The young dragon purred, as it softly licked Riva's palms.

From everyone surrounding it, the little one decided to choose Riva as its mother, as it softly and affectionately licked her palms, triggering an inherent maternal instinct within Riva.

"Oooo— ooo— young baby! Young baby! Chun wants to touch it too!" Said Chun, as it hyper excitedly tried to touch the baby dragon, only for Riva to swat its approach away rather strongly.

"No! You have to come gently–" said Riva as she pushed Chun away, however, she did not realize how much strength she had put behind that push as Chun was sent flying off the dining table and onto the couch a few meters away.

*GASP*

Riva gasped immediately, realizing her mistake, as she immediately apologized to Baby Chun, however, it was already too late.

With its small and cute rabbit nose sniveling, Chun began to try hard to hold back his tears, however, soon, big droplets of water began dripping down its clear blue eyes.

"So this is how it is…. Chun has been discarded now that there's a new baby…" said Chun with a broken heart, as he jumped out of the couch and stuck his head under it, burrowing himself under the couch to hide his pain.

"No…no, it's not like that Chun, don't cry" said Riva, as she felt genuinely bad for Baby Chun, however, there was nothing that she could do about the situation now.

Thankfully, Mama Chun comforted her that everything was okay, as just like all other babies, Chun too had a very short memory and did not remember small instances like these for long.

It was Chun's fault, for trying to jump over such a small baby, however, he simply did not know any better.

Having been surrounded by adults all his life, he did not know what it meant to be gentle and hence it wasn't his fault that he became too excited upon seeing a baby.

"Don't worry, I've got him–" Rocky assured, as he got up from the dining table and lifted the couch easily with one hand, exposing the tiny chun within who was crying with his head to the floor.

Suddenly, as Chun felt someone grabbing him, he struggled and tried to jerk free, however, Rocky held him tight and gently patted on his back to calm him down.

Initially, he resisted the consoling, however, soon he nestled himself in Rocky's arms, enjoying his warmth as he shed some tears there.

Suppressing a smile, Rocky thought about how Chun called him an 'Evil Human' just a few moments ago, and was now crying in his arms.

Perhaps this was how kids were and despite it being cumbersome, Rocky was quite amused by how their innocent minds worked.

On the other side, Riva too played gently with the baby dragon, who was now safely nestled within her arms.

She seemed to be completely enamored by it, as she kept staring at it as if it were the most precious thing in the world, seemingly falling in love with it at first sight.

"Rocky, can I raise this one as my own?" Riva questioned, as she really wanted to raise this baby dragon as her own, however, Rocky simply shook his head and refused to give a definitive answer.

"The egg is not my property alone, it's the whole team who worked hard to retrieve it and we haven't sorted out its ownership as of yet.

While I don't think anyone would mind you raising the Dragon, I don't want to take their support for granted either" Rocky said, as he explained to Riva how he alone could not make this decision.

Seeing how happy Riva was playing with baby Chun and how mesmerized she looked while holding the baby dragon, Rocky did intend to let her raise it if possible, however, only if his team agreed to it too.

Nodding, Riva accepted that answer as although she wanted to badly raise the dragon as her own, she understood that Rocky had reservations of his own.

An Abyssal Dragon baby could easily be sold for tens of millions of Tower Gold and could make for an excellent soul pet, which was why many seeked to buy one.

Since adult dragons were nearly impossible to soul bind with, the maximum worth of a baby dragon was only until it was less than 2 weeks old, after which its size and personality started to develop rapidly, making it difficult to work with.

For the first two weeks of its life however, a newborn dragon was like a clean slate that could be tempered however one wanted to, and judging by how Riva was caring for this one, Rocky had a feeling that she might spoil it rotten.

"So… is it a boy or a girl?" Rocky asked, as he did not have an opportunity to look at its underbelly region yet, to determine its sex.

"It's a girl…." Riva replied, a soft smile spreading on her face as she seemed very happy that it was a girl who usually had much gentler temperament in general to male dragons.

"Have you thought of a name?" Rocky asked next, as he could see how Riva was intensely thinking about a name.

"Crystal" Riva said, as although Rocky felt weird about naming a powerful Abyssal Dragon 'Crystal', he simply nodded his head in agreement.

*Kuru* *Kuru*

Crystal said, bobbing her tiny head happily from side to side as it seemed to like the ring of the name.

"You like it? Do you like the name crystal?" Riva asked, as the little baby dragon licked her cheeks happily in response.

"Haha, it tickles…" Riva said, smiling once again, as Rocky let out a hearty laugh at the sight.

He seemed to have cracked the code to Riva's recovery and it seemed to be surrounding her with children.

There was something about the innocence of children that seemed to pull Riva out of her bubble and Rocky felt truly thankful for it.
