Who Brought Him into the Cultivation World?-Chapter 323 - 265: The Vast True Body of the Wood Spirit
In Han Yu’s awestruck gaze, the entire mountain range presented a completely different scene.
The once undulating peaks now more closely resembled five enormous fingers. It wasn’t the kind of image one could associate with it at first glance, yet the more Han Yu observed, the more it seemed to him.
The mountains stretched from west to east, with the eastern peaks drooping, winding outwards, appearing much like a vine in their connection.
"Jade Dew Buddha Hand!"
Han Yu exclaimed, stunned that this entire mountain range bore such a striking resemblance to the Jade Dew Buddha Hand.
The Artifact Spirit peered through the Sea of Consciousness, also examining this place that bore such an uncanny resemblance through Han Yu’s vision.
"The more you look at it, the more it truly resembles it. Your luck’s incredible; you might have really found the original body of the Wood Spirit."
Qing Wan watched Han Yu’s peculiar behavior, imitating his head tilt as she looked at her village, but she couldn’t make it out clearly. So she also lay down on the ground following his posture.
"What are you doing?"
As a fragrant breeze rushed towards him, Han Yu turned around to see the girl sprawled on the ground like him, somewhat bluntly.
"I want to see what you’re looking at."
Qing Wan said, curiously mimicking his head tilt, but the more she looked, the more peculiar her expression became.
She hesitated, somewhat uncertainly asking, "Is that like the Jade Dew Buddha Hand?"
That’s settled!
If even she said so, then there was no escaping it.
Han Yu secretly communicated with the Artifact Spirit. If this wasn’t a coincidence, then the original body of the Wood Spirit was extraordinarily large!
"Do you think this entire thing is the original body of the Wood Spirit?"
If the entire mountain was indeed the Jade Dew Buddha Hand, how would such a thing grow to become such a massive entity?
"Who told you that thing is the Jade Dew Buddha Hand?"
The Artifact Spirit glanced at him and retorted.
Now that’s interesting.
"Hey! Didn’t you yourself say the Spirit of the Five Elements is related to a powerful life entity and a supreme treasure as a Spirit Body!"
Han Yu replied in annoyance, remembering those words clearly from just a few days prior.
"Then let me ask you, do those mountains count as lifeless or living?"
The Artifact Spirit questioned once again.
This stumped Han Yu. Do mountains count as living?
Mountains are naturally not alive, but the things within them are.
"I guess that little deer might just be the Spirit Body spawned collectively by these mountains."
Only when these mountains’ lives connect as a whole does it meet the prerequisite of a powerful life "entity," much like how the Majestic Power of Heaven and Earth’s miraculous craftsmanship sculpted this colossal Jade Dew Buddha Hand.
When the vegetation of these mountains fortuitously united into one, with the enlightenment of heaven and earth, the little deer as a Spirit Body emerged.
Therefore, in the cave, those Jade Dew Buddha Hands were likely collected and planted by the Wood Spirit, most beloved because of their resemblance to its original body.
"The Wood Spirit still seems unable to wield its own body. Otherwise, these mountains, being its body, would be terrifying if mobilized."
The Artifact Spirit stated with a solemn expression.
At this moment, Han Yu got up with a beaming smile. Now that he found the original body of the Wood Spirit, there was no doubt about the West River Pill anymore. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Even his gaze towards Qing Wan became clearer; she was again a valuable customer!
The little girl wasn’t foolish either. Seeing the mountain peaks connecting into such a likeness to the Buddha Hand planted by the Mountain Spirit, she immediately caught on.
"Did you find the lord of the Mountain Spirit?"
Han Yu didn’t hide it, nodding as he spoke.
"If I’m not mistaken, your Mountain Spirit Lord is still somewhere in those mountains."
"Do you want to take our Mountain Spirit away?"
Qing Wan’s face showed guards, even though Han Yu hadn’t shown any malice, the Mountain Spirit was always their object of worship, a taboo in their hearts.
Han Yu glanced at the mountains, his face twitching. They really overestimated him!
"Where did you get the impression that I could take such a large piece of mountain away?"
"With your Mountain Spirit appearing, I only wish to speak with it, make a deal, and then leave."
Goodness, nowadays, even refining pills involves dealing with Spirit Bodies.
"Stop complaining. Remember the time with the Female Qilin inside Lin Fei, how much profit you made! Interacting with Spirit Bodies is never a loss, quickly have this girl lead the way."
The Artifact Spirit had already begun urging. With such a massive chunk of the original body as a gift from the Wood Spirit, there was no need to be stingy; it was bound to be worth it.
Upon hearing this, Han Yu also persuaded the little girl beside him, speaking in a kind tone.
"Let me put it this way! The Pills I’m giving you require the Wood Spirit’s approval, so you can gain strong Divine Techniques and various abilities, while I can get what I need from the Wood Spirit."
"This is trading with the Wood Spirit, not an act of malice. Even if it disagrees, I’ll leave straight away."
Even if Han Yu’s actions were thus rationalized, Qing Wan still hesitated.
"Are you sure you won’t harm the Mountain Spirit?"
Han Yu sighed helplessly, "If I truly had malevolent intentions, would I even bother telling you all of this! I’d just topple the mountains already!"
Boasting, Han Yu pointed toward the mountains, yet Qing Wan actually believed it.
"If the Mountain Spirit doesn’t agree, will you really leave?"
Qing Wan asked one last question.
"A transaction naturally requires mutual consent. I can’t take its things, and it can’t take mine. But I guess it’s willing."
Just the favor of one Wood Spirit on her exclusive West River Pill is enough to show that the Wood Spirit has a great fondness for her. As long as the pills are presented, the rest will fall into place.
For the third time, Han Yu entered the village, and this time no villagers dared to attack him. The scenes of his earlier battles were still vivid in their memories.
Qing Wan first negotiated with some of the elders in the village. The village wasn’t hers alone, and the Mountain Spirit wasn’t her matter alone.
"I assure you, I’m only here for a transaction with your spirit, with no other intentions."
Afraid his words might not be clear enough, Han Yu called out from a distance to reassure them.
The villagers’ expressions mirrored Qing Wan’s earlier hesitation. After a moment’s thought, they sighed.
"He did rescue us a few days ago, seems to mean no harm, fine, take him."
With the villagers’ consent, Qing Wan led Han Yu along the path and up the mountain.
The cave that once glowed with a soft, ethereal blue now gaped open, littered with fallen stones and dirt. The pool’s pristine blue light was gone.
The Jade Dew Buddha Hands, once lush, were now a mess, many torn apart, and the remaining roots were near withering.
"Mountain Spirit! Mountain Spirit!"
Qing Wan softly called to the pool and then waited patiently.
A quarter of an hour passed, and the cave remained silent. Not a ripple disturbed the pool that reflected her pretty face, as still as death.
"It makes no sense! Isn’t the girl favored by the Wood Spirit?"
The Artifact Spirit muttered with a frown.
Han Yu stepped forward and tried speaking to the pool.
"Wood Spirit, Wood Spirit, come out for a trade, how about it?"
"Are you trying to make me laugh? This creature is hard to deal with; what’s the use of calling it?"
The Artifact Spirit was amused by him and hastily reminded.
What else can be done?
"How do you usually summon the Wood Spirit?"
Han Yu asked.
Qing Wan shook her head; the Mountain Spirit rarely appeared, she’d only seen it once as a child, and the second time was just recently when it emerged to save everyone.
"So, how do you usually offer it tribute?"
Han Yu persisted.
Tribute? Aside from changing the variety of wild fruits daily, it seemed like singing was the key.
"Fruits, right? Just wait!"
That’s easy, wild fruits can always be found in the mountains, and Han Yu leaped towards the mountains to forage.
Meanwhile, Qing Wan sat by the pool, gently stirring the water. Once she calmed down, she began to hum softly.
Though she quietly sang by the pool, her voice always carried through all corners of the mountains.
Han Yu, searching through the woods for wild fruits, heard the song.
With the song echoing, the mountains seemed to fall into a hush, the rustling leaves silenced by the wind.
"Looks promising!"
The Artifact Spirit perked up in the Sea of Consciousness, this strange scene indicating the Wood Spirit was indeed present and responding.
Sure enough, as the Artifact Spirit spoke, a blue light gathered in the woods, joyfully darting through the mountains before soaring towards the cave.
"Hurry, forget the fruits, it wants the song, not those smelly wild fruits!"
This delighted the Artifact Spirit, laughing and urging.
The blue light flew straight into the cave, bringing an indescribable strange color with it.
The pool gleamed blue again, and the battered spirit plants struggled back to life, as shimmering light fell, stars seemed to cover the ground.
A girl appeared to be singing amidst the starlit galaxy.
Even Han Yu, just arriving, halted in awe, captivated by the scene, where the song-filled air exuded an inexpressible natural serenity.
"Perhaps the song resonates with the Wood Spirit’s love for a natural ethereal feeling, which is why it adores it."
The Artifact Spirit explained in the Sea of Consciousness.
Moments later, the song ceased, Qing Wan stared in surprise at the starlit ground, lightly reaching out to touch. As soon as she did, the stars flashed.
Under the gathered starlight emerged a little deer, glowing with a white sacred aura, shaking its head beside the girl, affectionately nuzzling her hand.
"Mountain Spirit."
Qing Wan happily laughed, then hugged the deer’s head.
"Outrageously lucky!"
Both Han Yu and the Artifact Spirit were green with envy.
Who said it’s hard to please!
