Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort-Chapter 164: If You Leave, I Shall Follow (7)
Seeing his determined expression, Qin Yiyao asked, "Are you really going?"
Mu Qingge nodded without hesitation.
"Very well, in that case, I will go with you," Qin Yiyao declared.
Mu Qingge’s eyes widened in surprise, blurting out, "Are you crazy!" She had no choice but to go. Why was Qin Yiyao getting involved in this chaos?
"My Lord, our Princess is concerned for your safety and that’s why she’s taking such a risk, how could you..."
"Silence!" Qin Yiyao snapped sharply, stopping the maid beside her from voicing her discontent.
With a gentle turn of her eyes, Qin Yiyao gazed at Mu Qingge and said, "You don’t need to heed her words. If you insist on going, agree to let me accompany you."
"This is not a game," Mu Qingge said grimly, furrowing her brows.
Qin Yiyao slightly raised the corners of her mouth and said seriously, "I’ve never considered it as such."
Her stubborn reply made Mu Qingge narrow her eyes sharply. Riding her horse, she moved a few steps toward Qin Yiyao, leaned over, and whispered in her ear, "Do you know that on this journey, you might not come back?"
"I know," Qin Yiyao replied calmly.
Mu Qingge’s brows knitted slightly, "You’re not afraid?"
Qin Yiyao’s gaze gently shifted, settling on her, as she lightly pressed her lips together and slowly shook her head.
Mu Qingge squinted her eyes, pulled back from leaning, and suddenly curled her lips, asking, "What if I resolutely refuse to take you with me?"
Qin Yiyao also smiled and replied, "The road to Yi City is not known only by you."
A cold gleam flashed in Mu Qingge’s eyes as she stared at the delicate yet cold features of Qin Yiyao. After a moment, she coldly uttered, "Follow," and then spurred her horse forward.
As she departed, the several hundred followers quickly chased after her. The dust kicked up by the horse hooves obscure the road and blurred their vision.
"Cough, cough, Princess, what should we do?" the maid, discomforted by the stirred dust, covered her mouth and asked.
Watching Mu Qingge’s retreating figure, Qin Yiyao’s eyes, cold as ice, shimmered with intrigue. Her lips curved slightly as she lifted her riding whip, instructing the maid, "Return to Luodu and deliver a message for me, saying..."
After a moment’s silence, a blush rose on Qin Yiyao’s cheeks. With a maiden’s modesty, she said, "Say that Changle is the daughter-in-law of the Mu Mansion. Now that her husband goes to the battlefield, Changle must follow."
With that, she whipped her mount sharply on the flank, prompting the horse beneath her to whinny and charge forward.
"Princess—!" The maid left behind was stunned for a moment. She wanted to call out to her mistress, but unfortunately, all that was left was a decisive and carefree back silhouette.
Helpless, she could only anxiously return to Luodu after seeing everyone off.
...
The horse Qin Yiyao rode was certainly unmatched by the steeds of the five hundred trusted aides.
Soon, she surpassed the hundreds of people and reached Mu Qingge’s side.
Glancing toward the radiant red figure beside her like a blazing sun, Qin Yiyao couldn’t help but smile. It seemed that where she was headed was not a perilous place facing a beast tide, but a mere outing with someone she liked.
Someone she liked...
The word startled Qin Yiyao, causing a ripple of panic to surface in her otherwise cool eyes.
"You really did come," Mu Qingge’s indifferent voice sounded in her ear, dispersing the romantic thoughts in her heart.
The words revealed neither joy nor anger.
However, Qin Yiyao knew that her last words, tinged with a threat, had already angered the red-clad young man before her.
