Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Jett Sterling’s Son

Jett Sterling was curious. "Actually what?"

Vivian Quinn bit her lower lip tightly. "If you don’t get it, then forget it!"

Jett frowned. "Vivian, be a little clearer."

"I’m not talking about it. Just enjoy the fireworks!"

After watching the fireworks, the two of them went for another drive, not returning to Sycamore Bay until after eleven.

Wendy Reeves had prepared a late-night snack, insisting they had to eat it at midnight before they could go to sleep.

Vivian compliantly ate the dumplings and found a peanut inside one.

Wendy was delighted. "Peanuts are a good omen! They symbolize having a son soon!"

Vivian: "..."

Jett: "..."

Vivian finished a bowl, and every single dumpling had a peanut inside. It was blatantly intentional, but neither she nor Jett called it out.

After finishing their snack, the two went back to their room to wash up and were soon lying in bed.

The man quickly kissed her.

A smile crept into Vivian’s eyes as she slowly closed them, returning his kiss.

But after a moment, Jett released her. "There, now. Let’s get some sleep."

Vivian: "..."

"Jett Sterling, so you really didn’t understand what I was saying, did you?"

"...What were you saying?"

Vivian pressed her lips together, steeled herself, and said, "You’re so dense!"

Just as Jett was about to ask her to clarify, the girl suddenly captured his lips in a kiss!

Jett gradually sensed something was different. This kiss was uncharacteristically wild, verging on losing control.

He was a normal man and soon found it hard to control himself. Maintaining his last shred of reason, he pushed the girl in his arms away. "Vivian, you’re playing with fire."

Vivian’s face was as red as a tomato. "Jett Sterling, how can you be so clueless?"

Jett still didn’t understand. "Vivian, what are you trying to say?"

Vivian leaned close to his ear and whispered, "I’m trying to say that I’m ready... to be a real husband and wife with you. You can understand that, can’t you?"

Jett froze for a moment before it dawned on him. He let out a low, husky laugh. "Vivian, are you serious?"

Vivian pouted. "I didn’t just say it, I acted on it. You were the one who didn’t get the hint."

The man suddenly rolled over and pinned her down, his eyes twinkling like scattered starlight. "You’re right, I didn’t get it. But it’s not too late to understand now!"

The moment the words left his mouth, he lowered his head and sealed her lips with his.

Vivian slowly closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his neck.

As she thought about what was about to happen, her heart began to race, pounding so fast it felt like it would burst from her chest!

But she never once thought of backing down, nor did she have any hesitation!

The temperature in the master bedroom slowly climbed. Vivian felt as if a fire was raging inside her.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen and let out a pained groan.

Jett noticed immediately and pulled away from her lips. "What’s wrong?"

"My stomach hurts a little..." Vivian subconsciously reached down and her hand came away covered in blood!

They both froze. Jett was shocked and asked urgently, "What’s happening?!"

"Don’t be nervous." Vivian was rather embarrassed. "I got my period."

Jett: "..."

Vivian suppressed a laugh. "I need to go to the bathroom to take care of this. You should have someone change the sheets."

"I’ll carry you."

"Okay."

When Vivian came out of the bathroom, Jett was waiting for her with a glass of water. "Nanny Jenner said you should drink some brown sugar water."

"Mmm." Vivian drank the warm brown sugar water and instantly felt her stomach cramps ease.

"Feeling better?"

"Much better."

Vivian put down the glass and looked at the man. Their eyes met, and remembering what had just happened, she felt incredibly awkward and quickly looked away!

Jett seemed to see right through her. He smiled and gently stroked her hair. "Mrs. Sterling, you really know how to torment a man!"

"Stop talking..." Vivian wished she could find a hole to crawl into. "I didn’t do it on purpose. I didn’t expect it to suddenly..."

"Alright, I won’t tease you anymore." Jett gave her a peck on the cheek. "Let’s sleep."

"Okay."

...

Vivian slept exceptionally soundly and didn’t wake up until noon.

Even more surprisingly, Jett was also still asleep in bed beside her.

Vivian pinched his nose, and the man quickly opened his eyes. "What’s wrong?"

"Time to get up. It’s already very late."

"Alright."

Vivian used the remote to open the curtains and exclaimed in pleasant surprise, "Jett, it’s snowing outside!"

"Snow makes you this happy?"

"Of course I’m happy! Seeing such heavy snow on the first day of the New Year is the best."

"As long as you’re happy."

After they got up and washed, the man got into his wheelchair, and Vivian pushed him downstairs.

Wendy Reeves was sitting in the living room while a maid did her nails. She glanced over at the two of them and said, "Why did you sleep in so late?"

Vivian felt a little embarrassed, but Jett said calmly, "It’s a holiday. We’re allowed."

Wendy didn’t say anything more and instructed Nanny Jenner, "Prepare lunch. I’m taking the two of them to burn incense this afternoon."

Jett frowned. "Who said we were going to burn incense with you?"

"Going to burn incense and pray to Buddha on the first day of the Lunar New Year is a tradition. Now that you’re married, you should respect traditional customs even more."

"I don’t believe in Buddhism."

"Pah, pah, pah!" Wendy said hurriedly. "Don’t say such things! It’s better to be safe than sorry, understand?"

"I’m not going, and neither is Vivian."

"Jett, you..." Wendy was furious. "A grown son really won’t listen to his mother! Why can’t you just listen to me for once? I’m taking you to pray to Buddha because I hope you’ll have an heir sooner rather than later!"

"You don’t need to worry about that."

The mother and son faced off in a tense standoff. Suddenly, a bodyguard hurried in. "Master Sterling, there’s someone outside..."

Wendy said dismissively, "So someone’s here. What’s there to be nervous about? It’s probably just someone from the Sterling Family here for a New Year’s visit."

"No, it’s a child. A little boy. He claims to be your son, Master Sterling!"

Everyone: "..."

Wendy was stunned for a second, then scoffed. "You all know how desperate I am for a grandson, but you don’t have to make up stories like this just to make me happy. How could Jett possibly have a son?"

The bodyguard swallowed hard. "Ma’am, the thing is... the little boy looks exactly like Master Sterling!"

"How is that possible?" Wendy forgot all about her manicure and shot to her feet. "Take me to see!"

Vivian’s heart skipped a beat. A strange, indescribable feeling washed over her for some unknown reason.

She followed them out. The main door opened to reveal an adorable little boy, about two or three years old, standing outside. He was wearing a white down jacket and a fluffy hat, looking incredibly cute.

His back was to the door. Hearing it open, he slowly turned around, leaving everyone utterly stunned!

Just as the bodyguard had said, the boy’s face was practically carved from the same mold as Jett Sterling’s. He was a miniature version of Jett!
