Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 687: Xiang Yu Goes Missing and is Captured
Chapter 687: Chapter 687: Xiang Yu Goes Missing and is Captured
When Xiang Yu realized the person approaching was Mu Bai, a strong sense of unease suddenly gripped him.
"Xiang Yu, you bastard," Mu Bai’s eyes were bloodshot as he shouted and lunged at Xiang Yu with a punch.
"What on earth happened?" Xiang Yu quickly dodged and took the opportunity to yell out.
"You don’t know what you did yourself?" Mu Bai said through clenched teeth.
Just as Xiang Yu was dodging and trying to ask what was going on, he was suddenly struck hard from behind and then everything went black. Before losing consciousness, he could still see the fierce look in Mu Bai’s eyes.
He didn’t know how much time had passed, but Xiang Yu felt like he had slept for a long time. When he finally awoke, he realized he was hanging in a pitch-dark room.
"Damn it, what’s going on?" Xiang Yu couldn’t help but curse.
Just after he finished speaking, the lights in the room suddenly turned on, the incandescent light so bright that he could barely open his eyes.
"Could you keep the lights on? This is bad for the eyes, don’t you know that? Why are you so keen on saving electricity?" Xiang Yu said irritably.
"You sure can sleep; you’ve been hanging there the whole day. Are you made of wood?" one of the men said.
As soon as the man finished speaking, several people entered from outside, led by none other than Mu Bai.
Mu Bai came in hurriedly, and upon seeing that Xiang Yu had finally awakened, he kicked Xiang Yu without saying another word. With his hands tied up, Xiang Yu braced his entire body with his hands and countered with a kick at Mu Bai.
Mu Bai couldn’t withstand the force and nearly fell backward. Furious, he picked up a whip from the side, intending to take his anger out on Xiang Yu.
"Hold on, hold on, let’s clear things up before you hit me. After all, I’m your boss, how can you treat me like this?" Xiang Yu said.
"Our boss? Dream on," Mu Bai said, and lashed out with his whip. Xiang Yu couldn’t dodge in time and the whip struck him solidly.
Wearing very little, a bloody mark immediately appeared on Xiang Yu’s clothes.
"Damn it, that hurts, you know?" Xiang Yu yelled in pain.
Mu Bai and the others were speechless. Of course, they hit him to cause pain; otherwise, why would they bother hitting him?
Just as Mu Bai wound up for another lash, Xiang Yu suddenly shouted, "Okay, okay, I give up. Aren’t you supposed to tell me what happened first?"
"What happened? You’re asking what happened? Did you kill our boss?" Mu Bai’s eyes turned blood-red, his hands trembled, and he lashed out forcefully again, striking Xiang Yu.
Upon hearing the news, Xiang Yu’s mind went blank. Dong Ze had been killed. The benevolent face of the elderly man flashed through his mind, and Xiang Yu had always held great respect for him.
Furthermore, the man’s wisdom was exceptional. He had foreseen that if Xiang Yu left, his brothers would undoubtedly fall into chaos. Thus, he had wanted to hand everything over to Xiang Yu, hoping that Xiang Yu could manage it all.
Yet, just as he was ready to give up everything and enjoy his twilight years abroad, he was assassinated.
"Who could it be?" Xiang Yu’s mind raced.
"Why did you kill him? You know in your heart how he treated you. He handed over the company to you unconditionally, and he also wanted us to follow you and acknowledge you as the big brother. We didn’t agree at the time, but you didn’t have to kill him," Mu Bai became increasingly heartbroken as he spoke, eventually throwing the whip aside and bursting into tears.
He had followed Dong Ze for many years and their relationship was deeply rooted. He had always treated Dong Ze as his own father. Although he was somewhat dissatisfied with how Dong Ze handled the succession issue, he knew in his heart that he would ultimately follow Dong Ze’s arrangements.
But it was just last night when someone suddenly broke in and assassinated Dong Ze. The incident shattered him, sending him into complete disarray. Then he took his men and wanted to settle accounts with Xiang Yu.
In the end, they found Xiang Yu on the side of the road, where he was leisurely strolling alone. At that moment, they thought that heaven was truly on their side, as they had found him so easily.
"I didn’t kill him, it wasn’t me who did this," Xiang Yu said calmly.
"You’re lying, you’re just a big liar, you deceived the old man until he was completely bewildered, and then you killed him," Mu Bai was somewhat out of control and then picked up a whip from the ground and lashed out at Xiang Yu viciously twice.
Xiang Yu just stood there numbly, unmoved. Mu Bai was now irrational, not listening to whatever Xiang Yu said.
"Keep a close eye on him. Once the seventh day after the old man’s death passes, kill him to vent our anger," said Mu Bai before walking out.
Meanwhile, in the hotel, Tie Zhuzi and a few others were sitting together looking gloomy.
"It’s been a day already, where could Brother Yu have gone?" Tie Zhuzi frowned and said.
"I’ve already deployed all our brothers to look for him, but there’s been no news," Wang Ze said equally despondent.
Long Wu sat there, her heart anything but calm. She blamed herself, thinking it was all her fault for deceiving Xiang Yu. Perhaps he was angry with her and hiding because of it.
"When and where was the last time you guys saw Brother Yu?" Wu Jing asked with a calm demeanor.
Everyone spoke up about the last time they saw Xiang Yu. It was like a sudden realization for Tie Zhuzi when he said, "That’s right, Brother Yu received a text message yesterday, and then I dropped him off outside the Huayu Hotel."
As he said this, Tie Zhuzi couldn’t help but glance at Long Wu.
Long Wu recounted the events of the previous night. When it came to the point where she had lied to Xiang Yu, the others showed their displeasure on their faces. They feared that it was that phone call that led to Xiang Yu’s disappearance.
"Wang Ze, tell our brothers to focus their search around the hotel, ask the people nearby to see if they’ve seen Brother Yu," Wu Jing analyzed.
Wang Ze nodded and then made the call.
By now it was nine o’clock at night. The few of them sat in silence, each brooding. With Xiang Yu missing, none of them were in good spirits.
Especially Long Wu, who felt regret. Why did she call Xiang Yu? Since she had made the call, she should have gone to meet him.
As they sat in silence, suddenly Tie Zhuzi exclaimed, "That’s right, I just remembered. Last night we encountered Dong Ze and his brothers..."
Tie Zhuzi recounted the events of the previous night, and then said, "Is it possible that they got angry out of embarrassment and captured Brother Yu?"
"Why didn’t you say so earlier?" Even Wu Jing, usually so calm, was somewhat agitated.
Given everything that happened last night, Dong Ze and his group were the most likely suspects.
At that moment, Wang Ze’s phone also rang. It was a call from a member of the Tianlong Squad.
"Boss, staff near the Huayu Hotel said that around ten o’clock or so, a lot of people took someone away..."
Upon hearing this, Long Wu’s head spun dizzily. That time was exactly when she had asked Xiang Yu to come downstairs...
