Abyss System The Rise of the Lord-Chapter 79 azuris or motvation
While standing in the pit, with his fingers deeply embedded in the slime’s body, Zaber felt delicate vibrations occurring inside the slime with his every movement. Slowly withdrawing his hand, he whispered to himself:
"My blood is useless to me, but is it a treasure to the slime?"
His voice carried a mixture of anger and astonishment. Zaber paused for a moment, carefully stroked the slime, and continued in a low voice:
"You have shown that you will become incredibly powerful in the future. With the potential within you and through my blood, one day you will become a threat to millions of animals and people."
The slime could not respond; the formation of its consciousness had not yet begun. At the same time, Zaber turned back and began walking slowly out of the pit. The slime followed him, mimicking his steps, trailing behind as it watched him. With each slide, its body compressed slightly, yet it remained large.
Zaber turned to the slime:
"Your name will be Azuris. Remember it."
The slime attempted to climb out of the pit, looking upward, but in its current state it could not emerge. Though its body had condensed, its large form still did not grant it full freedom of movement.
Zaber walked along the edge, inspecting the pit. He reached a section where the rim protruded slightly outward. Standing there, he jumped; due to insufficient weight, he did not rise fully, but after several leaps, the soil beneath his feet crumbled and fell downward. The protruding section, now angled, became considerably steeper compared to the rest, yet Azuris managed to climb out slowly from there.
Zaber headed back toward the tent. Along the way, Azuris digested branches and stones, leaving trails of liquid as it crawled. Its movements seemed purposeful and efficient, demonstrating strength and determination with every slide.
Zaber’s thoughts were tangled. He whispered to himself:
"I have heard that dragon blood enhances existing abilities. An example is Azuris—it strengthens the digestion ability and allows it to take shape. But I..." he stopped, looking downward at himself... "I was so talentless that even the blood could not help. I could not even take dragon form." He clenched his fist tightly.
"Why did this blood not help me either?" Zaber thought. "My physical abilities did not strengthen at all. Even the abilities I possess did not grow stronger. This is some kind of secret or curse..."
Lost in these thoughts, he continued on his way. Soon he reached the tent. Luna had finished cooking, Gobuto was tied to the tree, and the crow was speaking quietly with Luna, so they did not hear Zaber’s approach.
When Zaber arrived in front of the tent, Luna and the crow looked up in surprise. Behind him, the enormous Azuris was moving. Both asked in unison:
"Master, what kind of creature is this?"
Zaber sat on a branch lying on a higher spot and said in a low voice:
"This is your new companion."
Luna and the crow approached Azuris and observed it. Azuris had become considerably calmer; its movements had smoothed, and it had begun to control its strength somewhat.
Zaber continued, looking at them:
"Azuris has reached the initial sixth level. The crow has also grown quite strong, at the same level. Luna is physically much stronger, at the initial fourth level."
He whispered, glancing at Gobuto tied to the tree:
"He is not growing stronger, still at the initial third level. Rion once said: goblins grow quickly and reproduce quickly. If I can use Gobuto properly, it is possible to create a goblin army."
Zaber turned to Luna.
"Come here."
Luna was circling around Azuris, touching its body with her hand, marveling at its extraordinary softness. Upon hearing Zaber’s voice, she slowly walked toward him. At that moment, the crow also approached.
The crow knelt before Zaber, bending one leg. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"Do you have an order, master?"
Zaber replied in a calm, almost emotionless tone:
"I must leave. Your mission is complete. Now focus on raising your levels."
Luna asked in a gentle voice, hiding worry within:
"Master... will you not take us with you?"
Zaber fell silent for a moment. His gaze lingered briefly on Azuris, then fixed on the distance.
"Not now. You could perish at any moment. When you reach the intermediate level, you will be worthy of walking with me."
The crow raised its head. Hesitation and determination reflected together in its eyes.
"Master... may I ask something?"
Zaber’s voice grew colder.
"Ask."
The crow hesitated slightly, then spoke firmly:
"I have a goal. I must take revenge. As a servant, it may seem I am asking too much... but if I prove myself, will you permit it?"
Zaber fell silent again. Then he raised his hand and placed it on the crow’s shoulder. His voice was low but clear:
"Prove that you are worthy of me. Show your loyalty. Then I will permit it. Perhaps I will even help. If you walk with me, you can achieve your desire. Just prove your worthiness."
These words gave strength to the crow. It bowed its head deeply.
"Thank you, master. I will definitely prove it," it said with passion.
Zaber stood up.
"I will leave tomorrow morning."
With these words, he approached Gobuto tied to the tree. He bent down before him. His long black hair hung downward.
"Gobuto," he said in a quiet tone, "do you want females?"
Gobuto had been waiting for punishment for some time. His fear was not from the punishment itself, but from the unknown—what it would be, what would happen. He slowly nodded.
Zaber spoke in a low and resolute tone:
"I can give you as many females as you desire. But prove your worthiness. And do not attack Luna again. Otherwise, I will not forgive you."
Gobuto’s face lit up in an instant.
"Y-yes, master. I will do it!"
Zaber untied the cloth and released him.
"I understand you. It is not easy. But do not do this to your companions. If you are strong, you can do it to other creatures."
With these words, he stood up and entered the tent.
But as if forgetting something, Zaber came out again.
The crow, Luna, and Gobuto were speaking quietly about something. Taking advantage of the situation, Zaber bit the dried spot on his finger again to draw blood and dripped several dozen drops into the food. Then, without anyone noticing, he returned to the tent.
This will improve their abilities, he thought. If they get used to it, it will be harder for them later.
With these thoughts, Zaber lay down and soon fell asleep. He was quite exhausted today. Though the sun had not yet set, he lay quietly inside the tent and quickly drifted into sleep. His breathing was even, his body motionless—the events of the day had weighed heavily on both his spirit and his body.
Outside, by the fire, Luna was looking at Gobuto. Her gaze was scrutinizing, her voice calm.
"What did master say to you? Why are you so happy?" she asked.
Gobuto puffed out his chest and replied proudly:
"If I prove worthy, he said he would give me many females. Most importantly—I will not be punished."
The crow also looked at Gobuto and added in a heavy but resolute tone:
"He said the same to me. If I prove worthy, he will help with my revenge. If I continue to follow him, I can achieve whatever I desire."
Luna silently observed their enthusiastic conversation. Something stirred in her heart. A thought gradually formed within her.
If I also prove worthy... perhaps I too can find him. The elf who sacrificed everything for me...
These thoughts weighed heavily on her. Her eyes slowly dropped to the ground, her gaze grew distant. She said nothing. Silently standing up, she went to the pot.
Luna began ladling the food into bowls. Her movements were calm, but her inner state was restless. She prepared two bowls for Gobuto and the crow. Then, without looking at anyone, she slowly walked into the trees.
Gobuto and the crow saw the food placed before them and immediately approached. They looked at each other in confusion.
"What happened to her?" Gobuto asked in surprise.
The crow looked at the bowl, thought for a moment, then said in a low voice:
"You do not sense it... but her mind is troubled. Last time she put her hand into the fire instead of the wood. Something seems to have happened to her..."
A brief silence fell between them. The fire crackled, and between the trees, Luna was disappearing.
