A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 87: Jasper Ford Calls an Ambulance
Wanda Quincy had been on the back foot ever since Vivian Quincy returned. In the past, Jasper Ford would at least spare her a glance, but now he couldn’t even be bothered with her. Wanda Quincy was convinced Vivian Quincy must be sabotaging her. ’That little vixen is probably using her good looks to seduce Jasper.’
’Jasper is usually so self-disciplined, but what if Vivian’s methods are too aggressive? What if he can’t resist?’
’To capture a man, you must first capture his heart. Satisfy all his desires, and only then will he truly care for you.’
Six years. She had been by Jasper Ford’s side for six years! There was no reason he shouldn’t have given her a proper look in all that time!
Gazing at the charming, sexy woman in the mirror, Wanda Quincy felt very pleased with her figure. She lit the candles on the table and the elegant lamp on the nightstand before switching off the main light. The bedroom was instantly bathed in the exquisite beauty of candlelight. The candlelit dinner on the table gave off a captivating aroma as she quietly straightened her gossamer-thin lingerie...
Worried Jasper might not find the room, Wanda Quincy sent him a text with her exact location.
About ten minutes later, someone arrived!
Wanda Quincy clearly heard a car stop in her courtyard, followed by THUMPING sounds. Someone was coming upstairs, and they were moving with great urgency, as if they were sprinting...
’It seems Jasper does care about me after all. He knew I was sick and rushed all the way here...’
Wanda Quincy took a deep breath. ’I have to make sure Jasper sees me at my most beautiful the moment he walks in. He won’t be able to look away, and then he’ll stay with me...’
She smiled seductively, right up until the door was violently kicked open!
Four or five people in white coats, carrying a stretcher, stood at the doorway. One of them asked loudly, "Is the patient in this roo... m...?"
By the time the last word was out, everyone at the door had frozen, staring in disbelief at the scene before them.
Wanda Quincy, utterly horrified, let out a piercing scream. "AH! What are you all doing here!"
Startled, Wanda Quincy frantically grabbed the blanket beside her, pulling it up to cover herself completely. Her eyes were bloodshot. "Who are you? Why did you barge into my home? Guards! Guards! Gouge their eyes out!"
Her furious shout snapped everyone back to their senses. A doctor at the door explained, "We received an emergency call that someone in this house was sick, so we rushed over to provide aid."
"That’s nonsense! No one is sick here! Get out! All of you, get out!" Wanda Quincy sobbed, roaring with rage as she furiously hurled a pillow at the doorway.
The Quincy family guards heard Wanda Quincy’s cries and rushed upstairs. "Miss Quincy, what happened?" one asked frantically.
Wanda Quincy pointed at the group in the doorway. "Get them all out of here! Hurry!"
The guard said, "But Miss, aren’t you ill? Are you sure you want to send the doctors away?"
"Just do what I tell you! Or I’ll have you fired!" Wanda Quincy shrieked, then ordered the guard to shut the door.
The paramedics thought Wanda Quincy had to be crazy. "What’s with her?" one of them grumbled. "She’s the one who called for help, and then she treats us like this? That’s just outrageous."
They turned and left.
Wanda Quincy sat in her room and angrily snatched up her phone. She found an unread text message from Jasper Ford. It read: *I called an ambulance for you.*
Wanda Quincy was completely stunned when she saw the message. A horrifying, crazed expression twisted her heavily made-up face. Trembling from the shock, she furiously smashed her phone against the wall.
"AHHH!"
"Jasper Ford, you bastard!"
She was so livid she could spit. She couldn’t fathom how Jasper Ford could be so hateful!
’I told him I was so sick, and he didn’t even come to see me himself! What kind of man is he?!’
The memory of being gawked at by a crowd of strangers filled Wanda Quincy with shame and indignation. Covering her face, she let out a few wails. Fiona Hughes, who had been hiding in her room, heard the unusual sounds and rushed out. "Wanda, where’s Jasper? Why are you alone?"
Wanda Quincy bit her lower lip, her eyes red with shame and resentment. "Mom, Jasper never came."
"What? After all that, he still didn’t come?" Fiona Hughes was utterly shocked.
Wanda said, "He called an ambulance for me. A-and... and all those people saw me!"
The more Wanda Quincy thought about it, the more mortified she felt. She was so furious she wanted to gouge those men’s eyes out, but since she couldn’t, all she could do was cry to her mother.
Fiona Hughes was at a loss. She hadn’t expected Jasper to be so completely clueless. Unsure how to console her daughter, she could only pat Wanda’s back. "There, there, don’t cry. At least Jasper called an ambulance for you. That shows he cares about you. If it were anyone else, he wouldn’t have even bothered to give them a second glance."
"But he’s obviously paying attention to Vivian Quincy," Wanda retorted, full of resentment.
Fiona Hughes was surprised. "When did this happen? Why didn’t I know?"
"There’s a lot you don’t know! Yesterday, I just went to teach that Anna a lesson. I didn’t even touch that bastard, Beanie Quincy, and Vivian Quincy had him and his cronies beat me up! Mom, is there any justice in this world? That homewrecker is ruining my future marriage, ruining my relationship with Jasper, and now she’s worming her way in. What am I going to do...?"
The more Wanda thought about it, the angrier she became. She clenched the blanket in her fists, picturing it as Vivian Quincy, wishing she could strangle her right then and there.
Fiona Hughes comforted her, "Vivian is Jasper’s assistant, so of course he’s going to look at her more. But don’t you worry, Wanda. How could a man of his stature be interested in Jeremy King’s sloppy seconds?"
"But Vivian has nothing to do with Jeremy King, and she can explain that. What I’m afraid of now is that bastard child, Beanie Quincy." Although Wanda had been spreading misleading rumors to make everyone think Beanie was Jeremy King’s son, Vivian didn’t believe it for a second and was still investigating what happened that night.
Fiona Hughes’s expression darkened. After a long moment of thought, she spoke slowly, "It seems we’ll have to deal with Beanie Quincy sooner rather than later."
"Mom, what are you planning to do?" Wanda asked, confused.
Fiona Hughes said, "You shouldn’t get involved directly again. It will make people suspicious."
"But if I don’t do it, who will help me deal with Vivian?" Wanda asked, puzzled.
Fiona Hughes said, "Mrs. King."
"I understand now." Wanda Quincy suddenly smiled, a venomous grin spreading across her face.
Mrs. King was Jeremy King’s wife. She had a foul temper, was brutish in her conduct, and was a well-known shrew in Crestfall. Coming from a good family, she was extremely domineering and loathed homewreckers above all else.
Every single one of Jeremy King’s mistresses had been dealt with by Mrs. King...
If they just hinted to Mrs. King that Vivian Quincy was involved with Jeremy King, the woman would absolutely destroy her! 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Wanda Quincy laughed. "How could I have forgotten about her? Vivian Quincy, let’s see you get out of this one!"
「...」
Vivian Quincy got to the office early. Jasper Ford hadn’t arrived yet, but everyone in the secretarial department was already present. As Vivian walked in, many of them couldn’t help but give her strange looks. She found it odd. After organizing some documents and taking them to the chief secretary, she couldn’t resist asking, "Why is everyone acting so strange today?"
The chief secretary gave an awkward laugh. "We’re not. Is something wrong?"
"It’s nothing." Vivian shook her head and returned to her desk. Feeling a little thirsty, she picked up her mug to get some water from the breakroom, but as she got closer, she overheard people talking about her.
"My god, that Vivian Quincy has some nerve."
"I was stunned when I saw the President bring her breakfast last time. I wondered what had gotten into him. She looks so innocent, but I never thought her tactics would be so trashy."
"You just don’t get it. The more innocent they look on the outside, the more they’re just putting on an act. And men just love that damsel-in-distress type. Poor our future president’s wife. I heard she went to teach Vivian a lesson personally last night. I thought Vivian would be too humiliated to show her face at work, but who knew she’d be so thick-skinned? She gets beaten up and still shows up this early. She must be planning to tattle to the President."
