Young Brother-in-law Is Now My Husband-Chapter 1353: Her Lost Scarf
Chapter 1353: Her Lost Scarf
“I have informed home that you will be staying here for the time being,” Lu Lijun informed.
Jiang Yuyan realized she had almost forgotten about the family and said, “You didn’t tell them….”
“I had to or they would have been worried. Don’t worry, they are fine as long as you are.”
“I have to return home. I am fine now…”
“You are not. Until your doctor says you are fine and I permit you to leave, you are not going anywhere,” he instructed firmly.
She looked at him and he looked back at her. “Don’t worry, I just want to take care of you the way you have taken care of me and our family. I don’t mean anything else other than just taking care of you. Once you are fine, I won’t stop you.”
Jiang Yuyan nodded but hearing him, she didn’t know if she was fine or not. He sounded like he had given up on her and she could go on her way. She felt heavy in her heart.
“Do you want to take a walk?” he asked.
“I would prefer to work. I don’t seem to fall asleep now.”
“Medicines will make you sleep.”
She sighed, “They just make me restless in my sleep.”
Lu Lijun understood she was talking about her nightmares and said, “I’ll be next to you. You just rest.”
“You don’t need to…”
“As long as I am responsible for you, you have to listen to me,” he interrupted her. The way he said it and looked at her, she didn’t have the will to say no to him.
“But I won’t sleep,” she said.
“Then you can read something or watch television maybe, a movie,” he suggested.
“I will try.”
The two returned to the room and Lu Lijun said, “If you want, we can go to my room. The view and atmosphere are more pleasant there.”
She nodded. She had been there only once but now she wished to go there and see how he lived all these years. She only saw him in the pictures and videos but she was unknown to how and where he spent most of his time over the past ten years.
“Let’s go then,” he said and they went upstairs to Lu Lijun’s room. Lu Lijun held her hand while going upstairs as she was weak and had her meds a while ago.
When they entered the room, she looked around pleasant and filled with the bright sunlight room. It was in a combination of white and light blue color. It perfectly matched the blue looking waterbed and white blue sky up. It gave a feeling of the seaside and that mild breeze made it feel even livelier. She came here last time, it was nighttime and she was in a mood to scold him for smoking and failed to notice the room.
She went out in the gallery while Lu Lijun messaged Noah about something. Lu Lijun saw Jiang Yuyan standing at the railing of the gallery and enjoying the view. She seemed to like it a lot.
‘I wish we could be like this forever, together. Won’t it be so good?’ he could not help but bring out those hidden thoughts though he had decided he would not. ‘I am going ahead of myself.’ he sighed and knew the truth that he could never stop loving her and expecting her in his life.
He didn’t disturb her and waited for someone. Soon there was a knock on the door and Noah entered the room. He carried Lu Lijun’s laptop and the files with him.
“Why do you suddenly wish to work here instead of….” Noah noticed Jiang Yuyan standing in the gallery and stopped talking as he looked back at Lu Lijun with a light smile, “I got it now.”
Lu Lijun didn’t reply to his comment and took the stuff from his hand, “You can leave.”
Noah nodded and stopped at the door as he looked at Lu Lijun with a teasing smile, “Don’t worry. No one will disturb you.”
Lu Lijun glared at him and went to the door as he pushed Noah out and closed the door.
Jiang Yuyan returned to the room and sensed something had happened, “Is anything an issue?”
“N-Nothing,” he answered and went to the bed as he arranged the pillows at the headboard of the bed and said, “You can sit here. I will turn on the television for you.”
Jiang Yuyan agreed and sat in the bed. When Lu Lijun was setting the television for her, her sight noticed the dream catcher hanging at the entrance of the gallery, ‘It is the one that I gave him ten years back so he won’t get nightmares,’ she smiled lightly and then noticed there was a small scarf tied to the dreamcatcher which looked familiar to her. ‘That…That scarf…That’s mine. It went missing suddenly. I remember it because once Lu Qiang had gifted it to me. I can’t be wrong. But why is it here?’
Just then she heard Lu Lijun, “Here is the remote. You can watch whatever you want.”
Getting back to her senses she got the remote from him and looked at him as if she had something to ask.
“Do you need something?” he asked.
She shook her head and focussed on the television while Lu Lijun felt puzzled to think what had happened to change her mood so suddenly.
Lu Lijun sat on the couch while continuing his work while Jiang Yuyan surfed through the channels and settled at watching cartoons with short funny clips.
Lu Lijun saw it and remembered those memories when they used to watch cartoons together whenever Lu Qiang went on a business trip and he accompanied lonely Jiang Yuyan. ‘Those were the best days,’ he thought. ‘We haven’t played video games together since then. Shall we try it? It will help her relax. I will finish this work and then ask her.’
Lu Lijun continued his work and when he finished it and put his laptop aside, he found Jiang Yuyan had drifted to sleep. ‘She said she won’t sleep but in the end, could not resist the effect of those medicines.’
