Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 50: THE DAY HAS BEEN DECIDED
Chapter 50: THE DAY HAS BEEN DECIDED
The result of the DNA test was predictable; it was almost laughable for Hazel. She was wasting her time to be here, but the lunch was worth it.
The only problem was she was very sleepy right now, and after the DNA test result, all of them were talking about a few things: suggestions and whatnots. Hazel was too sleepy to follow the conversation, and somehow, her brain shut on her, and she fell asleep.
She leaned her head against the armchair and curled her body.
"You can continue with your discussion. I will take my leave," Ranon said as he stood and walked across the room.
Only when he approached Hazel did everyone notice the pregnant woman had fallen asleep. She didn’t seem to be interested at all in their conversation about the baby and the wedding.
"She didn’t have any worries at all," Laurel commented to see how free Hazel was. "She is very confident that the baby is yours."
Somehow, Laurel had been very irritated ever since she reached home. She had been complaining about every single thing that she saw wrong, but the problem was everything was wrong in her eyes.
Right now, there were only Denzel, Ema, and Laurel inside the room, aside from Ranon and Hazel.
"The baby is mine," Ranon replied curtly as he carefully picked Hazel up in his arms so she wouldn’t wake up.
"Yes, fortunately." That was obviously a snarky reply, and Ranon turned around to look at his sister sternly when he spoke again.
He didn’t raise his voice, because Hazel was sleeping, but also because he didn’t need to. Everyone could feel the coldness from him.
"I will not accept that demeaning comment from you, and that will be the last time you ambush her."
Laurel gulped down. She was not close with Ranon, and she used to egg him. But he had never talked back to her, yet when he did, it shut her up completely, leaving her speechless. She didn’t know what to say.
However, Ranon was not patient enough to wait for her reply. He took Hazel to his old bedroom that sometimes he would use when he visited this house and had to stay overnight.
"What the hell!" Laurel growled once Ranon was out of earshot. "I am leaving."
Denzel watched his daughter storm out of the room, fuming, but Laurel was not the only one who was angry, because Ema had been silent the entire ordeal; she didn’t say a single word at all.
"What is it? Are you angry because the baby is really Ranon’s?" Denzel suddenly asked his young wife. He couldn’t see her face from where he was sitting in his wheelchair, but he knew her enough to tell that she was in a foul mood.
"What? No, of course not. I am happy for the two of them; I just feel it’s a little bit odd for Ranon to hide his relationship for so long. As far as I know, Ranon does not particularly like to hide things that he likes."
Ema’s voice was as smooth as satin; she even made a sweet gesture to kiss Denzel on the cheek, yet he didn’t buy it. Instead, Denzel started to laugh.
"Woman. You are jealous, and I can hear it in your voice." Denzel turned his wheelchair around and then looked at Ema with his sharp gaze. "Don’t try to do anything."
Ema looked shocked with the accusation. She looked hurt, but Denzel didn’t seem to care. "I will not try to do anything; why do you think that way?"
"You are starting to feel regret, aren’t you?"
"I am not."
"’I should have stayed with him.’ ’I should be the one that he will marry.’ ’That woman is not right for him.’" Denzel kept going with the same narrations, which made Ema press her lips to suppress her anger. "Those are what you think, right?"
"I never think any of those." Ema balled her fists as her eyes glistened. "I dedicate my life to you. I am with you because I love you, and I chose you, despite our age difference. Even though people are frowning at me and thinking that I am a gold digger because I chose you. But now you accuse me of this."
Ema was angry; she didn’t hold back to show it to Denzel; yet before the conversation could escalate, Eilon entered the room. The five-year-old child immediately picked up the bad vibe between his parents.
However, Ema immediately changed her expression.
"Mama, are you crying?" Eilon ran to his mother.
"I am not, baby. Something got into my eyes. How’s school?" Ema asked gently; she kissed his cheek, and Eilon started to tell them about how awesome his day was.

It was suffocating. It was so cold and painful. The shot on her shoulder rendered her unable to move, and the current under the river was stronger than she thought.
She kept moving; she kept swimming, but all she could see was endless darkness.
She couldn’t do it anymore. Her body was numb, and the current took her away. Further away. She was going to die. She was dead already.
"Hazel."
Hazel opened her eyes and saw Ranon’s face close to hers. He frowned. "Wh—What?" She looked around in confusion. Her mind worked very slowly. "Wh—Where am I?" ƒгeewebnovёl_com
"You are in my room."
"Why?"
Hazel pushed herself from the bed into a sitting position; she rubbed her face and realized that she was sweating, even though the room was cold. Her heart was hammering in her chest.
"You fell asleep when we discussed the wedding, and I took you here." Ranon wiped her sweat with his sleeve. "Nightmare."
"Oh... yeah." Hazel wondered how she was not aware when Ranon carried her to his bedroom since she was a light sleeper. It was a little bit concerning for her, but she would think about it later.
"The day has been decided. It will be two weeks from now."
"Two weeks?!"
