Chapter 78: ARE YOU CLOSE WITH RIVER?

Despite Hazel’s effort to conceal her identity, Lyle was still able to tell it was her.

"You can ask Olivia and tell her that Hazel Rose is here; we are friends now." Hazel grimaced when she mentioned the word ’friends.’

Lyle tilted his head and then went inside to check with Olivia. Now Hazel remembered how overprotective Lyle could be with his big sister, since he used to be close with Olivia growing up.

Hazel didn’t know Lyle closely.

Naturally, with how River’s relationship with Olivia was, she only met with him for a couple of times, and since most of the time Olivia and River would argue over something silly, she paid no mind to Lyle.

However, from what Hazel knew, Lyle followed the family business; he was a great mercenary, but Hazel didn’t know much about him. But one thing is for sure: this man loved his sister. He cared about her. It could be said that he was the only one who still kept in touch with Olivia, despite the family problem they have.

More importantly, Hazel was convinced that Lyle was here because he was the one who had taken Olivia to the hospital, or else that stupid woman would never have come here to ask for any help.

Needless to say, the reason why Olivia was in this hospital, despite the fact that most of the people around her would say Marcus was not right for her, was that somehow that stupid woman couldn’t see that.

It was confusing why Olivia became like that and what she actually saw from Marcus since there was no good quality from that man.

Not long after that, Lyle returned. He looked at Hazel for a brief moment, as if he was observing her, whether or not she would attack his sister or whether or not she would harm Olivia, since she was not in a good condition.

But after some time, Lyle finally let her in. "You can come inside," he said.

"Thank you," Hazel replied. This man could be too much. She could imagine how overbearing Lyle could be. Most of the mercenaries had that annoying trait after all.

"Don’t be long; she needs to take some rest."

"Don’t worry. I will not take long." Hazel wouldn’t have been here if Olivia had simply replied to her assistant’s text message.

People around Olivia who had witnessed the aftermath of the fight between those two could tell that Marcus loved to become physical, but when Hazel saw what happened to Olivia, she was literally dumbstruck.

For a moment she was speechless, while Lyle closed the door behind him, leaving the two women inside.

"What the hell had happened?!" Hazel stopped walking. "Why do you look so ugly as if you have been bulldozed by a truck?" Hazel shook her head’ and then walked across the room, her brows scrunched with confusion and her eyes filled with anger.

Somehow, she hated the sight of Olivia lying on the bed, as she couldn’t do much. She was breathing, but it was rather shallow, though her eyes were still sharp as they glared at Hazel.

It seemed that she was annoyed. Well, they had this mutual annoyance, so at the very least, they gave off the same vibe.

Hazel then lifted a chair and then dragged it to the spot next to Olivia’s bed. "I came here to look for my wedding dress. I need that, but because they have not yet heard anything from you and you didn’t give them any order, I have to waste my time and come here, spoiling my day by witnessing such a gruesome sight. You know it’s not good for my eyes to see you like this."

Despite what Hazel said, she felt this anger seeing Olivia look very weak, as if she were close to death. Probably, Hazel needed to add Marcus to her list. That kind of guy had to be vanished from the surface of the earth.

It would be a great favor for mankind if Hazel killed that man since he was nothing.

However, Hazel was certain that this stupid woman named Olivia didn’t think the same, even though she was the victim here.

"Shut up, I will make a call. Just get me my phone."

"What? Are you ordering me now?

"What, don’t you want your wedding dress?" They started to argue right off the bat. "Do you expect me to get off from my bed with this condition and make an effort to get my purse across the room for you?"

"Don’t act like you are dying."

Olivia waved her hand. "You can go. You can go back after I feel better." Hazel grumbled.

"Damn you," Hazel muttered under her breath.

Olivia should have told her earlier before she sat down, because now she needed to walk across the room again, and this room was pretty big. It was not that she couldn’t do it; it was a trivial matter, but for the two of them, they felt a little bit petty with each other to give such an effort.

After that, Hazel took the purse and gave it back to Olivia. She called her assistant and told her to give the wedding dress to Hazel.

"Now tell me, how do you know about River?"

Hazel sat down. She didn’t even bring anything when she visited Olivia, but probably she would send something if she were in the mood for that. Let’s see.

"What? Why don’t you ask River herself about that?"

"She didn’t give me the answer."

"Then that’s the answer that you need." Hazel crossed her arms; she was slightly intrigued. "Why do you care about River?"

"I don’t care about her. I only want to know why she let that stupid man be happy with her sister; that cheap thing should pay for what she has done."

"Don’t worry about that." Hazel waved her hands lightly. "They will pay for what they have done." Olivia narrowed her eyes when she heard that.

"Are you close with River?"

"You can say so; we are best friends."
