Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain-Chapter 79: ENCOUNTERED LAUREL’S STEPSON
Chapter 79: ENCOUNTERED LAUREL’S STEPSON
Hazel spoke whatever came to her mind. "I know what she is thinking. I know what she likes and dislikes. You can say that I know her the best."
Olivia rolled her eyes. "Fine, you have your dress; now get out from my room; I need to sleep."
Hazel really wanted to strangle her. She wanted to curse at her, but she held her tongue back. She didn’t want to stay and bicker. It was not worth it.
"Okay, bye then." Hazel stood up and walked towards the door, but before she left, Olivia made an effort to speak to her.
"If you come to visit me again, at the very least, bring something. That’s common sense. It’s something that you have to know. That’s a basic courtesy, you know."
"I know that, but I simply chose not to waste my money and my energy." Hazel scowled at Olivia. "Don’t worry, I will never come back."
"Good, because I don’t want to see you again." freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"Fine."
And once Hazel left the room, she would make sure to invite her to her wedding just because Hazel wanted to upset Olivia so she could see her that entire day as the center of attention.
It would annoy Olivia, and Hazel was sure about that.
Hazel grinned with that plan in her mind; even though it was childish, she liked it. The only thing that she found familiar was, surprisingly, the way she interacted with her.
Even though she was in a different body, she felt the familiarity with her. So far, Olivia was the only person that she had come in contact with from her previous life.
When Hazel finally left the hospital, she went straight to the parking lot where she had parked her car.
Her phone kept vibrating; she silenced it, but she kept the vibration on so she would know if she got any messages or any calls. That was how she knew Nolu and Yara had been looking for her.
She was convinced that she would get into trouble once she got back home since the two of them must have told Ronan at this point that they couldn’t find her.
Well, she would think about that later.
Actually, it was pretty cute, since all this time no one had ever worried about her. It was actually a really nice feeling. Comforting.
As she was always very capable of protecting herself and doing her things alone, people around her were used to thinking that she was fine with anything, that there was nothing to be worried about her.
It was nice to have someone worried about her. And based on that, probably, this was Hazel’s way to get attention, and somehow, she craved that feeling. The reason why she acted like this.
Of course, she wouldn’t do this very often. This was simply because she really needed to do something urgent. That was how Hazel justified what she was doing right now.
In the parking lot, Hazel saw the same young man again. It was Laurel’s stepson. He looked beaten up with a bandage on his forehead.
Probably because of that he was in the hospital. Hazel actually didn’t really pay attention to him because in her mind something like this was a common thing to happen, so she didn’t really have any interest to know more.
Yet, as it turned out, they parked their cars right next to each other; his car was literally next to hers. Hazel wondered how he was allowed to drive his car this far away from home.
From the little information Hazel gathered, Carl was only sixteen years old, and he lived like an hour away from here.
Whatever. That was not her business.
Hazel simply shrugged her shoulders and then walked away from him, but apparently, she couldn’t completely ignore him.
When she was about to enter her car, a bunch of men decided to come and approached Carl. They called him and then tried being very chummy with him; in one look, you could tell that Carl was not comfortable with them.
Carl shrunk his shoulders and grimaced. In total, there were four of them at the age between eighteen and twenty, probably. And somehow, Hazel found herself staring at them. She didn’t immediately leave as she had planned while she overheard their conversation.
"Where are you going?"
"Are you going somewhere?"
"We are not done yet. Here, come here; I will show you something interesting."
"Get inside the car."
Carl finally retaliated. "No, I don’t want to get inside the car; leave me alone," Carl said; his voice was a little bit trembling.
However, he put on a brave look; he was younger by a few years than these men, but from the look of it, he was trying to be tough, and Hazel immediately recognized it. It was a survival instinct.
Carl was in a survival mode where he tried to fight his own fear, yet you could see how he was trembling in fear.
Carl pushed one of them away, but it was not enough; one of them easily shoved him back against the car.
"Oh, come on, Carl; you don’t want to do this."
"Come on, we are friends, right?"
"We will fix this."
"You don’t need to be such an a-hole and fight us like this."
"Come on, get inside the car. Give me the key."
Carl finally snarled. "No!" Carl shook his head vigorously. He looked like he wanted to flee, but he didn’t stand a chance against these people.
Hazel shook her head; she willed herself to ignore them, to ignore this scene, since she had nothing to do with it, yet she couldn’t bring herself to leave the proximity.
"Oh, damn it. Just leave, okay? This is none of your business." She had never played hero before, and sure enough she wouldn’t try now, especially when she was pregnant. Not to mention, Hazel’s body was pretty weak. It was not yet suitable for a combat.
Hazel frowned at the scene out there.
