Chapter 141: Chapter 141: I Never Thought About Divorcing You

"Is there any point in talking about this now?" Vivian Quinn’s lips tightened. "The most important thing right now is finding Mason Landon."

"If you find Mason Landon, doesn’t that mean you’re going to agree to his terms?" Jett Sterling’s voice unconsciously rose. "You’re still going to choose to give up on me, right?"

"Jett Sterling, of all times, can you please stop pressuring me!" Vivian Quinn shouted, losing her composure. "I am trying to find Mason Landon, but I never thought about divorcing you!"

"What did you say?" Jett Sterling froze for a moment. "Vivian, are you telling the truth?"

"Believe it or not, I don’t have the time or the energy to explain it to you right now!"

Vivian Quinn turned to walk out. Before she had taken two steps, the man’s voice came from behind her. "You don’t have to look for him. I have Mason Landon."

Vivian Quinn stopped in her tracks and turned to look at him. "What did you say?"

"I said, I have Mason Landon." The man’s handsome face was tense. "Since when does he get to call the shots in my, Jett Sterling’s, marriage? The bone marrow donation is not his decision to make."

Vivian Quinn’s eyes widened. "You forced him to donate his bone marrow?"

"The surgery is happening right now."

Vivian Quinn’s heart began to race uncontrollably. "Jett Sterling, isn’t that illegal?"

"You don’t need to worry. Nothing will happen to me." Jett Sterling suddenly rose to his feet and walked toward her, step by step. "Vivian, you weren’t lying to me just now, were you? You never once considered leaving me, right?"

Vivian Quinn’s heart pounded even faster, as if it were about to leap out of her chest!

She spun around and ran. "I’m going to wait for news outside the operating room!"

Behind her, Jett Sterling watched her figure fleeing in a panic and couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle.

「 」

The doors to the operating room didn’t open until after eleven o’clock at night.

A doctor walked out, smiling and nodding at Vivian Quinn. "It was a success."

Vivian Quinn was stunned for a moment, then became so happy she was at a loss for words. "That’s wonderful! Joy has finally made it to this day!"

The doctor continued, "Because Joy underwent the bone marrow transplant while in a deep coma, the risks were enormous. We practically snatched her back from the jaws of death this time. She’s very lucky."

"I knew it. I knew Joy’s luck would turn around. Thank you, Doctor. Thank you all for your hard work."

"It’s our job. Also, Miss Quinn, there’s something I must remind you of. Although the surgery was successful, the next forty-eight hours are still crucial. If Joy doesn’t wake up, other unforeseen complications could arise. This doesn’t mean she’s completely out of danger yet."

"I understand. I’m mentally prepared." Vivian Quinn then asked, "Is the bone marrow donor okay?"

"He’s fine. He’s been taken to a patient room. He’ll wake up once the anesthesia wears off."

"Okay, thank you."

Vivian Quinn breathed a sigh of relief. Even though Mason Landon would stoop to any level, she didn’t want anything to happen to him because of Joy Chase.

Jett Sterling wheeled his wheelchair forward. "Vivian, it’s very late. You should go get some sleep."

"Mason Landon should be waking up soon," Vivian Quinn said seriously. "He will absolutely not let you get away with this. I want to be the one to face him and see if I can resolve this."

"You can’t resolve it." Jett Sterling smiled. "He won’t let me off the hook. And he has the connections and resources to be qualified to come after me."

Vivian Quinn was alarmed. "Then what do we do? No, I absolutely will not let anything happen to you!"

A current of warmth flowed through Jett Sterling’s heart. He reached out and took her cold hand. "Don’t be nervous. He might be qualified to settle the score, but he doesn’t have the ability to actually do anything to me."

"Really?"

"I wouldn’t lie to you."

"That’s not necessarily true..." Vivian Quinn’s mouth twitched. "But Jett Sterling, I still want to see Mason Landon alone. It’s time to settle the score between us. I hope you’ll let me."

Jett Sterling considered it for a moment, then agreed. "Alright."

「 」

Mason Landon woke up sometime between two and three in the morning.

He opened his eyes. As his thoughts returned, a flash of hatred crossed his face. He tried to scramble up but found he couldn’t move at all.

The slight movement woke Vivian Quinn, who was on the sofa. She quickly opened her eyes and walked over. "You’re awake?"

"What happened to me?" Mason Landon watched her defensively. "What did you people do to me?"

"Sorry, it was my idea," Vivian Quinn said calmly. "I had someone knock you out and forced you to donate your bone marrow. The surgery is over now. It was very successful."

Mason Landon’s brow furrowed. He quickly said, "This couldn’t have been your idea. Vivian, you wouldn’t do something like this."

"Of course not, back then. But things are different now." Vivian Quinn sat down in the chair by his hospital bed. "Mason Landon, have you forgotten how you’ve treated me?"

Mason Landon looked at her. "Vivian, I love you very much."

Vivian Quinn gave a faint smile that didn’t reach her eyes, which were filled with coldness. "So your way of loving me is to drug me?"

Mason Landon froze.

Vivian Quinn stared at him coldly, enunciating every word. "I admit, you were very clever with the drug. You administered it secretly while performing surgery on me, and it was a poison that even I, with my medical training, couldn’t detect!"

Mason Landon swallowed, forcing himself to remain calm. "Did Jett Sterling tell you?"

"No," Vivian Quinn said. "I cut my finger and noticed something was wrong with my blood. I secretly had it tested and found out I’d been poisoned. I connected that to the change in Jett Sterling’s behavior toward me and figured it out."

Mason Landon laughed. "So you knew all along that I poisoned you, and you knew Jett Sterling was only divorcing you because I was threatening him. Why didn’t you just expose me then?"

"Jett Sterling was under your thumb. Even if I had said something, it wouldn’t have changed anything at the time. So I could only suppress it, pretending to believe he was cheating while secretly finding an antidote for myself."

"So you’re cured of the poison now?"

"Yes. I also know you installed a listening device in my phone to monitor my every move. Mason Landon, you truly disgust me."

"Disgusting..." Mason Landon let out a low laugh. "Vivian, you always find a way to completely shatter me."

"Mason Landon, evil can never triumph over good. Your schemes and plots were never going to succeed."

"You don’t need to preach to me about justice. I may be extreme, but I don’t regret it." Mason Landon sighed. "I just regret that, in the end, I still couldn’t win against Jett Sterling... Vivian, I can’t accept this. I really can’t accept this..."

"I sat here waiting for you to wake up today to sever all ties with you," Vivian Quinn said, her voice cold and distant. "Even though you were forced to donate your bone marrow today, you still helped Joy. For that, I’ll consider our scores settled. From now on, we have nothing to do with each other. I will never allow you to be a part of my life again!"
