Chapter 61: RANON’S SHARP GAZE

Hazel’s heart almost stopped beating when she saw Ranon was there. He was staring at her, and sure enough, he knew how she came into the room. His eyes were filled with judgment.

And the scariest part was: he didn’t even talk!

He simply stared at her, and somehow Hazel felt like she was a child being caught red-handed for being naughty, and she was stared at to confess for her crime, for her sin, that she had committed.

This was super annoying, but that was how Hazel felt about the situation right now.

"Hi!" Hazel raised her hand awkwardly to greet him because she didn’t know what else she had to do or say in this situation. She should have checked her bedroom first before she climbed in.

There was no explanation for this, and there was no excuse, since Ranon had seen everything, and he was too smart to be fooled by a lame story anyway.

And right now, Hazel couldn’t think of anything, or a way, that could help her to get out of this situation. She had landed herself in this awful situation because she was not being careful. Hazel’s life was too ’calm’ for her; that was why, gradually, she put her guard down.

"How long have you been here?" Hazel asked again, pretending as if there was nothing weird about it, as she crossed the room and put down her bag on the bed.

The handbag felt so heavy because the gun was inside. She needed to put it away from Ranon’s reach because there was a chance he was going to look into her handbag, and if that happened, Hazel didn’t know what else he was going to do and what question would come out of his mouth.

She was not in the mood to answer any questions, especially the one that she didn’t know how to reply to.

"Long enough to know that you have gone out of your room secretly."

Hazel didn’t say anything for a while, waiting for what else he was going to say, but Ranon said nothing.

Oh, was that the only response? Were there no long trains of questions? Now she wondered why he didn’t question her.

"So, why are you here?" Hazel tried to calm her nerves because Ranon still looked at her with that same sharp gaze. It was so rare for her to avoid someone’s eyes because usually it would be the other way round. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

She had never felt uncomfortable enough to avoid eye contact in front of anyone else, not even with a man, not even with Arlo.

But there was something different with Ranon. Even when he didn’t do anything or say anything, he looked terrifying.

"I am here to tell you that we have an appointment. We need to go to the wedding venue, choosing wedding food and whatnot."

"Oh, okay." Hazel made an ’OK’ sign with her fingers. "I will change my clothes. Can you wait outside? It will not take long."

Yet Ranon didn’t move from where he was standing. Instead, he crossed his arms and stared at her, getting comfortable with his position.

"Sooo..." Hazel dragged her words. "I need to change my clothes. And if you want to go there quickly, you need to wait outside. Or else, I can’t change my dress here."

"I don’t need to wait outside. I have seen you naked before. I will stay here."

Hazel widened her eyes; it was not like she was timid or being a prude; she didn’t mind getting naked in front of him, but she needed some alone time to hide her gun.

More so, she was not in the mood to be stared at while butt naked.

"Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t want to be naked in front of you anymore."

"Really? But you are going to be naked in front of me in one way or another. We are going to marry, remember? We agreed to have sex a few times a week."

At this point, Hazel was annoyed, but somehow this man managed to make her feel naked with the way he looked at her, as if he undressed her with his eyes alone.

"Well, let’s get butt-naked after the wedding day."

Ranon didn’t find her comment funny; he actually took a step closer towards her, which made Hazel instinctively take a step back to avoid him. It almost felt like she was being preyed upon by a predator, which was not something she appreciated.

That was her role all this time.

"I will not wait outside just in case my bride will run away. I will be here. So, unless you want to explain where you have gone, I am not going anywhere."

Ranon didn’t immediately ask her about where she had gone, but he put his guard up against her now. She didn’t know whether she had to be thankful for it or what.

"Fine." Hazel threw her arms in the air. "If you want to stay to see me naked, stand there and watch me naked."

And without any shame, Hazel started to undress herself. She walked towards her walk-in closet while taking off her shirt and then her pants; as she was doing that, she asked Ranon casually.

"Do you have any preferences? Since you are here, why don’t you give me some suggestions? Should I wear a dress or formal attire? Do you like an edgy style? A feminine style? What should I wear? What style do you prefer?"

Hazel was already in her underwear. She turned around and tilted her head to look at Ranon; she was actually teasing him, tempting him, which was a dangerous game she was playing because Ranon’s eyes turned darker right now. He relished the sight of Hazel, and even though it was she who had started it, somehow, she felt bashful and regretted what she was doing.

Under his heated gaze, she wanted to cover her skin from his sharp eyes. She wanted to squirm.
