Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2286: She’s gone?
Taking a deep breath, I calmed myself down and went outside.
I went to one of the other doors that was on the same floor and pushed it.
As expected, it wasn’t locked and opened with just a single push.
After opening the door, I went inside and headed to a specific room.
This neighbour of mine was someone that I knew that played the same game.
It was something that I discovered by accident and it wasn’t as if we wanted to discuss this out loud, but it was still enough that we became friends.
Things related to the game were discussed online and we just talked a bit in real life, but we really didn’t say much since there wasn’t much else that we had in common.
But since I knew that he played the game as well, I knew that he should also have a copy of this game.
"Nothing here at all..."
After searching the room and his computer, I found that it was completely empty.
It was interesting seeing some of the things that he had hidden on his computer, but I couldn’t really be attracted to those things anymore. After all, I had beautiful wives that were still waiting for me at home.
In the end, I wasn’t able to find a single trace of that game whether it was in digital form or physical form.
Even so, I didn’t give up as I started searching all of the different rooms that were in this building.
I learned quite a few things about the neighbours in my past life, but I wasn’t able to find any traces of the thing that I wanted to find.
It really seemed like everything that was related to that game was erased from this world.
I even expanded the search area to the entire neighbourhood.
After a certain point, I had completely lost track of time since I had been focused on trying to find anything related to that game.
Even the game store that I usually visited was emptied out.
It was strange seeing a game store being filled with games of every kind except that game.
Though the one strange thing that I found was...
"This food is still warm."
I was surprised to find that there was actually food that was left behind by whoever had been at the stall previously. It seemed like they had disappeared without a trace with how the food was still warm.
It was almost as if they had been sent away by something rather than this being just a replica of my past life.
Or if it was a replica, then it was something that was created the moment of my death and had been suspended in that state.
But if that was the case, it didn’t make any sense for the thing that created this place to do that...
If that was the case, just what did they want from me?
There was a part of me that was freaked out when I discovered this and I couldn’t help heading back home. It was a place that I couldn’t help but consider safe since it was the place that had been my home for so long.
Only before I reached my house, I suddenly noticed something else.
"This photo...there’s something missing."
It was a photo that I had missed previously because I had been focused on trying to find any trace of that game. But now that I had realized that this place was strange, I had been looking carefully to see if I could find anything else.
That was why I noticed that there was someone that was missing from this photo.
This photo was from a neighbourhood event a few years back, it was a group photo that had been taken to celebrate everyone that came together to make the event a success.
The only reason I remembered it so vividly was because I was the one that took the photo.
I had been asked to help out by my mother...or it was better to say that I had been dragged along by her.
In the end, I was made to take the group photo for her and her friends.
But I found that she was the only one that was missing from this photo.
"No, I made sure that she was right in the center...No matter how you look at it, that gap is unnatural."
As soon as my voice fell, I put the photo back in place and headed up to my house.
Once I was there, I found that it was the same thing.
No matter how many photos I looked for, I found that there wasn’t a single trace of my mother. Every time, there was this empty space that was in the photo as if she had been erased from it.
I knew for certain that these were photos that she was in since I had been with her in many of these photos.
But no matter how I tried looking for her, I couldn’t find a single trace of her.
It was as if she was the other thing that had been erased from this world.
"I can understand if it’s the game, but my mother?" I muttered under my breath, but there really was no holding back the feeling that was building up inside of me.
After all, if even my mother had been erased...
"Could it be that something happened to her in my past life?"
There was this small thing that was nagging me from the back of my mind.
It wasn’t as if anything that I found confirmed this thought of mine, but it really was hard to get rid of a thought like this once it started digging into one’s brain.
The rational part of me was telling myself to calm down, but the emotions were just too strong for me to actually calm down...
"It seems like you’ve already found everything that you’re supposed to find here. I’m sure that you have questions for me."
