A Farmer's Journey To Immortality-Chapter 423: Accepted as Holy Land Torel’s Honorary Core Disciple
Aksai stored all his rewards inside his storage ring.
His finger brushed over the cool metal as if to reassure himself that the treasures were secure.
Just as he steadied his breath, the neural voice reverberated in his mind once again.
A set of spectral notifications appeared in front of him, glowing faintly as they aligned with the voice's words:
[ The challenger is qualified to upgrade his disciple status ]
[ The challenger is qualified to become a core disciple of Holy Land Torel ]
[ Finding possible sect elders suitable for the challenger who can take the challenger as a disciple ]
[ No active sect elder found.]
[ The challenger is qualified to become an honorary core disciple under the Sect Master ]
[Requesting the challenger to take out his sect token.]
"Core disciples? I… a core disciple of the Holy Land Torel?"
Aksai blinked, his brows furrowing slightly as he processed the series of notifications. A moment later, realization struck him.
"So that's why all the names on the 9th stage's Top 100 Ranking List are core disciples of the Holy Land Torel…" he muttered under his breath.
It wasn't that only core disciples were allowed to take this test; rather, those who successfully cleared the 9th stage were directly elevated to the rank of core disciple.
Even though Aksai was never formally accepted as a disciple by a sect currently active in Dadangar, he knew a thing or two about how the sects operated. The status of a core disciple was a big thing. It wasn't given to just about anybody.

Only those disciples that showed great promise and loyalty to the sect were regarded as core disciples. A sect would spend a lot of resources and efforts into raising such disciples.
The status of a core disciple was largely dependent on a sect's reputation. A core disciple of a big sect was often seen as a bigger powerhouse than an ordinary sect's sect master. This held true even if the former's cultivation base was much lower than the latter.
Those who reached this stage were eligible to be taken in by a sect elder. Aksai could imagine the power and status the core disciples must have wielded when the Holy Land Torel was active. After all, this was an organization that had Core Formation Lords and Nascent Soul Kings serving as mere disciples.
What would have been the status of sect elders who received these powerful cultivators? If Aksai's guess wasn't wrong, these sect elders were as strong as Deity Transformation Gods– cultivators who were seen and worshiped as gods by the masses.
Thus, becoming a core disciple of the Holy Land Torel was akin to becoming a disciple of a deity. If someone like that were to appear outside the sect, he would immediately draw attention. At least that's what it should have been.
Aksai didn't know how powerful the Holy Land Torel was at its peak. However, he was sure that a core disciple of such a sect would have made the current sect masters of Purple River Sect, Green Glory Palace, Sun Ocean Society, Eastern Limiya Gate, and lastly Western Limiya Gate lower their heads in submission.
If the Holy Land Torel was still present in the Dadangar subcontinent, the current Big Five Sects would be nothing but a joke in the eyes of the masses. In fact, they wouldn't be willing to call themselves a part of the Big Five in fear of offending a single core disciple of the Holy Land Torel.
Then again, Aksai was sure that a sect as big as Holy Land Torel wouldn't have even bothered with the current Big Five Sects. An elephant doesn't care what the earthworms are up to inside a heap of mud.
"Damn… this cave's mechanism is truly sophisticated. It even wants to find me sect elders I can choose as my potential master? But then again… I'm safe for now."
The absence of active sect elders, however, brought a smile to Aksai's face. "Thankfully… I don't have to worry about being accepted as a real disciple," he thought. After all, he never wanted to carry out the responsibilities that came with being a core disciple of such a big sect.
Despite the lack of an elder to take him in, the opportunity to serve as an honorary core disciple under the Sect Master himself was no small honor.
"Maybe… I can farm this place for even more rewards with my core disciple status. There's no sect elder anyway so I should go ahead and become a core disciple. The status should be honorary anyway."
Aksai's mind settled, and he wasted no time in complying with the final instruction.
He reached into his storage ring and retrieved the wooden sect token he had received as a reward in the earlier stages. He held it up in his palm for a moment.
The token seemed to resonate with the chamber as soon as it was exposed to the air. It floated upward, slipping from his grasp, and hovered midair in front of him.
Aksai took a step back instinctively as ethereal Essence Equation runes began to materialize around the token. The runes glowed with shifting colors—white, gold, and green—circling the token in an intricate dance of light.
The wooden texture of the token began to shift and shimmer, its surface becoming smooth and crystalline. The dull brown wood transformed into a vibrant jade-green crystal, radiant with an inner light that pulsed gently.
The back of the transformed token became etched with mysterious white and golden Essence Equation runes. Etched into its surface was his name, written in the old Dadangar language. The elegant curves and sharp angles of the letters seemed to radiate authority.
The name glowed faintly for a moment before the token fell into his open palm, warm to the touch despite its crystalline structure.
Aksai stared at the token, its green hue reflecting in his eyes. The neural voice spoke again, as if reading his resolve:
[Congratulations, core disciple Aksai. Your identity has been updated in the records of Holy Land Torel.]**
[The Sect Master has been notified of your status. ]
[ Prepare to be transported to the Treasury to receive your reward and blessings as a core disciple ]
