Wasting Money to Become an Immortal-Chapter 61: Ten Guardian Lords
In the end, I just gave a simple nod before saying, "What’s your name? I’ll be sure to report that you did a good job later."
The way that I said this was like how a young master would treat one of his subordinates.
That was my way of establishing my power.
But...
The golden glowing man revealed an awkward look before he said, "Young master, this lowly servant does not have a name."
I couldn’t help looking at him with a surprised look when I heard this.
This was a man that could make an entire army disappear with a single flick of his finger, but he was saying that he didn’t have a name.
Seeing the way that I looked at him, the golden glowing man continued to say, "This subordinate isn’t entitled to a name since he is just a member of the Golden Guards, but this subordinate is one of the Ten Guardian Lords. If the young master doesn’t mind, you may refer to this subordinate as the Fifth Guardian Lord."
Chins dropped even further when they heard this.
Such a powerful man didn’t even have a name and he was just one of the guards that were under Lin Fan...
Just what kind of status did Lin Fan have?
But those with sharper minds were able to realize something important.
It was something that was added at the end of what this golden glowing man had said.
Ten Guardian Lords.
He had called himself the Fifth Guardian Lord, which meant that...
There were nine other people who were just as strong as him that were under Lin Fan.
Just having one person of this caliber was already enough to make one unbeatable, but ten of them?
Not to mention, he had said that he was a part of something called the Golden Guards.
If they had to guess, these Ten Guardian Lords were most likely the ones that were in charge of the Golden Guards, so there would be others that would be under them. It was unknown just how many people were in the Golden Guards and at the same time, it was unknown just how strong they would be.
But judging by the strength of this Fifth Guardian Lord, it was certain that they wouldn’t be that weak.
The one that was affected the most by this was Liu Ao Xue’s father...
After all, he was the one that had tried to attack Lin Fan earlier.
Realizing just what kind of people were protecting Lin Fan, he knew that he had just dodged a bullet.
If he had actually hurt Lin Fan just now, there was no doubt that he would have suffered the same fate as Elder Mo and the Breaking Fist Sect. He would have been turned into dust on the wind without even realizing just what had happened.
Liu Ao Xue’s father knew that he wouldn’t be able to resist that finger flick that had killed Elder Mo and the Breaking Fist Sect. He knew that he was just as helpless as those that had been on the receiving end of it.
The deeper that realization sunk in, the more Liu Ao Xue’s father felt a chill run down his spine.
When he looked back at Lin Fan, he looked at him like he was a monster.
I revealed an awkward look as I complained to the system, "Hey, why don’t any of the Golden Guards have any names? Are you really treating your employees like this? Are you a black employer?"
The system didn’t answer at first, but then when Lin Fan had called it a ’black employer’, it said, "This was not set by the system, this was set by the one that recruited the Golden Guards."
I was surprised to hear this, but then again, it seemed right.
The ones that had prepared the system were most likely the ones that had prepared all the things that the system has.
So that meant that the Golden Guards were also gathered by them.
Still, it seemed too pitiful for not to even be able to have names.
I asked the system, "Is there a way for me to give them names?"
The system quickly rejected me by saying, "The creator of the system said that these people are repenting the crimes of the past, so they are not allowed to have names. Host, please don’t make things difficult for the system."
Crimes of the past?
What crimes could these people have committed?
I couldn’t help feeling that there was something much deeper at work here, but it seemed that the system wasn’t willing to answer. Or rather, it almost seemed like the system wasn’t able to answer these questions since it was almost begging me to not ask them.
I guess whoever created the system had set these restrictions, so it was better for me not to push the system too far.
The system was my trusty partner after all.
"Thank you for the trust you have in the system."
I was surprised to suddenly hear this, but I said with a chuckle, "I’ll be in your care."
"Host, the system was created to aid you. This system is here to serve you and only you."
I was once again surprised to hear this since I never thought that the system would be this loyal, but it was a good thing to hear.
After that conversation with the system, I looked at the Fifth Guardian Lord and said, "Um, so are you going to stay or are you going back?"
The Fifth Guardian Lord revealed a bitter smile when he heard this, but then he said, "Young master, I cannot stay outside forever, but I can stay for another hour. That was the reward that was given to me."
Then as if he was hesitating, the Fifth Guardian Lord slowly said, "Young master, if possible, could I have some..."
Before he could finish, there was a voice that suddenly rang out, "What happened here? Where did our house go?"
