Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Slaying the Master, Gambling Life for Life (Part 1)

"Hmm?" The tranquility in the cave finally made the Beiming Elder notice something unusual.

He stuffed the transparent bottle into his robe and looked up at Mu Ge lying on the ground.

"How come there’s no movement at all? Could it be that the poison this time is too strong and killed this brat?" With a hint of surprise, the Beiming Elder instantly moved to Mu Ge’s side.

He crouched down, his bony and extremely hard hand quickly grabbed Mu Ge’s pale wrist to check her pulse. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

The pulse was steady, seemingly showing no abnormalities.

The Beiming Elder let out a cold laugh, and the strength in his hand suddenly increased. His sharp nails nearly dug into Mu Ge’s flesh.

"Humph! Brat, playing dead?" The Beiming Elder almost crushed Mu Ge’s wrist bones.

Mu Ge endured the intense pain, without the slightest reaction.

As if genuinely fainted.

The Beiming Elder smiled cruelly and applied force with his palm. Only a ’crack’ sound was heard as Mu Ge’s wrist was forcibly broken by him. Under the skin, the fracture was abruptly pushing out, seemingly ready to break through the flesh.

The pain from the fracture covered Mu Ge’s forehead with a cold sweat, but she remained silent without any reaction.

Waiting, waiting for the perfect opportunity.

This is the most basic quality an excellent hunter must possess.

Mu Ge believed she was a great hunter.

"Heh, actually that enduring?" The Beiming Elder’s smile was creepy. He lifted Mu Qingge’s broken hand as if picking up a chick, raising her off the ground.

The weight of her body was supported only by the broken hand.

This pain nearly made Mu Ge collapse, but she still endured it, her head hanging as if totally unconscious. Yet, beneath her lowered face, a cold light of murderous intent surged in her tightly closed eyes.

After some torture, still no response was received from Mu Ge.

The Beiming Elder seemed to lose patience, throwing her heavily away. Mu Ge’s spine slammed against the cave wall, near-breaking pain surged, nearly causing her to faint.

"Humph, useless thing." The Beiming Elder muttered discontentedly with his back to her.

Seemingly, after confirming Mu Ge wasn’t pretending to faint, he began to think it must be his potent poison causing her abnormal state.

The battered Mu Ge lay with her cheek against the cold, moist ground, her tightly closed eyes slightly opening a slit. Through this slit, she saw the Beiming Elder seemingly busy with something as he lowered his head.

"A total waste, but if I let you die like this, I’ll have to find another attendant to test medicine." The Beiming Elder murmured to himself, yet he didn’t notice Mu Ge’s ice-cold gaze on the ground.

After a while, the Beiming Elder turned again, by this time with another black pill in his hand.

Drawing closer, Mu Ge’s thin and curled body was cast in shadow.

The Beiming Elder’s icy sharp voice rang again: "If you can’t survive my Spiritual Medicine, I’ll turn you into a Medicine Man to avoid wasting my Medicinal Materials."

With that, he grabbed Mu Ge by the collar and lifted her up, pinching her throat, squeezing her cheek to force her mouth open.

With the other hand, he moved to shove the pill into Mu Ge’s mouth.

Right at that moment!

Mu Ge’s heart steadied, suddenly opened her eyes without a moment’s hesitation.

The eyes were as cold as snow, as chilling as icicles, as sharp as a Treasure Sword, yet calm without any ripple. At the deep bottom of her eyes, the image of the momentarily stunned Beiming Elder reflected, and she laughed.
