding a kind of pure aura, especially with that jet-black, elegant hair that made him look sophisticated.
That exceptionally handsome face always held a gentle expression, and he was staring at her intently.
"Dr. Shelby..." Jocelyn quickly regained her composure and suppressed the trace of panic inside. "I came to ask about my aunt’s condition. Are you very busy?" She then quickly moved aside.
"Dean Shelby!"
In the corridor, a nurse came hurrying over.
"Look for Dr. Ford," Ian told her, not asking for the reason.
The nurse glanced at him, then at Jocelyn, and sensibly dashed off to Vera Ford’s office.
"I’m not busy," Ian said to Jocelyn, and as he finished speaking, he passed her and walked into the office.
What?
He calls that not busy??
Jocelyn quickly followed in, stopping at his desk, taking a deep breath. "Dr. Shelby, thank you."
"Helping people heal is a doctor’s duty, no need to thank me." Ian didn’t look at her, holding the mouse as he checked something on the system.
"..." Well now, that left Jocelyn feeling awkward.
Ian said, "Your aunt’s stomach condition needs care. If it’s convenient, she could stay in the hospital for a few days, get some IV drips, and take medication after being discharged."
"Can it be completely cured?" Jocelyn asked. "I’d heard that stomach issues can’t be fully treated before."
"I’m a doctor, do you trust me?" Ian raised his eyes, their gazes meeting.
In his calm eyes, the girl saw a trace of warmth, "Of course," she nodded.
Ian looked back down, "I’ll also create a diet plan for her. After discharge, she can follow it for nourishment and health, with a focus on stomach care."
"Thank you," Jocelyn expressed her gratitude sincerely.
Ian asked her, "Can you only say those two words?"
"..." She was momentarily taken aback, normally talkative, now she found it hard to say anything.
For some reason, when facing him, her mind often went blank!
"No need to thank me. Just invite me for a meal sometime," Ian said offhandedly.
"Sure!" She replied quickly.
He raised his eyes to look at her, explaining, "I don’t eat out."
"Wha-what do you mean?"
"Have a chance to come to my place and cook for me," Ian said straightforwardly.
Jocelyn blinked, "Why don’t you eat out? Didn’t you and Dr. Ford go out to eat the other day? That was a restaurant!"
"..." This time, it was Ian’s turn to be at a loss for words.
Soon, someone knocked on the office door, "Dean Shelby." Clearly, there was something to report.
Jocelyn took a couple of steps back, "Dr. Shelby, you go ahead," she said before turning to leave.
The doctor at the door entered.
Jocelyn returned to the ward, her heart still pounding, what did he mean?
Ian didn’t seem like someone who would joke idly... how strange.
"I must say, this IV drip is very effective; I feel my body gradually recovering, and my spirit is quite good," Jasmine joyfully looked at the hanging bottle. "It must be Dr. Shelby’s own concoction, right?"
Seeing her in good spirits brought a smile to Jocelyn’s face, "I don’t know, as long as it works."
"Did you thank him properly?"
"I did."
"Find some time to invite him for a meal, even though he’s very busy, he must have days off. He can’t be at the hospital every day, and he has to eat even if he’s there."
"Okay," Jocelyn nodded in agreement.
"Jocelyn, what will you do without your laptop?" Jasmine suddenly remembered, looking a bit worried. "You haven’t written today’s novel, have you?"
