Chapter 62: YOU ARE THE ONLY MAN

"Fine, if you don’t have any preferences, then I will wear whatever I like." Hazel said hastily, and she turned around.

Yet, soon enough, she felt it when Ranon approached her; but apparently, she was not quick enough to avoid what he was going to do next, nor did she manage to get away from his grasp.

This man turned her body around very easily and pressed his own body against hers. He pinned her body against his and the closet behind her, which made Hazel retaliate out of instinct; she raised her hand for protection, yet Ranon caught her hand quickly.

He was even faster than Hazel, and with his body and strength, it was impossible for her to get the upper hand in this position.

The sudden change of the situation made the alarm blare in Hazel’s mind.

"What?" Hazel asked. She was grateful that her voice was not trembling; she was unable to move now, and the tension between them was so great that she couldn’t think clearly right now.

"At first, I don’t want to know about it. That’s your problem. That’s your life. I don’t want to get involved too deeply since we are not really in a relationship." Ranon lowered his head; he was so close that Hazel could count his eyelashes. "But I can’t. You are going to be my wife, and I need to know what the fuck you have been doing and where you have gone secretly, to the point that you avoided your bodyguards. You have to deceive them to get away from this house. Who did you meet? Did you meet with someone?"

These were the questions that Hazel expected; but still, she was taken aback by how strong he came with the questions.

Ranon’s eyes were filled with anger. He held her body closely, and his grip on her waist tightened. It was pretty painful, actually, but Hazel didn’t say anything because she could feel his rage, and she remembered he had been cheated on in the past, and it would be very traumatizing because the woman was still in his life; and the worst part was: his ex became his stepmother, which was very disgusting.

Hazel herself could sympathize with him since she had gone through the same thing, and right now she could understand why he was so angry.

Yet his anger was so terrifying!

She didn’t know that he was the jealous type.

Hazel couldn’t remember when was the last time she was afraid of someone, and for a moment, she thought this man was going to kill her. It was a silly thought.

"I didn’t go anywhere. I met with my friends."

Ranon scrunched his brows; he knew very well that she was lying to him.

"You don’t have friends, Hazel, unless you have met one that you tried to hide from me."

Hazel pursed her lips. This man didn’t know any social cues. Not having friends was not something that he could say blatantly with a straight face, even though that was true.

"No, of course not. Are you accusing me of cheating on you? Seriously, Ranon, I don’t have any energy to do that." She had two people that she wanted to ruin and kill, and she was pregnant now. She also needed to think to get a good chunk of shares in the Rose family company.

She was busy, okay?

"Is that supposed to make me believe you?" Ranon asked. He was clearly not pleased with Hazel’s answer.

He tightened his grip on her even more.

"Answer my questions."

"No." Hazel insisted.

Ranon was even scarier now. "Who have you met until you have to hide it and trick your bodyguards when you know your life is in danger?"

The people who wanted to kill a member of the Leighton family were still out there, and with their wedding approaching, it was a perfect opportunity to get to Ranon by hurting her.

"You don’t have to worry about that. I can protect myself."

"I can see that." Ranon was being sarcastic, and Hazel didn’t like it. She really could protect herself! "And I wonder how you can protect yourself and how you will be able to protect yourself."

"Do you want me to show you?" Hazel was riled up. She was not used to being underestimated like this.

"Please."

Hazel tried to wriggle her hand; she tried every trick in the book, but their position was already a great disadvantage for Hazel. There was no way she could free herself from Ranon; moreover, from the look of it, this man knew how to fight too.

"Done?"

Hazel scowled. "Let’s try from a different position. You know that you are much stronger than me in this proximity."

Ranon didn’t listen to her ramblings, nor did he speak until Hazel stopped and glared at him because he didn’t move away from her. She was still naked, and his body’s heat started bothering her.

"You know, Hazel, you are full of mystery, and I can’t fathom any of it."

"You don’t need to fathom me."

"We are going to marry."

"We are going to separate ways anyway. It’s only a year; you don’t need to think about everything so seriously."

"I am not going to be cheated on." His voice deepened. "If you are my fiancé, if you are my woman, I am not going to share you with anyone else as long as you are mine."

Hearing that, Hazel’s heart fluttered. The way Ranon said that she was his was pretty sexy, actually, and she liked the sound of it.

Yet Hazel shook her head internally. This was not the right time to be fangirling this beautiful, arrogant man.

"I swear, I will never cheat on you."

"I have heard something like that."

Hazel tried to think of a different approach. "Never interested in a poly relationship." She needed to be able to calm him down before his jealousy ate her alive. "How could you be suspicious with me when you are the only man who I have been in a relationship with?" Hazel looked at him innocently.
