"Host, the earnings of these businesses do not count as money earned from the items of the system. The squandering value comes from the buildings and businesses itself, whether they make money or not all depends on the ability of the host and the one that the hosts appoints to manage these businesses. This is all about the ability of the host and is unrelated to the system."

It was a long explanation, but I was able to catch the main points.

First, since it was only money, the only thing that could be considered gained was the properties of the businesses that I bought. But since they weren’t from the system, they couldn’t be considered items from the system.

Only the money itself was the item of the system, but it was impossible to earn money from money unless one was scamming people.

So if these businesses earned money, that was unrelated to the system since I would have to have put hard work into the businesses to earn money, which couldn’t be related to the system.

In the end, it was all about a layer of separation from the system.

But the second part was actually more important.

It was that the system was saying that since it was unrelated to the system, profit from the businesses wouldn’t result in my losing points gained from the system.

The system had even indirectly said that if the businesses that I bought were to lose money, I would even be able to gain more points as a prodigal since it would be squandering money to keep those businesses afloat.

That was what my intention was in making Lin Li Zi run the business for free for seven days in the first place and I had seen that I had gained points.

But this confirmation from the system was the best thing for me.

It would make me even more confident in doing other things in the future.

Such as ruining this business that was built up.

If I made it free forever and kept losing money, wouldn’t that be a constant source of prodigal points?

I would be able to cheat the system like that!

Or at least that was what I could have done if I didn’t have standards as a prodigal.

Simply put, it was the easy way out and there was no knowing how long the system would keep giving points, so it was too risky of a method in the first place. It wasn’t something that a super prodigal like myself would do.

Not to mention, I could see just how much this business meant to Lin Li Zi.

After the manager had finished explaining everything to me, the two of them had started going over details of the businesses that they owned in front of me.

I could see the passionate way that this little sister of mine went about her work, so I knew just how important this business was to her.

To destroy that just for my own self gain, that was not something that I could do.

But there was something that I could do, something that would fit my status as a prodigal very well.

Once I finished sorting out my thoughts, I waited for the two of them to finish their discussion before bringing up my idea.

"Are you looking to expand?" I suddenly asked when they finished talking.

Both the manager and Lin Li Zi looked at me with confused looks when they heard this before Lin Li Zi asked me, "Expand? Big brother, what do you mean by that?"

With a smile on my face, I waved my hand over the table and there was a pile of spirit stones that appeared.

The two of them were shocked to see this, but I didn’t mind as I said, "How about I invest some more money into the business and help you expand it even more? If you use all of this, you should be able to buy several different market streets in this city. When the time comes, wouldn’t you be able to control the entire economy of the city?"

The way that I said this almost seemed like I was a bad person trying to sway a child with candy.

But there was a reason for this.

I would invest in their business, but the real reason was to waste as much money as I could.

If I used my money to buy all these stores, then each store that I bought would give me prodigal points with the system since I was still squandering the money. Especially since I was planning on paying ten times the value of the store in the first place.

This was a win win situation for me and them since it would mean free storefronts for them while I got to waste more money.

The manager looked like he was convinced as he wanted to reach out to take the spirit stones that were on the table, but Lin Li Zi suddenly shook her head.

I was surprised to see her rejecting money, but I soon understood why.

"Big brother, we’re at a point where we can’t expand anymore. We’ve already expanded so quickly that we don’t have enough staff members to keep up with the expansion. If we were to continue expanding like this, it would only be a matter of time before cracks start to show and our business starts to suffer. Right now, it’s the time for us to consolidate our business, not expand further."

The way that she said this with a serious look on her face made it seem like she really was passionate about this, but there was only the feeling of pride that filled my heart when I saw her like this.

With a smile on my face, I reached out to pat her on the head before saying, "Un, I know that you’re working hard. Big brother won’t interfere unnecessarily."

She was touched for a second, but then she remembered where we were and moved away from my hand before saying, "Not in front of everyone. I have my image to maintain."

I looked at her with a warm smile still as the feeling of pride still filled my heart.
