Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 76: IT FELT GOOD
Chapter 76: IT FELT GOOD
Marcus became even angrier when he heard the doorbell ring.
"Who is that? Your lover?! Is your lover here?! How dare you get your lover here?! What the fuck do you think you are doing, huh?! Are you really trying to humiliate me like this?! To invite your lover here?!" Marcus slurred his words as he kept kicking Olivia in the end of his words.
On the other hand, Olivia couldn’t bring herself to answer the questions. She was beaten up, and she could feel the blood inside her mouth. It was so hard to move her finger, let alone to protect herself from the assault.
She was pretty sure that Marcus had broken a few of her bones.
"Fuck you, bitch!" Marcus growled at her and then kicked her stomach, which only resulted in a whimper from her mouth.
At this moment, Olivia wondered why she always came back to this kind of man who only hurt her. This man was trash, and she was ashamed to pick him up over and over again.
Many people told her that Marcus was not right for her, including River.
However, Olivia was stupid, and she didn’t want to listen.
Every time they broke up, this man knew what to say and what to do to win her back, and every time, he would slip back into his abusive self the moment things went right for both of them.
Olivia couldn’t even understand why she would hurt herself like this, again and again.
And for a while, everything went so quiet. When Marcus went to the front door to check who had been ringing the doorbell.
At first, nothing happened, but then Olivia heard commotion and a loud noise of shattering glasses. She didn’t know what happened, yet she couldn’t care less what was going on, until she heard her brother’s voice.
It was Lyle, her younger brother; he was in a screaming match with Marcus, and then Olivia heard more crashing, some growling here and there, and then whimpering.
Marcus cursed so loudly, a typical drunken slur, which meant Lyle managed to take him down.
Of course, this was not the first time they were engaged in a brawl. That was why Olivia knew that her brother had managed to take him down.
After that, she heard him calling for her.
"Olivia! Olivia! Where are you?!" Lyle shouted; his footsteps sounded furious.
He looked for her in the other room. He searched the entire apartment until he found her there, inside her study room.
Olivia wanted to curl herself and hide from him. Right at this moment, her pain was not really important. She wanted to hide; she felt humiliated; she wanted to disappear, especially when Lyle approached her and she heard the way he gasped and cursed under his breath before he approached her.
"The fuck, Olivia!" Lyle growled; if Olivia could see him, she would know how his body was shaking.
He didn’t immediately touch her or anything because he was afraid he would harm her instead of helping her. That was why he kept asking questions that Olivia couldn’t answer due to the pain.
She was in so much agony, and this man only kept asking.
"What the fuck, Olivia!? How can I carry you like this?! Fuck! I needed to kill that man!"
"No..." Oliver whimpered. She didn’t know why, but the thought of Lyle killing Marcus didn’t sit well with her.
She cursed herself because she was too attached to Marcus.
"No?! What!?" Lyle shook his head exasperatedly. "No, I am going to kill him!"
"No... Get me out, take me away," Olivia said. She was struggling; she couldn’t move her body, and it was so hard for her to speak.
It felt like her throat was being cut open. She was breathing raggedly as she tried to grab Lyle’s hand when he insisted on going and finishing his job, getting his revenge on behalf of his sister.
"Take me away." Olivia repeated the same words over and over again. Even though she tried her best, it only sounded like she was whispering at this point.
However, thankfully, because of how quiet the apartment was without Marcus’s curses, which indicated he might have passed out, Lyle could hear what she said, and carefully, very, very carefully, he picked her up and carried her out of the apartment.
He used his own jacket to cover his sister’s beaten body, but before he left the apartment, he didn’t forget to give Marcus two or three more kicks to make sure he was in so much pain. At the very least, he would be in the same condition as his sister.
"No... Let’s go." She gasped. "I think... I have broken bones..."
Only after Olivia whimpered did Lyle finally snap out of it and prioritize his sister.
"Let’s go, Lyle, let’s go," Olivia said.
It was ridiculous, but she couldn’t help it. She was afraid of Marcus dying, but at the same time, she felt vindictive when she saw his current condition.
Giving one more kick to his face, Lyle took Olivia to the nearby hospital.
"Hold on, Olivia. Hold on." He put his sister inside the car and then drove it like crazy straight to the emergency room.

Ranon was awake when the sun had risen on the horizon.
It was so bright outside, and when he stretched out his body, he found out that Hazel was not there. Her spot was cold.
He immediately looked around and then saw the time. The clock showed him that it was already ten in the morning, which meant he had overslept.
This must be the first time after such a long time he could sleep like this. Usually, he was a light sleeper, which meant even if Hazel woke up and got up from the bed as carefully as possible, usually he would know.
But somehow, he didn’t.
It confused him for a while, but then Ranon decided not to think much of it. He then heard voices from outside.
He recognized these voices, especially the woman. It must be Hazel, and there was someone else in the apartment, and from the sound of it, it must be Lucian.
Actually, it was not surprising for him to be here this morning. He must have called Ranon a few times, and because he was sleeping, he couldn’t pick up his call.
Slowly, Ranon got off his bed and walked outside his bedroom.
The first thing that he noticed was this delicious smell from the kitchen, and the closer he walked, the louder he could hear Hazel and Lucian arguing about something.
"Oh, you are awake!" Hazel looked cheerful. She had her hair tied up into a simple bun. "Come here, sit down, sit down. Quick, before this creature finishes all of the food here."
Lucian grinned when he heard that, because that was true. He didn’t even have any shame when he admitted that the food was very delicious. That’s why he didn’t mind gobbling it up.
"Seriously, you need to open your own restaurant!"
"I don’t have time for that." Her targets were still alive, and here she was, playing a homemaker with a baby in her womb.
"Oh please. I know I am a good cook, but it doesn’t mean you can eat all! I cooked this for Ranon, not for you."
"Why? I am his best friend. I should be treated better too. This is what you call privilege."
"No way, you are not included."
Lucian made a face. But he finished his meal. "Can I ask for one more plate?"
"I will shove the plate down your throat if you dare touch that!" Hazel looked like she was ready to fight. "That one is for Ranon!"
Hazel actually glared at Lucian when his hand hovered above the food. She was holding a knife right now, and for a split moment, Lucian had this thought that Hazel might hurl the knife towards him.
"But I still want that..."
"Oh, shut up, don’t be like a baby. You have finished two plates, and now I have to make extra because of that," Hazel grumbled.
This morning Lucian came to the apartment because Ranon had not yet come to the office after it passed the time, and he couldn’t be called.
What happened last night was Ranon’s phone was dead, and he had not yet charged it.
However, to Lucian’s surprise, he found Hazel was there, and she was actually cooking!
The smell from the food managed to dissipate his annoyance and replace it with excitement, especially when he got a chance to taste it.
Ranon actually had overworked him since their wedding was around the corner; thus, he hadn’t been used to having breakfast for the last couple of weeks.
"Why is she here?" Lucian asked Ranon in a low voice so Hazel couldn’t hear him. At this moment, she was busy cooking for herself since Lucian had eaten her portion.
Instead of answering Lucian’s question, Ranon simply stared at the food in front of him as if he was confused.
"Did you cook this?" Ranon asked Hazel.
She glanced over her shoulder. "Of course," she said with an attitude. "Isn’t it very obvious? Can’t you see I am cooking now?"
Ranon simply nodded and then tried the food.
Home-cooked meals were not something that Ranon could afford very often; most of the time he would eat outside in miscellaneous restaurants, talking about business.
Therefore, what Hazel did the last time and what she was doing right now surprisingly felt... good.
