Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 393: Be humble
Once all five of the sealed artifacts had been released, there was no suspense at all about who had won the bet.
Comparing the two sides, it was clear who was the winner.
After all, it wasn’t even a comparison when it came to the artifacts that were released from their seals.
It was like an adult beating up a child with how badly the young man had lost. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
When it was over, there was only silence that lingered in the air as no one dared to say a word. It even seemed like most people were holding their breaths as if they were afraid to breathe too loudly.
No one wanted to draw attention to themselves at this point.
As for me, I just casually stood there with a calm look on my face. The look on my face was as if I had already expected all of this to happen, so it wasn’t as if I would be surprised by this outcome.
In fact, I did expect this since I already knew exactly what was inside of these sealed artifacts.
That was the power of the appraisal ability that the system gave me.
But I also didn’t say a thing and just calmly looked at the young man as I waited for his reaction. I wanted to see just how he would react to his loss and what he would do.
After a long silence, the young man finally said, "You’re cheating! You have to be cheating! How could someone have this kind of luck!?"
I shook my head and gave a disappointed sigh after hearing this.
I didn’t have any expectations of the young man’s reaction in the first place, but I was still disappointed when I heard this.
I thought that at the very least, he would be able to accept this loss of his with some kind of grace. However, it seemed like I was expecting too much from him in the first place.
I was even further disappointed by what he did next.
The young man pulled out his sword and swung it at me without a single word.
But even when he did this, I didn’t show a trace of surprise.
There was only a single finger that came up to meet his sword and there wasn’t any blood that came out when that sword came in contact with flesh. The moment that the sword made contact with my finger, it suddenly stopped moving.
The young man deeply knitted his brows when this happened and then strained himself as if he was trying to push down with all his might. However, it seemed that no matter how hard he pushed, he wasn’t able to bring his sword down at all.
Since he couldn’t push down, the young man seemed like he was about to pull his sword back so he could swing it again.
Only, he didn’t get that chance as I suddenly flicked my finger.
"Snap." "Tink."
There was a loud and clear snapping sound that rang out before the sound of something metallic falling to the ground rang out.
When the young man looked down, he found that his sword had been cleanly snapped in half and the other half was now lying on the ground.
Before he could do anything else, there was a ’snap’ that suddenly rang out.
Then there was a sudden feeling of being zapped by electricity that filled him.
The young man wasn’t able to do a single thing as his body went numb and relaxed. He could only allow his body to slump down until he was on his knees and his hands were at his side.
It was only when he was in this position that he no longer felt the electricity stabbing him.
The young man had a look of fear on his face now as he looked up at me, but I just calmly looked down at him before saying, "You shouldn’t have done that."
I shook my head and said with a sigh, "You should have accepted your loss with grace instead of trying to use force to try to hide your embarrassment. You should understand that there are people that are above you."
The young man was silent for a bit before his face twisted and he shouted, "What are you guys doing? Attack him!"
But even though he shouted this, there wasn’t a single thing that happened.
He didn’t know what was happening and was scared to turn around at first, but when he tested it by turning his head a little, he found that he was able to look back.
When he turned around, he found that all of his people were on the ground with their eyes closed. It didn’t seem like they were conscious at all.
Standing above them were the lackeys that had restrained him last time.
I just ignored him while he was doing this and turned back to the sealed artifacts that were on the side. These were the ones that had been bought earlier and hadn’t been picked.
I went over to the one that Gao Fu Shuai offered me and brought it over to the artifact seal cracker to open.
He looked at me with a strange look, but he still did his job and started working on it.
While he was working on it, I said, "You should have acted humbly since there’s always someone who is above you in this world."
Everyone looked at me when I said this.
As they looked at him, they couldn’t help thinking, "Aren’t you the last one to say that with how arrogantly you act?"
But no one said it out loud.
After my voice fell, there was a burst of spiritual energy that came from the sealed artifact that had been cracked.
This burst of spiritual energy wasn’t as strong as the others, but it was still strong.
It was a Golden Core Realm Artifact.
This just proved that it wasn’t cheating, but rather pure luck since this was the artifact that the lackey had offered and it was still this good.
There really was no one that could match this kind of luck...
