Why Not Make Both Twins 'Girlfriends'?-Chapter 4Volume 2 .5 - Twin Talk──! ② A Dream Room...?
Twin Talk──! ② A Dream Room…?
It was the night after the Usami sisters visited the Newspaper Club’s clubroom.
The sisters were taking a bath together. Naturally, their conversation revolved around the Newspaper Club, but then—
“Grrrr…”
“What’s wrong, Chii-chan?”
Chikage was furrowing her brows for some reason while soaking in the bathtub.
“I just remembered… I can’t believe they were after our scandal!”
“Well, it can’t be helped if the top three students in the grade are ‘good friends’. They seemed suspicious but haven’t found out we’re dating, right? So it’s probably fine.”
“That’s true, but setting a honey trap for Sakuto-kun is utterly despicable and the lowest of the low!”
“Nahahaha… That last idiom is a new one for me. Besides, Sakuto-kun isn’t the type to fall for something like that, you know?”
Hikari finished washing her back. Then the twins faced each other as they soaked together in the tub.
“So, how about the Auditing Committee? Is it like during the Hydrangea Festival?”
“It’s fine. We have second and third-year senpai and more people this time.”
“Don’t overdo it, okay? Sakuto-kun seems to be worried about you, Chii-chan.”
“I know. I’ll make sure to do it properly this time.”
Chikage was filled with determination, but the subject of the audit was the club her sister belonged to.
Sakuto had asked her to be strict in the audit, but she felt anxious about whether it was really okay to be thorough… Chikage sometimes tended to go too far.
“How about you, Hii-chan? What happened with the Newspaper Club?”
“The other three members were working hard on cleaning and organizing the clubroom. For now, I have read back issues from the past five years.”
“Why?”
Hikari smiled smugly.
“The origin of the word ‘learn (学ぶ)’ is ‘to imitate (真似ぶ),’ right? I thought I’d refer to what kind of articles the Newspaper Club had written in the past. Sakuto-kun had probably looked at about three years’ worth too, or rather, mayabe he remembered them.”
“That’s amazing… to remember everything after just one look…”
“I definitely can’t imitate that. Sakuto-kun is amazing.”
“Ehehehe, he is my boyfriend, after all!”
“He’s my boyfriend too, okay?”
And so, the Usami sisters looked at each other and smiled.
“By the way, why did Sakuto-kun start cleaning?”
“Hmm… Maybe it’s the ‘broken windows theory’? After all, the environment can affect people’s moods. Plus, it’s better to have a spacious area if you’re going to work on something.”
Chikage listened with admiration but then remembered her own room.
“Maybe Chii-chan should tidy up her ‘dream room’ a bit more?”
“Wha…!? I clean it properly!”

“Not that, all those stuffed animals…”
“They’re too cute to throw away!”
Prone to emotional attachment, Chikage just couldn’t bring herself to throw her things away.
Her room was overflowing with stuffed animals because she had kept things from her childhood.
With a hint of sarcasm, Hikari called Chikage’s room the ‘dream room.’
“Sakuto-kun’s room must be really clean and tidy, I guess?”
“Yeah… probably only the bare essentials are kept there…”
“I wonder what kind of room it is?”
“If he’s living with his aunt, it might be really tidy. Plus, it is stylish and filled with Sakuto-kun’s scent. Imagine having a home date in such a wonderful room——”
Chikage was lost in her fantasies, while Hikari, who had been watching her with a wry smile, actually liked Sakuto’s scent just as much as Chikage did.
“Should we finish up? Chii-chan? You’re getting too carried away with your fantasies that you’re turning into a boiled octopus, you know? Chii-chan? Chii-chan…!?”
What exactly Chikage got carried away with was unclear, but afterwards, Hikari ended up taking care of her.
“I’m sorry, Hii-chan… ugh… how embarrassing…”
“Ahahaha… just take it easy for now.”
While saying this, the thought of the Newspaper Club was on Hikari’s mind.
(If Sakuto-kun wasn’t with me, I would have…)
Certainly, she wouldn’t have gotten involved with the Newspaper Club’s issues.
She felt somewhat relieved with Sakuto around, but she wasn’t confident about getting along with the unique-personality members of the Newspaper Club.
That’s why she had decided to keep her distance from the Newspaper Club, but now that she has made her mind to help, she felt she had no choice but to go through with it.
(For now, I can leave the club afterward as long as I get the newspaper done…)
