Vampire's Blood Ascension-Chapter 31: Training Complete

The next five months passed quickly as Rudy trained under the schedule set by Elena.

He learned various skills, including swimming, navigation, climbing, basic cooking, and more.

Being the benevolent master she was, she had crafted the whole training to push him towards his weakness continuously, and because of that, Rudy’s control over his body became near instinctive.

However, their bond didn’t progress much from the initial stage solely because Rudy didn’t wish to put his hands and mind into useless activities.

Elena also tried to learn about his past, but he deflected all of her questions, and to stop her from asking any further, he gave her one statement:

"The more you mention what I wish to forget, the easier it becomes to remember — and I do not want to remember."

Although he was one of the top divers, the divers of his path still stayed away from him because he never even looked at them, let alone talked to them.

Being the great master she was, Elena tried to get him to make friends, but Rudy retaliated.

The only reason Rudric Ironwell had joined the syndicate was to build strength within the shadows before his real identity was revealed to the world, and thus, he didn’t care about forming bonds for now.

A blade shone as it scattered the sunlight while cutting through the air.

Following it, a head with blue sparks dancing around it rolled onto the ground, and a couple of steps away from it stood the body it belonged to.

Beside the body stood a towering man with pale skin, long crimson hair flowed down his shoulders, his vivid red eyes stared at the severed head of Austin Gray, and his lips were raised into a wide grin.

Blue sparks crackled at various points on his body, but he wasn’t seriously injured. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"Two minutes...I finally did it," Rudy mumbled under his breath as he lowered his sword and looked at the screen before him.

[You have won the simulated battle.]

[New battle]

[Redo battle]

[Leave arena]

As he finished reading the message, genuine joy filled Rudy’s heart. "Everything was worth it."

’I defeated one of the most talented irregulars in two minutes and that too without making use of blood essence... ha.’

He took a deep breath to calm his pounding heart.

At the same moment, Austin Gray’s head and body burst into blue static sparks, and before the joy could overpower him any further, he clicked onto the third option.

Darkness consumed the world around him, and a sharp sting to the head forced him to open his eyes.

"Hah..." with a sharp exhale, he inhaled the smoke, and his body returned to calm while his muscles wiggled like worms.

The dark simulation pod opened with a soft metallic hum, and Rudy stepped out.

"How did it go?" Elena, who was sitting in a chair near the pod, asked with a faint smile on her face.

"It went well, I won," he answered.

Her smile widened, she stood up from the chair, and showed him a black water bottle filled with red sparkling liquid.

Seeing the bottle, he tilted his head and asked, "What’s this?"

A smug expression appeared on her face. "Do you remember once you told me that the energy drink you used to like before no longer feels the same or is too weak for you?"

’I said that for you to stop asking about my past.’ He nodded.

She stepped closer, offered the bottle to him, and said, "It’s the recreation of the same drink just five times stronger."

’What...?’ He blinked twice and mumbled, "How did you get this?"

She placed her hands on her waist and said, "Well, as the best master in all the worlds, I asked Dr. Quad to make it for my one and only personal student."

His jaw fell open, and he remarked in his head, ’She is crazy.’

She pushed the bottle to his chest and said, "Try it."

He sighed inwardly as he took the bottle from her.

’It’s safe to drink ...right?’ Sweat rolled down his forehead as he took a sip.

Just as the liquid inside trickled down his throat, his eyes went wide, and a look of delight appeared on his face.

His lips widened into a grin as he looked at Elena and commented, "It’s good."

She puffed in pride and said, "Of course it is."

She turned towards the door, her expression darkened, and she mumbled, "You should rest for today... You have to leave tomorrow."

Rudy stared at her back for a few moments before he bowed down and said, "Thank you for taking me in as your student."

Elena smiled slightly and left the room without any response.

Rudy stored the bottle in his spatial ring and followed behind her before he turned to his room.

Upon entering the room, he directly walked to the washbasin beside the bath unit and threw up the drink.

"Ugh..." his face twisted into disgust, and he mumbled in his head, ’It tastes like piss. Not like I would know what piss tastes like...’

He looked into the mirror. ’Tomorrow, the divers would be made to enter the raid gate, then I would no longer have to hide all my abilities.’

He stepped away from the washbasin and walked into the bath without taking off his uniform.

The mildly cold water drenched him from head to toe, and he just stood there.

’I trained as much as I could.’

’I fought as much as I could.’

’I learned as much as I could.’

After half an hour, he stepped out of the bath, took off his uniform, and jumped into his bed.

He stared at the dark metallic ceiling and the LED light within it.

"Today may be the last day I’d sleep or live... but instead of trying to live more in these few hours, I would sleep because I know that I wouldn’t die... not until I shove all of them into the ground."

’It won’t just be revenge but a play for the world to see...’ he remarked in his head before he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
