Who Cares About Him When I'm Married to the Richest Man?-Chapter 33: Sharing a Room...
People are truly strange. If Zion Fitzwilliam were a genuine man, given Elara’s recent heartbreak, she would surely have no interest in him.
But since he’s like a sister, it’s different.
Women are always more capable of appreciating the same sex.
Knowing that he’s gay, that kind of cold aura he has becomes enchanting, making her feel like she’s fangirling over a celebrity.
Especially for Brandon, he can give so much without hesitation; just thinking about it makes her head spin.
If a gay man is aloof and cool by nature, with a noble and handsome appearance, and still a hopeless romantic, that kind of appeal is just overwhelming.
Zion Fitzwilliam didn’t understand why Elara’s gaze suddenly became so peculiar. He glanced at the notebook on her legs, filled densely with work insights and some business analysis.
He was a bit surprised and asked in a low voice, "Have you started doing business on your own?"
Elara smiled, nodding somewhat proudly, "Previously, during my internship, I helped the team leader secure a small order, and the team leader agreed to my early regularization application."
She has already grasped some client resources and will soon be able to make sales.
She has rich experience in this line of work and is confident she can soon pay back his money.
Zion Fitzwilliam glanced at the logo on the cover of her notebook and asked, "Zenith Pharmaceuticals?"
Elara laughed and said, "Yes, although the company isn’t large, it’s a subsidiary of an international company with a promising development prospect."
Zion Fitzwilliam nodded meaningfully, "Yes, very promising indeed."
He had recently acquired the company and was preparing an investment for large-scale development.
The pharmaceutical industry has great development potential. Zenith’s previous growth was limited because the former boss was too altruistic, unable to bear seeing patients lose everything to buy medicine, so he bought many pharmaceutical formulas at high prices and sold the drugs at low prices.
The difference was made up for with profits from other products like medical equipment.
But playing this way requires an extremely strong capital chain support, which the former boss couldn’t sustain, ultimately leading to a financial breakdown.
Out of admiration for the former boss’s righteousness, Zion invested to buy eighty percent of Zenith’s shares. Although the company is still run by the original owner, he is the real boss behind the scenes.
So, in a strict sense, he’s her superior?
A strange light flickered in Zion Fitzwilliam’s eyes.
Elara was unaware of such hidden truths behind the company. She closed her notebook and turned to get the pajamas in the cabinet but forgot about her limited mobility, causing her body to tilt and fall onto Zion Fitzwilliam.
Zion Fitzwilliam hurriedly caught her. Elara’s lower body was only in shorts, her slender legs tantalizingly stretching beneath, her body thin. His large hands gripped her shoulders, feeling an inexplicable urge to pull her into his embrace.
A faint fragrance wafted into his nostrils, stirring Zion’s heart, his heartbeat quietly accelerating.
Elara quickly regained her composure, sitting upright and apologetically asking, "Um, can you pass me the pajamas?"
Zion Fitzwilliam pretended to be nonchalant and asked, "Which one?"
"The pink one," Elara pointed to the wardrobe, "the one at the top."
Turning to fetch it, her pajamas were soft, with small bunny prints, and a faint body fragrance lingered, causing Zion Fitzwilliam’s mind to wander.
His eyes lowered, spotting a neatly folded piece of pink lace panties, with a corgi cartoon sticking its bottom up...
Zion Fitzwilliam’s heart skipped a beat, immediately turning away to avert his gaze, yet his mind couldn’t shake off that small piece of cloth...
Elara took the pajamas and noticing his strange expression, asked, "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine." Zion Fitzwilliam answered quickly, with a hint of denial that made it more obvious, settling onto the yoga mat and pulling up the blanket, "Let’s sleep."
Elara nodded, "I’ll change clothes first."
Zion Fitzwilliam’s body stiffened, soon hearing the rustling sounds, and even without looking, he could guess what she was doing. Lying on the floor, he dared not breathe heavily, eyes fixed on the blanket in front of him, forcefully restraining himself from overthinking.
Yet, the image of the corgi print refused to leave his mind.
Finally, Elara finished changing and turned off the light.
Zion Fitzwilliam heard her lay down, and for some reason, he was still tightly wound.
She was lying right beside him, sharing the same room...
The next day, Elara stretched and got up, just in time to see Zion Fitzwilliam rise with a weary face. She felt a bit guilty, "Was it uncomfortable sleeping on the floor?"
Zion Fitzwilliam shook his head, firmly denying, "No."
In truth, he barely slept all night, but it had nothing to do with the floor.
He blamed himself for not controlling his mind, letting it wander aimlessly.
Elara thought he was being polite and felt overwhelmed with guilt, "Next time, you sleep on the bed, I’ll take the floor."
Zion Fitzwilliam said, "Let’s talk about it next time."
Upon heading out, Grandma Fitzwilliam had already prepared breakfast, consisting of boiled eggs, steamed taro, steamed corn, and soy milk.
"You’re up?" Grandma Fitzwilliam looked at the two expectantly, her eyes lighting up when she noticed the fatigue beneath Zion Fitzwilliam’s eyes.
See? There must be some progress, right?! Haha, her cunning... no, wisdom and foresight!
It seemed like there was a significant progress between the two! Grandma Fitzwilliam couldn’t be happier, even finding Zion Fitzwilliam’s poker face attractive, "Come, come, eat more, replenish your energy."
Zion Fitzwilliam felt a chill at the sudden enthusiasm.
After breakfast, Elara and Zion Fitzwilliam left together, boarding buses in different directions.
Elara headed for the company, while Zion Fitzwilliam went to the police station.
Outside the station, Assistant Harris stood respectfully in front of the car, reporting, "Last night, the Eye of Agelessness apprehended thirty-six drug-related individuals. Kevin Chambers, who attacked Miss Hale, had his limbs broken in the chaos, and his wife has been notified and is planning a divorce."
Pausing, he continued, "The owner of Eye of Agelessness, George Joyce, showed self-surrender and might not face too much responsibility, but Northgarde’s branch probably can’t continue."
Zion Fitzwilliam showed none of the gentleness he had in front of Elara, his gaze somber as he finished listening, asking, "What about Rosalind Jacobs?"
