Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds-Chapter 603 - 20: Decision
Viper Academy.
European buildings are hidden within dense forests.
Each building either represents a Second Ring Wizard or points to a certain Witchcraft School, each distinct.
The buildings are connected by narrow paths, making it easy to get lost if you are unfamiliar with the area.
Lynn, dressed in a pristine wizard robe, walked barefoot on the rocky streets, heading toward the cave.
His body seemed wrapped in an invisible force field; his bare feet remained clean, and the breeze didn’t lift his robe.
His demeanor was entirely different from the hurried wizard apprentices on the road.
"By becoming an Official Wizard, you can register formally within the academy, which provides a monthly allowance."
Natalie walked alongside him, explaining:
"The Snake Cave is the residence of Third Ring Wizard Akasha and the core of our academy. Besides the great academy founder, Akasha Wizard, there is at least a Third Tier Star Realm entity inside."
"So..."
"If you’re not Lynn, it would be quite troublesome."
"I certainly am." Lynn shrugged:
"Didn’t you already verify this?"
He was merely a thought from the main body ’Carl,’ but everything about him came from Lynn.
Not to mention Third Ring Wizard, even Fourth or Fifth Ring Wizards might not see through this.
Natasha pursed her lips.
"I believe you are Lynn, but..."
"A few months ago, you weren’t even an Intermediate Wizard Apprentice, and now you’re an Official Wizard. How many people do you think would believe such a thing?"
"There’s no choice." Lynn sighed:
"It’s simply a stroke of luck."
"By the way, how is Angus?"
"Dead!" Natalie lowered her voice:
"You were right; Angus died in his room. Before his death, he was indeed casting a spell, and he had long been an Official Wizard, just chose not to show it publicly."
"Angus attempted to kill you with magic, but encountered Jito trying to seize your bloodline. A magical confrontation led to one dead and one injured, ultimately benefiting you."
"..."
"Though it sounds bizarre, it’s indeed the most reasonable explanation."
Two Official Wizards who harbored malice toward Lynn died, inadvertently making him an Official Wizard.
The process...
Was somewhat speechless.
Lynn chuckled.
Things weren’t as simple as they seemed; calculating the timing for Angus and deceiving Jito required meticulous planning.
Without the various methods left by the main body, this would have been impossible.
......
Upon entering the cave, the first thing that greeted him was a hall resembling a ’Mercenary Service Desk.’
"Caw... Caw..."
A white crow with three eyes jumped out from behind the counter, its eyes blinking at Natalie:
"Oh!"
"Look who’s here?"
It cawed with a strange voice:
"Viper Academy’s most excellent wizard apprentice of the past hundred years, the thirteenth outstanding disciple to become a wizard before the age of twenty since the academy’s founding, Miss Natalie, we meet again."
"Honorable White Crow elder." Natalie bowed to the crow, extended her hand to introduce Lynn:
"My friend here just advanced to Official Wizard, here to register."
"Oh!" The White Crow tilted its head, blinked its three eyes rapidly, and its voice turned sharp as invisible spiritual power waves scanned over:
"An Official Wizard at sixteen!"
"It’s unbelievable; in the academy’s seven-hundred-year history, you are only the second to become an Official Wizard at sixteen."
"White Crow elder." Lynn stepped forward, bowed his head:
"There are special reasons why I became a wizard."
"Of course." The White Crow hopped back and forth on the table, its wings flapping nonstop while muttering:
"Every wizard has special reasons; besides, you’re still so young..."
"Lynn?"
"My goodness, months ago you couldn’t even pass the academy’s examination; I’m quite curious now."
It seemed to be checking some records, its voice became more rapid, and a layer of white light appeared on its body.
Lynn instinctively stepped back.
"No need to worry."
The White Crow’s eyes flickered:
"Your matter has been reported; according to protocol, you should drip a drop of blood on the academy’s identity card."
Saying so, it flapped its wings and sent over a token.
Drip blood?
Lynn frowned instinctively.
To wizards, every part of their body is a secret, not to be revealed lightly.
Especially blood.
If it falls into the hands of a wizard with ulterior motives, they could use it to assassinate him.
Much like Angus...
"Unwilling?"
The White Crow’s voice rose:
"Lynn, the specifics around your tutor’s death are unclear, and the academy does not fully trust you."
"If you don’t want to drip blood, you won’t receive Jito’s inheritance; you will also be expelled..."
"I’m willing." Lynn spoke:
"I’m willing to drip blood."
He reached out his hand, a drop of blood oozed from his fingertip, falling onto the token, where it seeped in and disappeared.
"Great!"
The White Crow nodded:
"I believe Jito’s death has nothing to do with you, but..."
"Hold on a moment."
It flapped its wings and suddenly disappeared without a trace; even Lynn did not notice anything unusual.
This is...
"It went to the Star Realm." Natalie whispered:
"The true core of the academy is in the Star Realm, where the Second Ring Wizards and Akasha elder reside."
Lynn slowly nodded.
He had heard similar rumors.
Viper Academy is divided into inner and outer courts; the outer court is where ordinary wizard apprentices live and study. Only those who pass the examination can access the inner court.
Moreover,
The true Viper Academy exists somewhere in the Star Realm, where Third Ring Wizard Akasha resides.
However, entering the Star Realm at will is a capability of Fourth Ring Wizards; even Third Ring ones can’t do it.
The White Crow’s ability stems partly from its unique bloodline, and partly from the academy’s support.
Outside the academy, it’s unlikely to achieve this.
"The identity card requires blood, usually done privately, not under the White Crow’s supervision."
Natalie continued speaking:
"It seems the academy still doesn’t fully trust you."
"But by choosing to drip blood, you’ve exhibited loyalty to the academy, so you should be fine."
"Alas!" Lynn sighed:
"Let’s hope so."
They waited no longer than ten minutes before the White Crow’s figure reappeared above the counter.
It tossed the identity card to Lynn, announcing:
"The academy won’t unjustly punish an Official Wizard, but won’t stand by idly when an Academy Wizard dies under unclear circumstances, especially not when two Wizards are involved."
Jito!
Angus!
Though Angus hadn’t confirmed his wizard identity, his cultivation had reached the level—he was also an Academy Wizard.
"Lynn, Wizard Patrick ordered you to follow the Academy Wizards to Abyss Cottage to suppress Abyss Creatures." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
?
Lynn’s expression froze.
"You have half a month to prepare." The White Crow flapped its wings, cawing strangely:
"Honestly, I admire you; regardless of your methods, becoming a wizard in just half a year is a fact, and resolving two Wizards unfriendly to you is a successful reversal from despair."
"Thus..."
"I believe you’ll be fine."
Saying so, it plucked a feather from its wings with its mouth and tossed it to Lynn.
"Young man, take this; it might aid you in surviving a crisis."
A feather from a Second Tier Creature?
Lynn received the feather, thoughtful:
"Thank you, White Crow elder."
