There was no sound at all, but there was this blur that seemed to come from the sword.

When Lin Fan reacted, he found that there was a cut that was on his chest.

It wasn't a deep cut, but it was a cut that had actually reached him and drew blood from him.

This was a cut that had actually made it through the void power barrier that he had been deploying.

At the same time, Lin Fan could tell that there was something that had scattered his void power to a certain extent. Otherwise, it wouldn't have made it through and reached his chest like this.

Though in the end, this was the only attack that came at him.

"How did you block it?" The voice of the sword spirit rang out after this cut appeared on his chest.

A trace of bitterness appeared on Lin Fan's face when he heard this since the blood coming out of his chest showed that he hadn't blocked it. But still, it certainly could have been much worse than just this minor cut.

If it had properly hit him, Lin Fan could guess that this cut would have been much deeper.

If it wasn't him, it might have even been enough to cut someone in half.

So there was no doubting the power that was behind this one attack.

Only the outburst from the sword spirit showed that this was its final struggle.

Even if the sword spirit wanted to do something else, it wasn't as if the sword spirit had anything else that it could have done. This wasn't the kind of attack that could be used again and again.

"The fact that it was able to cut through my defenses like that, it means that this should have some kind of spatial attribute to it." Lin Fan said to himself out loud.

As if it had found a straw to grasp at, the sword spirit suddenly said, "That's right, it was a spatial sword strike. If you spare me, I'll teach it to you."

"There's no need for that." Lin Fan had only said this as a form of bait and the sword spirit had fallen for it hook line and sinker.

This wasn't a direction that Lin Fan thought that the void power would be able to go, but it didn't seem impossible to him. After all, he had already seen the void power breaking through space to leave behind those instabilities.

If that was possible, then it should be possible for this power to cut through space like a spatial slash.

This was something that Lin Fan had to study later on.

However, the most important thing at this moment was taking care of this sword in front of him.

The things that the sword had demonstrated were all things that were considered too dangerous to leave alone. As such, he really couldn't let this sword go even if it pledged its allegiance to him.

Not to mention how fast it had surrendered in the first place.

This kind of sword spirit really didn't have any loyalty at all and would betray him the moment that it was in danger.

The sword trembled once more, but this time it was more out of fear rather than desperation.

The sword spirit's final move had been that spatial slash so it really was out of tricks. It couldn't do anything as it watched Lin Fan raise his hand towards it.

When Lin Fan's hand made contact, the sword spirit felt the suction force coming from it. Feeling this, the sword spirit knew that there was nothing that it could do as its power was being drained away.

So the only sound that the sword spirit made was screams of pain and anguish.

Lin Fan ignored all of this as he continued draining the sword of all its power with the void power.

When he did, he could feel that there was a change coming over his body.

This was a sensation that he hadn't expected, but it was impossible to ignore since it was a change with the void power that he was using.

It was a direct change with the black hole that was in the center of his dantian.

"It keeps growing the more that I drain the sword of its power. But not only that, it seems like there's some kind of harmony between the power of the sword and the black hole."

That harmony didn't just give the power from the sword to the black hole, it seemed like the power of the two sides was combining together to form a kind of a new power that was greater than the sum of its parts.

It seemed like this was coming together to form a new kind of power.

"Crack."

This sound pulled Lin Fan out of his thoughts and he noticed that it came from the sword.

There was this large crack that had formed in the center of the sword's blade.

It wasn't hard to guess the cause of this since he was the one that had caused it.

From his hand, he could tell that the power of the sword had mostly been drained and there wasn't anything meaningful left for him to drain. But of course, Lin Fan didn't let go as he continued using the void power.

There was no telling what would happen if there were these remnant traces left behind.

After all, Lin Fan had no idea what this sword was and what it was capable of.

So that was why it was best for him to make sure that everything was completely taken care of.

Instead of focusing on the cracked sword, Lin Fan went back to testing out his new power.

He used both hands to grab the two halves of the sword and doubled the draining power of his void power.

"This really is much faster compared to before."

With how much power he had now, Lin Fan could easily tell that he would even be able to use this new power of his on those even with a higher cultivation level.

This was certainly another trump card for him in the future.

It didn't take long for Lin Fan to finish absorbing the rest of the power that was inside of the sword. Once all of that power had been drained, it seemed like the sword itself couldn't remain in the same form.

Once the sword had lost all of its power, it broke apart.

The sword turned to dust as if it had lost whatever it was that was holding it together.

The dust didn't take long to scatter even though there was no wind in this place. It was as if this dust was disappearing from this world because it no longer had a form.

Lin Fan just ignored this as he didn't care about what happened to the sword, instead he was more interested in exploring this place now that the sword had been taken care of.

The sword was the main problem since it had been controlling this place, but it was easier to explore after the sword was destroyed.

It was just that there was nothing here at all.

After looking around, Lin Fan found that other than the sword that was sealed here, there wasn't a single thing that was in this place.

"Well, this place was supposed to be a sealed off place for this sword. It would only make sense that there isn't a single thing stored here."

The only thing that was missing was traces of whoever should have been here to watch over this sword. For a prison like this to be built, there was no doubt that guards would have been arranged.

It seemed like the sword had taken care of the guards or else it wouldn't have been able to do everything that it had done.

"It must have taken control a long time ago or else it wouldn't have been able to build up everything that it had now. But that means that whoever had built this seal was someone quite powerful…"

There were only a few organizations on the entire magic continent that could have done something like this.

"One of the few that could have done this is one of the few empires on the continent…"

When it came to this, a thought popped into Lin Fan's head.

This wasn't something that he had been thinking about before, but it was hard to ignore this possibility when everything was placed in front of him like this. It really was hard to convince himself to ignore this possibility.

So that was why Lin Fan no longer remained here any longer.

After all, he was certain that there would be someone informed about this now that the sword was destroyed.
