Lin Fan was already used to this process of being led into the Laver Empire's royal palace.

He had come to this place so much that he was almost tired of it.

But today he had a reason for being here.

After taking care of that one task for Haku, he had come back to report on what he had found.

However, that wasn't the main thing that he was here for. The main reason that he was here was because there was something that he wanted to discuss with Haku.

Since the mission that he was doing wasn't actually one that was for the Laver Empire, but one that he was doing as a favour for Haku, the place that Lin Fan was led to wasn't the same throne room as before.

He was brought to a smaller room that was clearly a personal room. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

When he arrived, Lin Fan wasn't surprised to see that there were others there as well.

These were all faces that he recognized.

It was only natural that Rokuko was here as well since during the time that he had been away, Haku would always invite Rokuko over. And since she had been taking care of them during this time, Rokuko felt like she had to meet with Haku.

Or it was better to say that Rokuko was taking advantage of these sessions to get things from Haku that would help them.

There were many things that Lin Fan had left in the hands of Rokuko and those were things that required money or other resources. Rokuko's best method of getting these things were to get them from Haku.

As long as it was something that Rokuko wanted, it would be hard for Haku to deny her.

Which was why Rokuko really was the one that was the best for negotiating with Haku.

It might even be that she was too good at negotiating that there were others here.

The one that was in charge of the others was Agnus who was watching over everything.

After all, it was one thing to go along with the things that Rokuko wanted. It was a completely different thing to give her whatever she wanted.

There was only so much that the Laver Empire could give to Rokuko before it started to suffer.

So it could be said that Agnus was here to make sure that they didn't go overboard. Agnus was considered the chaperone to this that would make sure that nothing went too far.

The others were here to support her, but really they didn't do as much as her.

It was clear that Agnus was the one that had the most presence among all of them.

When Lin Fan came in, everyone turned to look at him.

"You're here." Angus was the one that spoke first, which was a surprise to Lin Fan.

Though the real surprise for him was the tone of voice that she had when she spoke to him. From the way that she spoke, Lin Fan could tell that there was something special that was happening here.

It wasn't hard for him to guess what it was, but it wasn't as if he would be completely on Agnus' side. He would help her because of the things that she had done to help them while they had been here, but he was also the one that had left things to Rokuko to handle.

The things that she was requesting were all things that he needed.

But before that, Lin Fan had something else that he wanted to discuss with them.

Rokuko was about to stand up and come over to his side, but Haku grabbed her and stopped her from doing so. While holding Rokuko, Haku looked at Lin Fan with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

After all, she was holding Rokuko as if she owned her and wouldn't give her up.

When Lin Fan saw this, it was hard for him to miss what Haku was implying with all of this.

"I finished investigating the thing that you wanted me to investigate."

A trace of surprise appeared in Haku's eyes before she narrowed them to look at him. This move from Haku confused Lin Fan since he had no idea what she was looking for.

However, seeing her do this did confirm one thing.

The way that she looked at him confirmed that she knew what had been there and was most likely involved in sealing that thing there. It was something that only the Laver Empire could have done.

"Only why would she send me there if it was something that was controlled by the Laver Empire? That sword is a powerful weapon and something that they would want to control, so they wouldn't send an outsider there to take care of it." Lin Fan thought to himself when he saw Haku's reaction.

Neither of them said a thing as Haku continued looking at him as if she was trying to find something.

Eventually, Haku broke the silence by saying, "So what did you find?"

The way that Haku said this was almost as if she didn't care about the results, but Lin Fan knew that this wasn't the case based on how she had looked at him.

However, he also didn't answer right away since he was trying to figure out what was the best thing to say.

In the end, Lin Fan just said, "I found a special sword."

Haku didn't seem to react to this, but that just told Lin Fan everything.

"She knew."

Instead of continuing to report, Lin Fan instead asked, "What were you hoping to accomplish by sending me there?"

This was very direct and there was no guarantee that Haku would answer, but Lin Fan knew that this was the best way to do this. After all, there was no way that he would have been able to beat around the bush like Haku.

Especially since she was the empress here and she controlled everything.

Even if he wanted to beat around the bush, he really didn't have anything to do it with.

As expected, Haku didn't answer right away as she continued staring at him. However, there was this amused look that was on her face that Lin Fan didn't understand.

She didn't say anything as she continued staring at him with this same amused look.

But eventually, she said, "It seems like you've gained something from this encounter."

Lin Fan was a bit caught off guard by her words, but he didn't show it on his face. He just continued looking at her with the same blank look as he waited for her to say anything else that was related to this matter.

Only it really didn't seem like Haku was planning on saying anything.

In the end, it was Agnus who suddenly cut in, "We all know that you've gained something from this since we expected it in the first place. We already knew that you had a power that was similar to the sword that was sealed there, so we wanted to see if something would happen if you found it."

Lin Fan turned to look at Agnus when he heard this, but he didn't say anything.

The way that he looked at her was as if he was telling her to explain this.

But Agnus didn't say anything as she looked at him in a similar manner.

It seemed that all of them wanted to see just what had changed with Lin Fan as a result of this encounter.

Rokuko suddenly broke free of Haku's grasp and went over to where Lin Fan was. Then as she stood there in front of him, she looked at Haku and said, "What were you planning this time?"

Agnus said with a sigh, "Princess, her majesty wasn't planning anything. In fact, her majesty did it with him in mind. This was something that was done for him."

Rokuko still had a skeptical look on her face, but it seemed like there was a small part of her that was moved because of what Agnus said. After all, it was Agnus who said this and not Haku.

She wouldn't have believed it if it was Haku, but it was different with Agnus who had been helping them the entire time.

Lin Fan also believed this since it did answer the questions that he had.

Though he was surprised that Haku would do something like this…

Since they had answered some of his questions, then Lin Fan decided to answer some of their questions. That was the only way that he would be able to get the answers to the rest of the questions that he had.

"I absorbed the power that was in the sword." As he saId this, he raised his hand and gathered his void power.

Everyone in the room was surprised to hear this before they started whispering to each other.

"Wasn't that sword the special sword that was created by that evil sorcerer?"

"Right, it was a sword that even the empress wasn't able to do anything against."

"He said that he absorbed it? Does that mean that he actually destroyed it?"

Lin Fan was surprised to hear this, but he could figure out from what they said that there was quite the story behind this sword.

"So it's gone now?" Haku asked in the end.

Lin Fan gave a slow nod in response before waiting to see what else Haku would say.

"Well, it's good that it's gone. That thing was a pain to deal with."

A wry smile appeared on Lin Fan's face when he heard this.
