Chapter 125: Chapter 120: Desperate Resistance

He had already demonstrated his strength, which should have been intimidating enough for Shadow if he knew what was good for him. He should have cooperatively confessed both his identity and that of the person behind the scenes.

Suspended in mid-air, Shadow sneered mockingly, "You bring out this pathetic excuse for fighting skills and expect not to embarrass yourself, King of the Night? You really have gone downhill."

Ye Tian’s face immediately darkened with anger.

This guy was truly impervious to threats. Instead of achieving the desired effect, Ye Tian was met with mockery. This guy was tough as nails.

Without further ado, Ye Tian approached Shadow. His patience had run out, and he no longer wanted to exchange any more meaningless words with him.

"Who sent you to spy on me? What exactly do you want? Are you going to talk or not!"

Ye Tian threw a punch, his iron fist landing heavily on Shadow’s abdomen. The tremendous force sent Shadow, still suspended, swinging in the air.

This punch was thrown without restraint, solidly striking Shadow’s belly.

Puh! Shadow spat blood immediately.

Ye Tian’s punch was incomparable; Shadow felt a tremendous pain in his abdomen as if all his internal organs were shattered, feeling as though he had been hit by a high-speed train. The pain was unbearable.

"Realize how tough I am now? If you don’t want more bodily harm, start talking," Ye Tian said.

With just one punch, fresh blood dripped from the corner of Shadow’s mouth, his face continuously twitching from the pain. It was evident that he was in severe agony.

With a fierce look, Shadow taunted arrogantly, "Are you fucking kidding me? That’s the strength you’ve got? Are you giving me a massage? Quite cozy. You should really consider working at a massage parlor, you’d make a killing there, hahaha."

"Fuck!" Ye Tian lost his temper at that moment.

This son of a bitch was courting death, daring to mock him—even when facing his end.

The nerve of him, to still call him weak! Alright then, he would make him understand what true regret was.

Ye Tian clenched his fists and unleashed a flurry of punches, hooking left and right in fast alternation, like a hailstorm of bullets relentlessly pounding on Shadow’s body.

As his iron fists pummeled at high speed, the thudding sounds of fists pounding flesh were audible. Shadow’s ribcage visibly began to collapse, deforming under the pressure on his lungs, making him cough continuously. Each cough brought out a mouthful of fresh blood.

After ten seconds, Ye Tian had thrown hundreds of punches; each one precise, each one excruciatingly painful for Shadow, yet never lethal.

"So, how’s the massage?" Ye Tian sneered coldly.

After the brutal barrage of punches, Shadow was extremely weakened, barely able to speak.

"Go ahead and kill me if you dare," he said confidently, coughing up blood as he spoke. "One day, you will die by my hands, and I will make sure you wish you had died sooner!"

As a professional assassin, no terror was unknown to him; he was well-prepared for today, knowing Ye Tian sought information from him and therefore wouldn’t kill him.

Though he suffered physically, to someone like Shadow, such pain was negligible; he’d endured far worse. As long as he was alive, he could withstand anything.

"Motherfucker, you dare threaten me!" Ye Tian exploded in rage.

This guy was indeed a tough nut to crack, with an armored hide, resistive even in this battered state, repeatedly testing Ye Tian’s patience.

Ye Tian pulled out the dagger from Shadow’s boot, his expression stern, "I advise you not to have any illusions, no one is coming to save you, only you can save yourself. I’m not blood-thirsty; just tell me what I want to know, and I can let you go. What do you think, have you decided yet?"

"Fuck your mother, use whatever tricks you have. If I even blink, I’m a son of a bitch," Shadow remained defiant.

Hearing this, Ye Tian truly lost his patience.

Ye Tian’s gaze slowly turned cold as he touched the dagger in his hand, the dark blade gleaming with a lethal sharpness suitable for a swift execution.

"Ever heard of the KGB?" Ye Tian gazed into Shadow’s eyes, murmuring, "Those guys have a way with handling criminals. They enjoy slicing off a criminal’s scalp with knives like this one in my hand—light and thin, very handy."

Upon hearing the infamous reputation of the KGB, Shadow shuddered. He was well aware of that terrifying organization.

"What, what do you want to do?" Shadow looked at the blade in Ye Tian’s hand, a sense of ominous foreboding overtaking him.

"I don’t want to do much, I just want to check whether the rumors are true or not. You said that a person won’t die from having their scalp cut off? I find that hard to believe."

Ye Tian said nonchalantly, then he held down Shadow’s head as the icy blade slowly approached. These words sounded like a thunderbolt from a clear sky to Shadow and were utterly terrifying.

Once the scalp was removed, a bloody skull would be exposed, the brain bones revealed to the air, eroded and oxidized by oxygen and carbon dioxide. The pain was beyond human endurance.

The most horrifying aspect was that the person would not die but live in agony, neither looking human nor ghostly, better off dead.

In fact, Shadow had anticipated that he might be tortured, but as long as Ye Tian didn’t kill him, it wasn’t a big deal. Given enough time, all wounds would heal, at worst leaving some scars. Scars were a man’s medals, and he longed for them.

However, now things had changed. Ye Tian had thought of such a disgusting method, something Shadow hadn’t anticipated.

It must be said that the moment Ye Tian’s blade touched Shadow’s scalp, the usually indomitable assassin’s defense started to falter.

"Don’t worry. I have a steady hand. I’ll only cut your scalp. I won’t touch your ears or nose." Ye Tian spoke earnestly, "I forgot to tell you, I come from a medical background; I definitely won’t damage your skull, you can rest assured."

His seemingly light words sent chills down Shadow’s spine.

Shadow clenched his lips tightly, struggling internally as the cold blade slowly moved across his scalp, easily shearing off the black hair. Watching his hair fall made the terror within him grow stronger.

He was very aware that once Ye Tian cleared off the hair, his bald head would be exposed, displaying the entire scalp to his opponent.

That’s when the actual cutting of the scalp would begin. As the scalp was slowly separated from the skull by the blade, oxygen would fill the space, and the pain he would experience was unparalleled.

Because the skull bones were closest to the brain, the pain was even more fierce.

Yet, this was just the beginning; as the scalp was being cut off in pieces, the pain would grow horrifyingly intense. When the entire scalp was horrifically peeled off, he would truly understand what it meant to prefer death over life.

This pain was beyond human endurance, exceeding the limits of the human body.

"Wait!" Shadow suddenly yelled.

Ye Tian paused with his knife, then sneered and continued to shave the hair, indifferently saying, "Don’t worry, I’ll end this quickly. Not everyone gets this chance; you should enjoy it."

"Wait, I have something to say," Shadow became desperate.

"Say what? Let’s talk after I’ve cut off your scalp. You won’t die anyway." Ye Tian was not in a hurry, holding his hair in one hand and shaving his head with the knife in the other.

"Just stop and I’ll tell you who I am right now!"

Shadow actually compromised, showing he was truly scared. This KGB-invented torture was not something ordinary people could bear.

If it were a small street thug, they wouldn’t be so scared. Just a scalp-cut, they had seen worse like amputations; there was nothing to fear.

However, as one of the world’s top assassins, Shadow knew too well the horror of having his scalp cut. Compared to this atrocious torture, amputations were child’s play. If Ye Tian had chosen to cut off his limbs, Shadow wouldn’t even blink.

Ye Tian stopped his blade and indifferently asked, "Alright, I’ll give you another chance, but if you don’t say something interesting to me, then I’m sorry, your skin is mine."

Thinking about how excellent European tortures were, this guy actually confessed. Had I known it would work this well, I wouldn’t have wasted my words.

"My codename is Shadow, a top ten assassin in the Dark World rankings, someone asked me to track you, so I installed a camera in your house, but I didn’t expect you to find it so quickly... that was beyond my expectations..." Shadow explained.

Ye Tian silently nodded, his words were mostly true and aligned with the information Ye Tian had.

Having been immersed in the Dark World for over a decade, Ye Tian had naturally heard of the assassin rankings, all filled with evil assassins, a few having entered the top ten, extremely terrifying entities.

As for the renowned name of the Shadow Assassin, Ye Tian had heard a bit about it but had not expected it to be the person before him. Catching him was also an act of eliminating harm for the people.

However, Ye Tian didn’t care who he was; he had already captured him. What Ye Tian wanted to know the most was about the mastermind behind the scenes. Although Shadow was not weak, he was merely a runner at best. The real entity Ye Tian was wary of, was still the mastermind behind it all.

"Whom do you serve?" Ye Tian directly asked.

"I can’t say that. I don’t want to die."

Shadow was very clear about the character of the King of the Night; although he highly valued himself, he never let his guard down. If the King of the Night found out he had betrayed him, even if Ye Tian didn’t kill him, he wouldn’t let him off.
