Chapter 51: A COMMAND AND A REJECTION

Something as huge as a wedding between two affluent families should have been something that you prepared for months in advance, since you needed to decide the venue, the theme, the flowers—everything.

Not to mention the wedding gown. It wouldn’t be too much for Hazel to get a handmade wedding gown that needed six months to one year to be finished.

Yet, everything would be done within two weeks.

"How?"

Hazel had never married before, but she had learned enough about wedding preparations, and two weeks was magic.

The wedding of her cousins needed half a year to be prepared, and those weddings wouldn’t be on the same scale as the wedding between the Leighton and the Rose family.

"How can you accomplish such a wedding within only two weeks?" Hazel’s jaw dropped. She should thank him; her nightmare was forgotten.

"Money solved almost all of your problems." Ranon tilted his head as if that was very obvious.

"What the hell?"

"Mind your language. The baby can hear."

The room swayed; suddenly she felt dizzy. "I have never prepared a wedding before." freewēbnoveℓ.com

"There is not much that you need to prepare. You don’t have a lot of friends, if I can say, at all." Hazel scowled when she heard that, but Ranon continued. "Your family and I have already had the list of people that we will invite; the rest of it, you simply need to point out what you want."

"That sounds simple."

"Good thing you have taken a leave from your university so you can focus on wedding preparations."

They couldn’t wait for long because Hazel’s stomach would grow too big for her to fit in her wedding gown. This, or they had to wait until she gave birth to her baby.

At that time, there was no need for a wedding.

Hazel preferred that option better, but the old generation would have thrown a tantrum, and it was no fun to watch those old hags throw a fit.

"What about the wedding dress?"

Hearing the question, Ranon raised his brows questioningly. "Your father didn’t tell you, did he?"

"What?" Hazel narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "He has been acting as if I am a house lizard rather than one of his children recently."

"Poor you." Ranon smirked. "Go home and ask your father about it."

"Can’t you just tell me?" Hazel was suspicious. This man looked like he enjoyed her misery.

"Where is the fun of it?"

She was right.

Hazel almost got a heart attack when she opened her bedroom and saw Greyson was sitting on her bed, as if waiting for her.

"What are you doing here?!" Hazel was freaking out; she almost cussed him out, but then she softened her voice. "Father, you startled me."

"Come with me for a while, Hazel." Greyson called Hazel over, at the moment she took a step into her bedroom. He looked at his daughter with an impassive gaze. It was hard to read his mood.

The room was neat and tidy; Hazel gave a quick look; if Greyson searched her room, he must have done it meticulously, but then she didn’t hide anything. The only secret she had was her bank account that was filled with Ranon’s money and the information in her laptop.

She didn’t hide her laptop since these people didn’t usually come to her room.

"Where?" Hazel asked when Greyson stood up from the bed and then walked towards the door. He was towering above her.

This man was no longer young, but she was sure in his prime he could make women go crazy over him. Just looked at Dylan; with such a bad attitude, he could make his own fangirls.

"Follow me." Greyson didn’t like to be questioned; he walked past her. He didn’t even look back to make sure that his daughter followed behind him.

His confidence was awe-inspiring.

But in the end, Hazel followed him. She had never been to this side of the house since this was a big house, but the original Hazel did; yet it felt like a distant memory since she didn’t come to this part often either.

Apparently, Greyson took her to his bedroom.

"Get in."

"Why?"

Hazel didn’t want to get into his bedroom. It felt weird. She didn’t want to be anywhere near him if she could help it.

"Get in, or should I drag you in?"

Weighing the option, Hazel decided to get into his bedroom. She could protect herself; there was nothing for her to be afraid of.

The room inside was painted in the color of warm yellow and deep red. The color that, in Hazel’s opinion, didn’t match with his personality at all.

Yet, what caught her attention was a big wedding picture that literally covered an entire wall facing the balcony.

Hazel was right when she thought young Greyson was a man who would break so many women’s hearts, because in his wedding suit, he looked very gorgeous and attractive. He was tall with a body that was built perfectly.

However, the woman beside her, who was none other than Hazel’s mother, was such a beauty as well. The beauty that could match the perfect man beside her. No wonder, she gave birth to three beautiful children.

"This way."

Greyson walked past her and snapped Zuri out of her reverie as she stared at the wedding picture. He beckoned her to come to the walk-in closet, where Hazel finally found out what he was trying to show her.

She should have guessed this the moment Ranon told her that she didn’t need to be worried with her wedding dress with that annoying smirk on his handsome face.

"You will wear the dress."

’You will wear the dress.’

That was it. He didn’t ask Hazel’s opinion. He didn’t even ask whether she wanted to wear it or not. For him, it was enough with a single command from him as if Hazel was one of his subordinates and had no say in the matter.

The wedding dress obviously belonged to Hazel’s late mother; the lace around the chest was unique.

"No."
