Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort-Chapter 306: All Debts to Me Must Be Repaid (Part 9)
Suddenly, the red curtain of the carriage was pulled open, revealing several unfamiliar yet stern and resolute faces.
The palace maids were startled, while Qin Yiyao quickly searched among these faces. Not seeing the face she anticipated, her eyes were filled with disappointment...
The Dragon Tooth Guards parted to the sides, revealing Mo Yang.
Standing outside the carriage, he said to Qin Yiyao, "Princess, everything has been resolved. Please step down; Lord is waiting for you."
Those words ignited hope in Qin Yiyao’s eyes.
She lost her usual calm, swiftly jumping off the carriage, and under Mo Yang’s guidance, headed straight for Mu Qingge.
Behind her, the palace maids who followed were overwhelmed by the sight of scattered corpses and blood-stained earth, covering their mouths in nausea, prompting disdainful looks from several Dragon Tooth Guards.
Closer, closer...
That tall, slender figure made Qin Yiyao hesitate.
She couldn’t fathom Mu Qingge’s true intention here, only knowing that seeing that figure she desperately tried to forget made her heart pound violently like a drum.
Finally, she came close. She saw the body of Helian Ba under Mu Qingge’s foot.
Only then did she notice everything around her. All the members of the Tu Country delegation lay dead here, leaving only her bridal party alive, and their deaths were gruesome.
It wasn’t that Mu Qingge or the Dragon Tooth Guards had a penchant for brutal killings; they simply killed using the simplest, quickest methods. They aimed for fatal spots, leaving heads severed or bodies ruptured.
In short, their moves were to claim lives.
These efficient techniques were personally taught by Mu Qingge to the Dragon Tooth Guards.
Qin Yiyao stood still, staring at the tall figure, words trapped in her throat. She had countless questions but didn’t know how to begin.
Mu Qingge turned around, her clear and profound gaze unaffected by the prior slaughter.
When Qin Yiyao gazed into those penetrating eyes, she suddenly forgot everything, as if sinking into them.
The blazing figure, radiant as the sun, fiery as flame, moved slowly towards her. Qin Yiyao felt unable to move, seemingly encompassed by her brilliance.
"Come with me." Suddenly, a voice as clear as a spring broke Qin Yiyao’s daze.
Unknowingly, she followed Mu Qingge, distancing themselves from others, until they stopped in a densely wooded grove.
Only then, from countless questions, did she ask the one she most wanted answered: "Why?"
"Helian Zhan does not suit you." Mu Qingge looked at her, as she looked at Mu Qingge, hoping to find hints of expectation in her tranquility. But the result was disappointing.
Qin Yiyao masked her light disappointment, lowering her eyes, speaking coolly, "The marriage is set; what does suitability matter?"
"I’ll take you back." Mu Qingge spoke again.
Qin Yiyao lifted her head abruptly, eyes shining.
After a pause, Mu Qingge added, "You can also go wherever you want. From now on, you’re free."
"What do you mean?" Qin Yiyao felt a pang in her heart; Mu Qingge’s intent wasn’t what she hoped for.
Her eyes struggled to hide the pain, which didn’t escape Mu Qingge’s notice. Sighing inwardly, she said, "There’s turmoil in the palace; the Crown Prince and Empress Han were ordered to be killed by Concubine Jiang and Prince Rui, who also killed the former Emperor..."
"What! What did you say?" Qin Yiyao widened her eyes, incredulous.
Mu Qingge spoke calmly, "And I killed Prince Rui and Concubine Jiang."
No! How could this be!
Mu Qingge’s words struck Qin Yiyao like lightning.
She knew her mother and brother planned for the Qin Country’s throne. She even knew she was just a pawn to them. But she never imagined they would crazily kill the Empress and Crown Prince, even the father Emperor. More unexpected was that her most beloved was her mother and brother’s murderer!
Why is heaven so cruel to her?!
Qin Yiyao’s face turned pale, devoid of blood, gray ashen. She staggered, barely able to stand.
Tears fell unchecked.
A moment ago, she was immersed in the joy of Mu Qingge’s appearance. Now, she was skinned by her cruel words.
Mu Qingge saw Qin Yiyao’s agony.
She said, "If you wish for revenge, you can seek me anytime. You’re still a princess of Qin Country, but you no longer need to do anything for Qin Country. From now on, your life is yours to decide."
"Revenge?" Qin Yiyao steadied herself, a painful smile on her face. She looked at Mu Qingge, asking, "How should I avenge? My father was killed by my brother, and you killed them. Are you my benefactor or my foe?"
Mu Qingge looked at her, and after a moment, said, "Consider me your foe."
Qin Yiyao swayed, revealing a desolate smile, "You’d rather I see you as an enemy."
"Your mother and brother died at my hand; you ought to hate me. As for your father, I preferred him not alive either." Mu Qingge said calmly.
Qin Yiyao supported herself against a tree trunk, keeping herself upright.
Her heart felt torn apart: "Why? Why?" Are you so cruel? Killing my kin, yet coming to save me!
Mu Qingge turned away, offering no answer.
She walked briskly out of the grove, commanding Mo Yang in the distance, "Leave a group to escort the princess wherever she wishes." With that, she mounted Black Flame and rode off.
Qin Yiyao watched her figure blur from view, unable to endure anymore, sinking weakly to the ground against the tree.
Mu Qingge rode Black Flame swiftly, followed by the Dragon Tooth Guards.
In the distant sky, the sun set, and the twilight bathed everyone in a blood-red hue.
"Whoa—!" Stopping her horse, raising its hooves.
Mu Qingge gripped the reins, gazed at the sunset, exhaling a heavy breath, muttering to herself, "So be it."
