The Broken Halo
Chapter 534: Teleportation
Elder Xyron could not believe what just happened to him.
The hole in his heart forcefully brought him out of his focused state, and he looked down at the Chaos Blade that was sticking out of his heart.
There were so many reasons why he was having a hard time believing what he was seeing.
First of all, Simon’s demonic energy was restricted, so how was he able to bring out a weapon from thin air?
Where did the weapon come from?
How was the weapon able to pierce through his defenses and his Forged Heart?
Compared to many other demonic races, Xyron knows that the Soul Mirror Demons had weak physiques.
That was their weakness.
However, Simon was a Fiend in his eyes.
How was he able to pierce through his physical defenses and the demonic energy that was passively coating his body?
Elder Xyron had so many questions and thoughts running through his mind, but no answer was given to him.
He could feel it.
His life was slipping away.
And the rate at which it was slipping away shook the heart of the elder.
"You-"
Elder Xyron’s eyes suddenly widened when he felt something else.
He was not just dying.
No.
His soul was being sucked into this accursed sword in his heart.
The shock, disbelief, and fear in the heart of Elder Xyron increased drastically.
But there was nothing he could do.
A certain ancient hybrid was having a delicacy, and she had no intentions of letting it go.
[Hey, Lilith. I hope you’ve not forgotten about our agreement.]
Simon asked as he shifted his gaze from the dying elder to the chains on his hand.
[I have not. I’ll help you.]
Simon nodded slightly.
In the past two months, Simon had thought of many scenarios and plans for this day.
And Lilith was very crucial to his survival and escape.
He had hoped that it would not come to this since the consequences might be more than he could handle, but he had no other choice.
Instead of allowing Elder Xyron to see and show the truth, he would rather kill him.
Instead of allowing the elder to live with the knowledge of how unique his mind was for a sixteen year old demon, he would rather kill him.
If Elder Xyron showed the truth about the Devourer’s blood essence, he would most likely die.
And if he killed Elder Xyron just like he did right now, he would still most likely die.
So, he decided to take his chances.
’If Lilith overworks herself to help me escape, then I’ll need to kill more demons related to the Soul Daemon to get the location of the dragon lair.’
Just as Simon had this thought, Lilith spoke.
[I’ll need ten minutes to refine his soul. Survive for ten minutes.]
Simon nodded once again at her words, and with a thought, the Chaos Wraps erupted with black flames and the chains binding his wrists melted in less than three seconds.
He grabbed the Chaos Blade and removed it from Elder Xyron’s corpse.
The elder of the Soul Mirror Demon Clan was already dead.
Lilith had consumed his soul, leaving him dead.
The corpse fell on the ground with a thud, then Simon looked at Black Midnight who was calmly staring at him.
The Grave Lord shifted his gaze to Elder Xyron’s corpse, then the Chaos Blade, then Simon’s wrists, then the melted chains on the floor, then Simon’s face.
He looked at everything with a completely calm and indifferent expression.
Not a single sign of shock, surprise, or anger could be seen on his face.
"How did you melt the chains?" Black Midnight asked.
Because Elder Xyron’s corpse was right in front of Simon, Black Midnight could not see the chaos flames Simon summoned to melt the chains.
Meanwhile, Simon did not respond.
He rotated his wrists a few times in order to get rid of the soreness in them.
Black Midnight did not mind however.
His gaze shifted to the Chaos Blade and Elder Xyron’s corpse.
"That’s a dangerous blade you got there. Surprisingly, my instincts are warning me about that blade."
Once again, Simon remained silent.
However, his eyes contained a cold, calm, and calculating glint.
"Don’t tell me you don’t plan on saying anything after what you just did?"
Simon tilted his head slightly.
"What do you expect me to say?"
Black Midnight nonchalantly shrugged.
"Maybe you can start by telling me why you did something so foolish.",
He gestured at Elder Xyron’s corpse.
"It’s truly shocking that you were able to kill him even though it was through a sneak attack and because of that sword."
"It seems you were still hiding a lot in your sleeves."
He glanced at the Chaos Blade once again.
"However, what are you going to do now?"
"Who is going to save you? Your master? Instructor Ormon? Your gang? Your friends?"
"There’s no way for you to leave this room talk less of the clan. So tell me, what do you plan on doing now?"
Simon did not respond.
Instead, he crouched, then he brought out his spatial ring from his boot and wore it.
Then he sent the corpse of Elder Xyron into his spatial ring.
’I can’t let them inspect the corpse.’
Black Midnight had a confused and amused expression seeing Simon’s actions.
He was about to speak, but Simon suddenly spoke.
"Hey. You were the one that brought me to the Shadowgrave Clan. Your mask and clothes might have changed, but I’ve not forgotten your aura."
"One day, I’ll kill you. Do not forget this."
Black Midnight raised an amused brow, and he was about to speak.
But his expression drastically changed when he perceived a disturbance in the space around Simon.
"What?"
He believed his senses were playing tricks on him, but in the next moment, Simon vanished and the eyes of the Grave Lord widened in sheer disbelief.
"Teleportation?"
The gears in the mind of Black Midnight spun, and a few seconds later, he sank into his shadow and vanished from the hall.
