Villain: The Play of Destiny-Chapter 104
"She talked to you about it?" He frowned and asked.
"Yes." Rebecca nodded her head. "She believes that our marriage will be beneficial to both our families."
"I see." He nodded and then sighed. "What did you tell her?"
"She just asked me if I liked being around you. And I said yes." She truthfully said and then picked up her phone before showing him an image.
It was the image of the two of them in the
car last night, and from the angle, it was captured, it looked like they were kissing each other.
"She also saw our Fiji Vlog." She playfully smiled. "Where you were looking at me so passionately."
"Right." He sighed and shook his head. "And your father?" He curiously asked.
"He did not show any opposition to the idea, but he wants us to take our time."
"I see..."
Keith leaned back in his seat and sipped on his wine.
"They have asked you to stay away from me if we are not serious about it?" He asked after thinking things over.
"Of course! Unlike you boys, the young ladies in our circle are not allowed to have fun." She folded her arms on her chest and displeasedly said.
"And?" He intently looked at her.
"What?"
"What was your answer?" He asked.
"I told her that I wouldn't mind marrying you." She simply said. "But I have convinced her to not raise the matter with your mother. However, she wants an answer from you."
Keith nodded to her words and again thought things over.
Yes, he was planning on courting her. However, he had never thought that things would heat up so fast. It was just too fast, and he sighed when he realized that it stemmed from a misunderstanding that she herself created.
"Regretting it now?" He smirked and asked, pointing at the image on the phone.
"Nope." She brightly smiled.
"Right." He shook his head and sighed again.
He knew that Rebecca had fed some information to her family that she was not telling him. He was not worried about her giving away his secrets because he knew that she would never do that. She was too smart to do such a thing. But that did not mean that she would not advise her family to make friends with him and be on his good side.
"Tell Aunty that we can hold an engagement. Private or Official, it's your and your Family's call." He gave his answer after a few minutes.
"Okay." She did not show any surprise at his words and stood up to make a call to her mother.
"She's your secret lover, isn't she?" Qingyue suddenly asked when Rebecca excused herself.
"What?" He curiously looked at her and then remembered the day she showed him her office. "No, she isn't the person I was with that night. Also, I haven't even kissed her." He chuckled and said.
"Then what were you two doing in that image?" She dangerously narrowed her eyes at him.
"It's a misunderstanding." He shrugged. "She was trying to make Christian angry, and so she pretended to kiss me. But all she did was kiss me on my cheek."
"Should I congratulate you or should I feel sorry for you?" She asked, trying her best to suppress her emotions.
Keith knew what she wanted to know, and he sighed.
"Do you want the truth?" He looked her in the eyes and asked.
"Would you lie to me?" She asked back.
"I like her." He straightforwardly answered her.
Her eye turned misty when she heard his words and her body trembled lightly.
"Congratulations then!" She said and stood up, ready to leave, but Keith grabbed her hand and pulled her in his arms.
Qingyue struggled a little to get out of his embrace, but in the end, gave up and buried her face in his chest, clutching onto his shirt tightly.
"Let me go." She weakly said.
"No." And he strongly refused.
"Why?"
"Because I feel like I would lose you if I let you go right now." He honestly said and tightened his embrace.
The two of them stayed silent for a while, feeling each other's heartbeat.
"Keith."
"Yes, Qingyue?" He gently asked.
"Promise me."
"Yes?"
"Promise me that you will marry me one day." She said and looked up in his eyes.
"You are not even going to ask if I like you or not?" He playfully asked.
Qingyue did not answer him. She just kept looking at him, waiting for him to promise her that he would marry her one day.
"Usually people confess their feelings before promising to marry each other, Miss Qingyue." He leaned in and nudged her nose with his. "But I guess we are an exception." He gently smiled. "I promise you that I will marry you, Qingyue." He said and then captured her soft lips.
Her body trembled a little at the touch, and then warm tears trickled out of her eyes as she started responding to him.
It was the most surreal feeling of her life. It was not how she had imagined it to happen, and it was under the circumstances that never crossed her mind, but she loved every moment of it. It was perfect for her, and her heart was finally at peace.
"I love you..." She whispered as soon as they separated.
"I know." He smiled and sipped another kiss from her lips. "You have my permission to make me fall in love with you. I will pray for your victory." He playfully said, which prompted her to burst out into giggles.
Yes, they had talked about it earlier. And she knew that his idea of Love was quite different from hers. Strangely, it only made her feel at more ease rather than make her anxious.
"I wonder what Aunty would say when I tell her that you kissed me." He suddenly said.
"No!" She anxiously called out. "Don't tell her!"
"Why not?" He chuckled. "I am sure she would love teasing you about it."
"Keith, don't!" She seriously said.
"Okay, okay." He sighed and planted a kiss on her forehead.
"I want to focus on my business... If we tell her now..."
"I understand." He comforting stroked her back and smiled. "There's no rush."
"Thank you, Keith." She sincerely said and hugged him tightly.
"You're welcome." He said and then turned to look at the person who had suddenly interjected.
"Ahem." It was Rebecca, who was standing at the door of the lounge. "I remember someone calling me out for being shameless. I wonder who it was..."
Qingyue glared at her as soon as she let go of him, and Rebecca provocatively smiled at her.
"Did I hit a nerve?"
"Shut up!"
"Oh... Aren't you happy that you kissed him before I did?" The blonde did not drop the matter and walked over.
"He kissed me." The grey-eyed girl narrowed his eyes at her and pointed out, but she did not really deny her words.
"Whatever." She shrugged and turned to look at Keith. "Would you join me for dinner tomorrow at my home?"
"Okay." He nodded to her and then checked his watch. "I have to leave for the Military District now. When should I pick you up for tonight's party?"
"I will come with you." Rebecca shook her head and said.
"Alright." He nodded to her.
She was wearing a very simple dress today, but given her beauty, it was more than good enough for tonight's party.
"I will meet you outside in 15 minutes!" He said and then left the two of them alone in the lounge.
Keith changed into a black suit and then made a call to Caesar.
"I need a Team with me tonight. Ryou and Victor will be coming with me too." He said.
"It has already been arranged," Caesar informed him.
"What's the situation in Delvon?" Keith was not surprised that Caesar seemed aware of everything and had prepared in advance. It was his job as the Head of his Family's intelligence network.
"Gouzo will take advantage of the instability to gain back complete control over Delvon. He is expecting you to eliminate Francis. As for Don Francis himself, he is in a desperate situation and is trying his best to understand what happened last night. He feels that he is being framed, but given that he is left with no choice and the fact that he loved his son dearly, he does not harbour good intentions towards you. There is no point in contacting him and making things clear as well."
"A dragon owes no explanation to a snake." He lightly laughed. "Since he has been pulled into this game, there's no way out for him now."
"Mistress has already arranged everything. He won't live past tomorrow." Caesar informed him, surprising him.
"Mother knows what happened last night?" He frowned.
"Yes." The old man replied. "She has also instructed me to make use of the information you made me gather on Christian Falken. I have recovered the evidence."
"Do as she has instructed you." Keith nodded and said. "Also, I am sending you some information that needs to be investigated. I need something conclusive on it as soon as possible."
"As you say, Young Master."
Keith ended the call and then sent the information he wanted Caesar to investigate. It was something he was not planning on touching so early, but since things were not going as planned, it was the perfect time to make use of it.
It was not going to be easy to cut off all relations between the Falken and the Grayson, given how much they cooperated in Businesses, but he needed to start on it now.
