Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 352: Valemore Temple
The car left Pierce Residence, but Tanya Sinclair didn’t ask Declan Pierce how he actually handled things. Along the way, she encountered a few police cars that brushed past and headed toward Pierce Residence.
"Don’t worry, everything is legal and compliant." Declan Pierce squeezed Tanya’s hand. His palm felt quite cold, making Tanya frown slightly and instinctively want to hold it back. But Declan released her hand first.
Tanya looked up at him, only feeling that he seemed to have gotten even thinner.
Beneath the skin, his bone structure was sharp as a knife. In front of her, he reined in his hostility, appearing calm and harmless.
Tanya felt inexplicably emotional.
She asked softly, "Did you plan long ago to deal with The Pierce Family?"
Declan pulled his pale lips and said honestly, "Not before you told me you liked me."
Originally, he didn’t even think about living...
Pierce Residence is far from the city center, but it’s close to Valemore Temple.
Valemore Temple is a centuries-old monastery reputed to have been led by enlightened monks over generations, and the temple’s deities are considered quite efficacious. However, due to its remote location, except during holidays, it isn’t particularly bustling.
Tanya didn’t expect Declan would take her mountain climbing.
Her physical condition isn’t great, so Declan initially held her hand, accommodating her pace. Along the way, they encountered a young couple resembling college students, laughing and bantering as they walked down. The boy crouched to tie his shoelaces, and the girl suddenly jumped onto his back.
"Tired of walking, carry me down!" Girls at this age, full of youthful energy, are charmingly cute when they act spoiled.
The boy chuckled, half complaining about the weight, yet steadily carried her.
Tanya’s gaze followed them. She vaguely recalled at that age, she was probably chasing after Vincent Hawthorne.
But Vincent never carried her; rather, she had carried Vincent out from the mountains...
The hand holding hers suddenly released. Tanya snapped back to reality, seeing Declan’s tall figure crunching down in front of her.
He turned his head: "Get on."
Tanya felt a bit embarrassed, "No need, I can walk."
But Declan was stubbornly motionless, and she couldn’t help but smile, then climbed onto his back.
Declan’s back was broad, offering a great sense of security.
He carried her, climbing step by step, occasionally introducing the scenery around them, seemingly very familiar with the place.
"Do you come here often?" Tanya was somewhat curious.
Before Declan could answer, a monk who had just escorted incense guests suddenly stopped. Seeing Declan, he was slightly surprised but gladly greeted him with a prayer gesture.
"Mr. Pierce, are you here to pray again? Master Arion was spot on, he said an old friend would visit today! I’ll take you to see him?"
Declan: "Sure."
Tanya tapped Declan’s back, signaling him to let her down.
The young monk gazed at Tanya and paused slightly, as if he had known her for a long time.
Tanya: "Hello, Master." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
The young monk smiled and turned, gesturing for them to follow.
The pair followed the young monk through the side door into Valemore Temple. It was Tanya’s first time there, and she couldn’t help but look around. She asked Declan softly, "Are you familiar with Master Arion?"
Declan casually picked off a dry leaf from her shoulder, and with a serious demeanor, said, "I have no fate with Bodham; I only rely on spending money."
Tanya knew he was joking and playfully punched him.
They walked further until they reached the incense hall.
The young monk said, "Tanya, please wander around here. Master Arion will only see Mr. Pierce today."
The implication was he would only see Declan.
Declan frowned, obviously displeased, "What do you mean? If he sees one more person, will he immediately attain enlightenment?"
Tanya quickly pulled him aside, "Shh. He’s a master; naturally, masters have their rules. You go ahead. I’ll wander by myself."
Declan wasn’t very willing, "Why not skip it? There’s nothing special about an old monk."
He’s always been quite indifferent.
Tanya went to cover his mouth, "This is a spiritual place, be respectful. Go quickly, I’ll wait for you outside."
