Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 375: A bit weak
As soon as I entered the sandstorm, I could feel the intensity of the sandstorm.
As expected of one of the taboo zones of the continent, the sandstorm alone in this place wasn’t anything to look down on.
It was definitely not something that normal people could have resisted. Even low level cultivators would have found it hard to resist this sandstorm for long.
But for me, it was quite easy.
I didn’t do anything at first since I wanted to see just how strong it was, but then there was a white barrier that appeared around me. With this white barrier around me, it was as if the sand couldn’t approach me at all.
The white barrier just kept away every single grain of sand that came at me.
It was as if there was something that was directing the sand to go in a different direction.
This was a barrier that came from the system.
It was a barrier that was formed after I crushed the talisman that I bought from the system’s daily store. Since it was a high tier talisman, using it anywhere in this lower realm was considered a waste and it counted to my daily limit.
It seemed that the system really had become generous with the definition of waste since the two of us had become partners. At this point, it was almost as if the system just gave me whatever I needed.
Though there were still some cases where it was restricted by the rules that god had set for it where it wasn’t able to help me, but it tried to help me in most cases.
That was something that I really was grateful for.
I wouldn’t know where I would be if it wasn’t for the system.
So that was why since the system urged me to find the red dot, I would go find it.
But I caused a disturbance by suddenly entering the Tarask Desert like this and this wasn’t missed by the residents of this place.
As I went forward, I could sense that there were things stirring.
That was because it seemed like there were parts of the sandstorm that seemed to go against the flow of the wind. It was almost as if there was something that was breaking the symmetry of the sandstorm.
That was the Sand Hogs that were stirring because something had appeared in their territory.
The broken symmetry only lasted for a few seconds before they suddenly blended into the sandstorm once more. These Sand Hogs had free control over the sand that they gathered around them, so it was easy for them to use it to blend into the surrounding area.
They blended in so well that I wasn’t able to see them at all, but I didn’t panic after seeing them disappear like this.
I just stood there in the middle of my barrier and waited for them to reveal themselves.
All of a sudden, there were spikes that appeared out of nowhere that flew right at my neck.
However, before it could reach me, the white barrier suddenly stopped the spikes. It was as if the spikes were frozen in the air before they dropped to the ground harmlessly.
It was as if there was something that suddenly took all of the momentum that the spikes had and tossed them to the ground.
There were more spikes that appeared, but the same thing happened where there was some kind of strange force that seemed to stop the spikes in the middle of the air and dropped them to the ground.
When the spikes suddenly stopped, it felt like the Sand Hogs had disappeared.
However, that wasn’t the case.
The Sand Hogs suddenly shot out another wave of spikes at me, but they were all stopped by the strange force once more and thrown to the ground. It didn’t seem like anything that the Sand Hogs did would have an effect.
But that didn’t mean that they were safe this time.
This time, I raised my hand and gathered lightning at my fingertips before pointing forward in front of me.
The lightning that gathered in my fingertips suddenly flew forward.
There was a zapping sound that rang out before a Sand Hog that looked like a cactus fell to the ground. It was slightly charred as if it had been burnt by the lightning that it was hit by.
That lightning wasn’t done yet as it continued charging forth.
There was another zapping sound that rang out before another Sand Hog fell to the ground.
This bolt of lightning continued several times before finally stopping at the last Sand Hog that fell to the ground.
Just like that, I had taken care of all the Sand Hogs that had been attacking me.
All of them were lying there on the ground, not moving a single inch. There was even smoke coming from them, showing that they had been burnt by the lightning.
It really seemed like there wasn’t anything that these Sand Hogs could do after being burnt like this.
Looking at them on the ground, I couldn’t help shaking my head and saying, "Isn’t this a bit too easy?"
If any of the mercenaries that had explored this Tarask Desert before were to hear this, they would have roared at me at this moment. After all, what I called easy would be equal to them risking their lives.
They would never be able to do the same thing since they would be affected by the sandstorm.
They wouldn’t be able to stop these spikes that suddenly came out of nowhere like I had done.
The only reason that it was easy was because I had the talisman that generated that white barrier from the system. If I didn’t have that barrier providing the perfect defense, then it wouldn’t have been anywhere as easy.
I wouldn’t have been as relaxed to find where the Sand Hogs were to take them down.
But even if they wanted to complain, there wasn’t anything that they could say.
The system was part of my power and it was my luck to have this system.
