Chapter 564: Chapter 564: Pitiful Enough

Han Yingnai had finally wised up this time and figured out what he meant without asking any further questions.

Shen Letian was in the midst of changing clothes when, out of nowhere, Tang Yu came running back, carrying Leng Jing in his arms.

"What’s wrong?"

Tang Yu looked at him innocently, "I don’t know my way around!"

Shen Letian’s mouth twitched, "Did your brain go haywire, and your eyes too? The hospital is right across the street! You can’t miss the huge sign!"

"Oh." Tang Yu obediently left again with Leng Jing in his arms, not the least bit concerned about Shen Letian’s surly attitude, as if he was quite used to it.

"Can’t you be nicer to Tang Yu! He’s pitiful enough already..." Han Yingnai complained while going to feed the cat with her steamed bun.

The fluffy bundle had a round, roly-poly face that was as adorably irresistible as ever, but seeing its droopy and lifeless eyes made Han Yingnai’s heart ache, "Why do you have to be such a troublemaker! Poor Baozi is so unlucky to have you as an owner..."

"What are you muttering about?" Shen Letian slipped on his shirt haphazardly without buttoning it and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his chin in the nape of her neck, "That bottle of red wine is worth a lifetime of cat food for this little thing! What else could you possibly be dissatisfied with?"

"Who cares about that!"

Shen Letian leaned in to kiss her lips, "Stop just feeding Baozi! Feed me too..."

Han Yingnai used the leftover cat food in her hand as a shield, then took advantage of his momentary retreat to place her hands on her hips and glare at him furiously, "You still have the nerve to ask for food from me!"

"Why wouldn’t I be brazen?" Shen Letian sat on the ground, propping himself up with his hands behind him, leisurely staring at her.

"Don’t you even bother asking why I’m not at work at this time!" Han Yingnai had a severely irritated look.

"You must have finished your work already!" Shen Letian shrugged.

"You’re still playing dumb! What work! It’s been half a month and I haven’t accomplished a single job! Last week, there was news about a beastly college professor who lured a female student into prostitution, and before I had a chance to disguise myself as a student to get firsthand information, that beastly professor got arrested the next day!"

"Isn’t that a good thing?"

"The week before last, that nail household was making a scene with the construction crew, and just when I arrived at the site, everyone got taken away by the police!"

"That’s because the police are highly efficient!"

"The week before last, there was a major traffic accident in the north of the city, seven dead and nine injured! But when I got there, not to mention the injured, I couldn’t even see a puddle of blood!"

"Emergency services got there pretty fast!"

Han Yingnai, out of breath from talking, said, "Shen Letian, will you ever cut it out?"

"If you want to bait someone by pretending to be a college student, let his own wife do it! Why should my wife be the bait?

Fight scenes are so dangerous! If a brick gets thrown, it could smash your little head to bits!

In a major traffic accident, the scene is full of severed arms and legs, brains burst open, intestines torn from stomachs, and you had a dinner date with me that night! Could you still eat after seeing that?" Shen Letian’s words dripped one by one as though they were perfectly reasonable, not feeling in the slightest that he had done anything wrong.

"Then how do you explain today’s celebrity interview? What did Xie Ziheng ever do to you? Don’t tell me it wasn’t you who put pressure on our director!"

Shen Letian’s eyes narrowed slightly, "Do you even know who this Xie Ziheng is?"

"Nonsense! Of course, I do! The top-notch designer Alan, just back from Milan, heir of the Tai Ning corporation, a platinum bachelor of the business world! Do you know how much homework I did for this interview? And with just one word, you obliterated all my efforts!"
