Chapter 110: I THOUGHT YOU LIKE DRAMA...

Greyson lifted his hand to stop Dylan and Hazel’s argumentation. He looked at both of his children and was displeased with either of them.

Dylan stopped arguing with Hazel, but he didn’t stop glaring at her while Hazel crossed her arms and leaned her body. She looked relaxed, but you couldn’t miss how defiant her eyes were.

"Are you being like this to spite me?" Greyson put all of his attention on Hazel. "Do you think your mother will be happy with the way you act like this? You are going to be a mother yourself. You need to understand that."

"Give me a reason that makes sense for me to wear the wedding dress."

"That’s your mother’s inheritance."

"In that case, why don’t you ask Dylan or Logan to wear it? They can wear it on their wedding day, too. I don’t mind." Hazel shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly.

Dylan looked like he wanted to give Hazel a piece of his mind, but one glance from Greyson was enough for him to hold back his tongue.

If there was no one around, Hazel was sure Dylan would have beaten her up for even suggesting that. He was the type of man who always wanted to look manly.

"Oh, and while we are talking about this." Hazel then glanced at Logan, who was chuckling because he found what Hazel said earlier was very funny.

However, what Hazel said next wiped the smile from Logan’s face.

"I will not have you walk me down the aisle. I prefer Logan to do it."

"What!?"

Logan was surprised; a piece of meat was almost stuck in his throat; he didn’t think Hazel would suggest this kind of ridiculous thing for him to do.

What was in her mind? Did she lose her mind?

"Hazel, you have crossed the line!" Dylan slammed his fist against the table.

But Greyson was way more enraged than his son upon hearing that, and it was understandable. This was not the first time Hazel said something like that, but he thought she was only throwing a tantrum.

How wrong he was not to take that seriously.

Hazel met her father’s wrath head-on.

"Say it again," Greyson said rigidly.

"I will have Logan walk me down the aisle." Hazel willingly repeated what she said earlier, but Logan immediately covered her mouth.

Unhappy with this gesture, Hazel bit his palm. It was a good thing that her instinct had dulled a bit because his sudden movement usually would end up with a broken bone.

Hazel threw a sharp look at him, where Logan grimaced in pain.

"No, I didn’t agree about that; you have never said anything about it." Logan waved his hand; he glanced at his father because even though he was the rebellious one among his children, whenever his father was like this, he still felt scared of him.

And now Hazel conveniently put him in the crossfire. He didn’t wish to be punished for something that he didn’t even do.

"I didn’t agree with that." Logan kept waving his hand, and Hazel chose that time to stand up.

"I have nothing else to say, and my decision is final. I will go back to my room." Hazel turned around and then left.

Dylan was screaming behind her, telling her to get back, while Greyson said nothing, yet Hazel could feel his gaze behind her head. It almost bore a hole in the back of her head.

However, to Hazel’s surprise, Logan followed her to her bedroom.

He barged in before Hazel could lock the door. "What is it? Do you want me to kick your butt out of my room?"

"Look, why did you do that? We didn’t talk about it at all. I didn’t agree to walk you down the aisle. Are you going to kill me?"

"You are exaggerating."

Logan rolled his eyes and then pointed behind his shoulder as if their father was there. "Can’t you see the look in our father’s eyes? I am sure he is going to kill me there."

"Oh, that’s why you rush to my bedroom because you are afraid Father is going to kill you?"

"You know how insane our father is sometimes; he might cripple me so I can’t walk."

"I don’t mind pushing your wheelchair." Hazel smiled, imagining that and seemingly having fun with the idea. "You are my favorite brother after all."

"Compared to Dylan? I don’t think that’s a compliment at all."

Hazel laughed at that comment. Well, Logan was more bearable than that Dylan the Jerk. "You like drama, right? And I just gave you one. So, you need to be grateful for that." Hazel patted his shoulder.

"This is not a drama that I want. You put my life in danger."

"Oh, don’t be such a baby. Do you think Father will kill you? At the very least, he will beat you up. You have received so many beatings in your entire life. This will be a walk in the garden."

"I am not happy with that! You put me in the crossfire!"

"Don’t worry. Father will be fine. More so, don’t you feel thrill? You love to rebel against them, right? I give you a showdown now!"

"I will not walk you down the aisle!"

"Fine, fine, do you think I can’t walk by myself?" Hazel replied lightly.

However, instead of leaving her bedroom, Logan went to sit down on the single sofa and bothered Hazel.

"Oh, please, can you leave? I am so tired right now; I want to sleep. Get your ass out of my bedroom!"

Actually, there was something that Hazel wanted from Greyson.

The wedding dress was a sentimental object for Greyson to respect his late wife, but he could let go of that since no one would know about it.

However, walking Hazel down the aisle was a show that would put Greyson’s image at stake; if it were not him, who did the honor?

Based on that, Hazel was sure Greyson would talk to her sooner or later. He wouldn’t let this slide, and Hazel was right about that.

Lucian was worried because it had been a few days since Valerie had come to the office, and he took the initiative to visit her apartment.

This was an apartment in a nice area, and this was the first time for Lucian to come here. Of course, Valerie was surprised to see him here.

"How could you know where I live?" Valerie remembered they never had any conversation about it.

As a response, Lucian grinned from ear to ear. "Well, it’s not hard to find a file about your address."

"What? You looked into my file?" Valerie was speechless. "Don’t you know that it was illegal?"

"What? Are you going to report me?"

"Fine." Valerie shook her head and then let him enter her apartment. "You can sit there; I will get something for you to drink. What do you want to drink?"

"No, I am fine with anything, but if you have bourbon, it will be nice."

"Are you planning to get drunk here?" Valerie scrunched her nose. "I don’t have it."

Lucian laughed. "A coffee will be fine."

"Fine, I will get it for you."

"No, actually, let me make it for myself. You are sick, right?" Lucian observed her briefly; he didn’t find any trace of sickness. To be honest, she didn’t look sick at all.

Did she ditch work?

"What? There is no need for that. I will make it for you."

"No, you are sick, right?"

Valerie was a little bit stuttering when she replied. "No, I am fine now. I feel better now."

Right at the time they heard someone ring the doorbell, and Valerie looked tense. This reaction didn’t go unnoticed by Lucian.

He frowned a little bit. "What is it? Do you know this man?" He glanced at the television, which showed a man outside her door.

Lucian found himself frowning. He was not sure who this man was, but the fact that he could pass the security in the lobby meant Valerie knew who he was.

"Do you know him?"

"Yeah, I know him. Don’t worry. You said you are going to make your coffee. The kitchen is over there." Valerie pointed in the direction of the kitchen. "I will check on him for a while."

And with that, Valerie went to the door without hearing a response from Lucian.

Of course, the way she acted raised a concern in Lucian. He stared at the CCTV instead of making a coffee for himself.

Unfortunately, it didn’t record any sound, so he didn’t know what they were talking about...

"What are you doing here? I told you, don’t come here again. There is someone from my office here. Don’t come inside." Valerie closed the door behind her. "Leave!" she hissed viciously because he didn’t want to leave.

"What’s the problem if there is someone inside your apartment? Are you feeling embarrassed because of me? Do you feel I humiliated you?"

Marcus was slurring his words. He looked like he had just beaten up someone, or it might be that it was he who had been beaten up.

Whatever it was, Valerie didn’t want Lucian to meet with her brother in this condition.

"Give me the money, and I will leave."

"I thought you had a mission. Why do you keep asking me for money?"

Marcus looked at his sister with an impassive expression, and when he tried to enter her apartment, Valerie blocked him.

"Give me the money while I am being nice."
