Undead Mage: I Have a Skeleton Clone-Chapter 630 - 429: Corpse Materials, Fang Zhou’s Undead Arsenal
When the Heroic Spirit Battle Banner was unfurled, the faint sound of a Heroic Spirit’s roar echoed like exploding thunder. Immediately, a faint blue light emanated from Fang Zhou, spreading out in all directions.
Bathed in the glow, the students of the Sea City Military Academy felt a surge of courage rising in their chests. The exhaustion and timidity that had gripped their hearts just moments before vanished without a trace, like shadows in the sunlight.
"Is this... a precious battle-type treasure?" Kai exclaimed in surprise.
Then he saw a chaotic, swirling mass of Death Magic Power appear above Fang Zhou’s raised left hand. This spell structure glowed a deep blue, rotating slowly in the air and instilling a natural sense of dread in all who saw it.
Charging Scroll! Bone Spirit Pearl enhancement! Dusk State amplification!
Under this triple enhancement, Fang Zhou unleashed the Skeleton Shock Wave he had been charging.
A bizarre ball of energy, trailing a long fiery tail, flew from Fang Zhou’s hand and landed in the densest cluster of Mud Spring Banshees.
BOOM!
The colossal explosion shook heaven and earth. The resulting shockwave surged outward, so powerful that it even rattled the dark clouds the Magic Professional students had summoned in the sky.
From the epicenter of the explosion, waves of ghostly blue energy rolled out in every direction. The soggy-looking Mud Spring Banshees merely had to touch the ghostly blue light to begin crackling and convulsing like dry firewood. Enveloped by Death Energy, the Mud Spring Banshees shrieked and scrambled about chaotically, spreading their panic to others who hadn’t been caught in the Skeleton Shock Wave’s blast.
In the blink of an eye, all the Mud Spring Banshees that had been blocking their path were reduced to terrifying, corroded carcasses.
"Merciful Spirit of Nature...," Kai’s voice rasped, sounding as dry and grating as gears in need of oil, before it broke off completely.
"Now is our chance! Break out! All troops, charge!"
All the spectators, including Kai, were stunned into silence by the horrific devastation Fang Zhou had wrought. But Fang Zhou didn’t pause for a moment. He continued to brandish the Undead Magic Ball, flinging terrifying Undead Magic upon the now much smaller crowd of Mud Spring Banshees.
Simultaneously, he commanded the Warriors of the Expedition Team to form a charge formation, preparing for a counteroffensive.
Kai snapped back to his senses. Roaring, he charged forward, swinging his Long Spear in a whirlwind of motion. Any Mud Spring Banshees that got close to him were sliced apart by the blade, which burned with emerald green Battle Qi, and were reduced to lifeless, stinking piles of flesh.
The Calamity Squad, the Gale Squad, the Thunderfire Squad, and their Natural Allies also charged. Without hesitation, they followed Fang Zhou’s Undead Summoned Creatures, which had just switched from defense to offense, and plunged into the horde of Mud Spring Banshees.
Although these Mud Spring Banshees showed many signs of Undead Transformation, they were not yet complete Undead Creatures. Thus, they did not possess the cold, unfeeling mind typical of the Undead. Caught between Fang Zhou’s Magic Storm and the continuous charges from the Combat Professional students, most Mud Spring Banshees could only flail their arms and stagger about before being corroded into scorched, twisted masses.
Whenever the Mud Spring Banshees showed a tendency to regroup, Fang Zhou instantly noticed their movements, thanks to the Skeleton Bat squad providing a clear aerial view. Then, under his precise command, other Magic Professional students would unleash a barrage of long-range spells.
A particularly loud thunderclap boomed overhead, followed by another. A bolt of lightning, like a spear hurled from the heavens, pierced into the group of Mud Spring Banshees surrounding the team. Screams rose one after another.
Then came a second bolt, a third... A total of five consecutive lightning strikes bombarded them, finally halting the Mud Spring Banshees’ assault. Now, the Natural Expedition Team held an absolute advantage on the battlefield.
In the sky, Harpies and Skeleton Bats patrolled back and forth, searching for the unknown enemy hiding behind the Mud Spring Banshees. So far, however, their search had yielded nothing.
Fang Zhou frowned. He realized the culprit behind the Mud Spring Banshees’ Undead Transformation had likely already slipped away amidst the chaos.
Having made this judgment, he no longer held back. He commanded the fired-up Natural Expedition Team to completely annihilate the Mud Spring Banshees they had been fighting for over half an hour.
Soon, with the final shriek of the last Mud Spring Banshee, the battle was over. Under Fang Zhou’s command, the Natural Expedition Team had effortlessly annihilated the entire horde of undead-transformed Mud Spring Banshees without suffering any casualties.
Before the loot could sink into the depths of the swamp, Gu Yueyuan and Zhang Wu led the others in a hurried scavenging of the battlefield. In the Era of Myth, every last bit of usable resource was extremely valuable. Thus, all students from the Sea City Military Academy had cultivated the good habit of collecting spoils promptly to sustain their war efforts.
Fang Zhou wasn’t idle, either. He pulled out some dissection equipment from his Space Storage Capsule and set up a makeshift dissection area. He then began directing his Undead Creatures to dissect the usable Mud Spring Banshee corpses.
Soon, Fang Zhou confirmed that the Mud Spring Banshees indeed showed extensive signs of Undead Transformation. Due to unknown modification techniques, they were in a bizarre, half-living, half-dead state.
With the delight of an expert finding a rare specimen, Fang Zhou collected all the Mud Spring Banshee corpses. Putting aside any potential connection these Mud Spring Banshees had with the Naraku Civilization tomb deep within the Withered Swamp, the signs of Undead Transformation alone were a goldmine. They were sure to provide a wealth of useful inspiration and Skill Materials for Master Sandro’s Artificial Undead Skills.
