Chapter 75: I AM GOING TO KILL HIM ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

Hazel stretched out her body; she felt tired and sore but also warm and giddy at the same time. For a moment, she didn’t even remember what had happened, but when her arm touched someone else on the bed, she opened her eyes almost immediately and saw Ranon was sleeping next to her.

What the hell?!

And with that, all the memories from the previous night returned.

Damn! That was the best sex she had ever had...

She remembered that after that sex with a view, she was very tired; and thankfully, Ranon was decent enough to help her get dressed again. He acted like nothing happened when Jacob returned.

That act would be perfect if it were not for Hazel, who looked like she was a second away from falling asleep and was very sluggish.

Hazel didn’t remember their way back from the boutique since she was dozing off the moment they entered the car. Satisfied and pleased.

She looked around her and noticed this was not her bedroom, which meant Ranon didn’t take her back to her house.

"A hotel?" Hazel narrowed her eyes. "No," she answered her own question. A hotel wouldn’t be like this. This room looked more personal.

This room was dominated by the color grey, and even though this room was huge, it was spacious. The furniture here was very practical. He only put in something that he would use, not for the essence of being artistic or making this place more pleasant to the eyes.

"It looks like you so much," Hazel said; she turned her head and glanced at Ranon. He was still sleeping and looked more approachable when he was relaxed and oblivious like this.

Hazel tried to go back to sleep, but in the end, she couldn’t. The clock on the wall showed it was only two hours away before morning, so she decided to get up.

Ranon was living in an apartment. One of the prestigious apartment buildings in this city. Not many people could afford this place. The security around this building would be top-notch, which meant the assassins from the Lozen family would have a hard time breaching it.

"Good, good..." Hazel nodded her head as she inspected her surroundings, trying to familiarize herself with this place so she knew where things were if there was a critical moment. "This will be a good place to stay; probably he only needs to add a little bit more security..." she thought to herself.

They needed to be extra careful since they would have a baby. When it came to the Lozen family and her father, Hazel knew that he wouldn’t stop only by trying the attempted murder on the street. He might try to breach their residence too.

Hazel walked around the apartment. They were on the highest floor, where she stopped for a while to watch the city view from the balcony.

The early morning air was cold, and the sky was still dark, but you could see a silver lining at the horizon far away. It would be sunrise in a few hours.

She breathed deeply and enjoyed a moment of quietness. She would love to live in this place, but then her peaceful moment was jerked away when she remembered her revenge.

This vengeance felt like a scourge for her right now.

"Oh, shit." Hazel opened her eyes when she also remembered that she had to call Olivia. It was still early in the morning, but she knew she usually had not yet slept around this hour.

Therefore, she went back to the bedroom and found her bag, retrieved her phone, and tiptoed out of the bedroom again to call her from the balcony.

The city view was beautiful, but the image of Ranon thrusting her from behind kept flashing in her mind. She shook her head to get rid of the image, but she was blushing instead.

"Hallo?"

There was this hoarse voice that greeted Hazel from the other end of the phone.

"I heard you look for me."

Hazel couldn’t change her voice to sound like River; instead, she covered her mouth so Olivia wouldn’t know that it was Hazel who was talking to her.

"River?" Olivia mentioned her name doubtfully. "It’s not you."

"I know, my voice sounds different, but I don’t want my family and Arlo to know that I called you. They can track me down through my voice alone."

Olivia didn’t know this kind of stuff, but she still didn’t believe Hazel as she asked a few questions that only River knew the answers to.

"What happened in the third grade that caused you to be very upset on our outing day?"

Hazel rolled her eyes. "Should I answer this ridiculous question?"

"Just answer the question. I need to be sure it’s you."

"I ripped my pants off right in the ass," Hazel grumbled, and she could hear Olivia was laughing. She liked this story so much, and thankfully, she didn’t tell anyone about it, even though she would use this story to mock River for years.

"What panty were you wearing at that time?"

"Oh, are you being a jerk now?"

"I only want to be sure."

"Fuck you, Olive."

"Well, that’s quite convincing, but you had not yet answered my question."

Hazel scrunched her nose. "Yellow."

"No, that was Sailor Moon."

"Fuck you, Olive. I have told you so many times it was simply a yellow panty."

"No, the yellow is from Sailor Moon’s hair."

They bickered for a while about this before Olivia was convinced she was indeed talking to River. She knew it was River the moment she heard her reaction upon the incident years ago since that was exactly how she would react; Olivia wanted to mess up with her for a while.

"What are you doing with your voice? It sounds even uglier than your normal one."

"Are you really worried about me? I know you miss me, but right now I can’t play with you, okay? Now, tell me, what do you want to talk about?"

Olivia scoffed, but then she told her everything that Hazel already knew. About the cheating, Aubrey’s pregnancy, and the engagement between Arlo and Aubrey.

"If you have a sister like that, who will need an enemy?" Olivia sounded upset on her behalf. "From what I know, they have been trying to look for you everywhere, but I don’t know the details of it. Where are you?" But then Olivia immediately corrected herself. "No, don’t tell me. I don’t want to get involved. Arlo was here a few hours ago. He looked for you. That bastard managed to know about the wedding dress and whatever your relationship is with that woman, Hazel Rose. Remind her that there will be a possibility Arlo will look for her too."

Hazel had expected this; this was the result she wanted, and Olivia just informed her that her initial plan worked so well.

"It’s okay. Hazel has Ranon Leighton’s protection. She will be fine."

Hazel smirked. This little action would shake the calm water and ripple. Aubrey would be the one who would be hit so hard by this revelation, since she would have believed, after so many months without any sign of River being alive, that River was already dead, buried under the bridge, being eaten by fish there.

"Hello? Are you still there?"

"Yeah, I am still here. Can you tell me what else happened?"

Olivia scowled. "Stay away from me; I don’t want to get involved in your business."

But suddenly, before they could start bickering again, there was a crashing sound from Olivia’s end. "What is that?" Hazel asked with a frown.

"Nothing," Olivia replied; she tried to be calm, but Hazel could sense the panic in her voice. "I will hang up. I will call you at this number if I know something."

Despite what she said earlier, she promised to inform River about her cheating ex and what happened at the house if she got her hands on the information.

"Is your boyfriend there?"

And before Hazel could ask the question, Olivia had hung up the call. Hazel was sure her boyfriend was there, and she was right, because right now Olivia was in great trouble since she snuck out from the bedroom to answer Hazel’s call.

Marcus, Olivia’s boyfriend, opened the door harshly. He smelled like alcohol and whatnot. He was drunk out of his mind, and he would be very violent in this state.

"Are you calling for your boy toy again?" Marcus glared at her. He marched across the room, and Olivia’s body went stiff. She knew what was coming, and she closed her eyes when a harsh slap landed on her cheek. She felt her head was going to snap. She couldn’t breathe when her body crashed against the table. "That’s what you got when you cheated behind my back."

"I have never done such a thing!" Olivia was angry; she was tired, and she felt like she had enough. "You drank again! You promised me that you would stop!"

"I am not drunk!" Marcus yelled.

They argued back and forth, throwing insults and calling names. Both of them were enraged; they argued for a few minutes until finally Marcus lost it.

"How dare you raise your voice against me!?" Marcus came to her and slapped her several times.

Olivia struggled to parry his attack, but she couldn’t. She was tired, and Marcus was twice her size. She thought she was going to die when someone suddenly rang the bell.

"Who is that?!" Marcus let go of Olivia and rushed towards the door. "I am going to kill him!"
